    Your video was great indeed. I got a question on continous residence - If I make 2-3 months trip every year continously for 5-years while my house lease and job are in active, am I disrupting the continous residence? Can I apply for naturalization right after 5-years. This multiple trips will be made to see family members because I don't have anybody here in the US. I will appreciate if you can answer this based on your experience.

      I am in the same exact position too where I have to go to see my wife every 2-3 months in a year. I hear about less than 180 days you can stay out of the country. Some lawyers say you should not travel much...so I don't know, I saw on the immigration forum some have got rejected because of excess travel.

    Filed in March of this year. I’m in California. Been a LPR for over 34 years. I’m 35. Completed the Biometrics back in July. Still waiting on a Civics Test appointment. Estimated time to case completion still shows another 10 months on USCIS website. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    How about if I have green card for example 2 years and then I get married. Do I still have to be married for at least three years? Because three years of marriage are equally valuable as 5 years on my own. Does the combination of the two change things? Thanks!

    If somebody gets married to a US citizen, he can apply for the citizenship after 3 years. How about if that person gets married to a green card holder? Does that 3 year rule still apply? Or is that 5?

    What if the person had their GD for 12 years but only recently made the move permanent and will soon be consistently in the US for the 2.5years?
    I am wondering if the USCIS will frown upon the previous years they only maintained their GD...

    Mr. Ashoori thank you for the informative videos. I had a question if you can please explain. I applied for citizenship on oct 01, 2020 and have only received two letters back from USCIS, one for biometeics resue and the receipt of application acknowledgement. I applied online when i check the status it still says another approx. 8 months till completion. My question is i had a new child on oct, 02, 2021. Do I have to do anything to amend the application to add the child before the interview ?
    Please kindly respond.

    Applied for citizenship here in TX in 5/20 (n400) Til now, still waiting for interview. Some of my NY friends who filed 6-8 months after me are already done. I have no idea what’s happening at the USCIS.

    I applied for my citizenship while living in the state of Wisconsin(in May), then I moved to Florida in June and I tried to contact USCIS to tell them and I never was able to get an answer, then I was told I had an interview in august in Wisconsin but I couldn’t make it there and I already tried to change my address on my account then I wrote a letter and explain everything and they changed my address on my account but they updated my status to no one showed up to the meeting. So I’ve been waiting for them to reschedule but they haven’t. My green cArd end in May 11. Could I try to get it expedited? Or what are my options?

    • @engiedaram6407
      @engiedaram6407 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should have change your address within 10 days since you got a new address and let them know you won’t be able to make it in WI. They might dropped off your case…

  • @nimry80

    I have been married since 2017 ,I got my green card few months ago & they gave me the
    '10 YEARS GREEN CARD ' my question is👇
    how early /soon can I apply for naturalization ??

    • @done5060
      @done5060 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are married to a citizen… and also remain married for at least 3yrs… you are cleared to apply for naturalization after the 3rd year.
      In some states, you can apply when the 3yr duration has 60days to be completed.
      On the other hand, if you are married to a permanent Resident - who decides to maintain his/her permanent residency, you can only naturalize after 5yrs.

    • @nimry80
      @nimry80 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@done5060 3 years after the issue date of the green card?? Or the date of marriage ,note that I got the 10 years green after 4 years waiting on pending case,they didn't give me the 2 years green card

    • @done5060
      @done5060 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nimry80 this is why every case is different, nevertheless, look at the issue date on your green card… irrespective of how long you waited, N400 process uses your issue date.
      Calculate 5 years from your issue date and apply.
      *Second Preference:* if you had your green card before getting married to a citizen for at least 3years, you can go ahead and apply for naturalization immediately, however it is important for you to upload your marriage certificate as one of the documents in your N400 application.
      As you can see I provided two answers.. please feel free to book a session with an immigration attorney for clarity if you are still confused.
      Every case is always different irrespective of the timeline required.
      I hope it is clear to you..
