OMG, I can't believe I just saved a few thousand by following this video. My contractor told me that some work needs to be done in a scroll space to fix the hot water problem. Also, this video is specifically for the Glacier Bay model that requires a couple more steps and this video is very helpful when you don't have instructions handy.
I was literally crying throwing a fit because the water never got hot enough and especially in these cold months this is gonna be great! Thank you so much!
I've lived in my home for 8 years with no problems with the shower... until this month, the hot water was only a trickle. Turning that hot water screw off and on a couple times allowed the pressure to return. Thanks so much!
It's not that I didn't read the instruction manual, but rather the house didn't come with an instruction manual. Thanks for the vid, it was a great help.
Man, thank you so much for this video. I tried adjusting the 2 screws like you did at first with no success. Never would have guessed that the red ring was the key. Purchased the house with the remodeled shower so I didn't have any instructions. Thanks again!
I have the same model and had same problem and that fixed it! Thanks a million for the video! 68YO granny with an old house that requires constant repairs. My contractor put in the new faucet/valve but didn't adjust it before assembly and sealing it up. It was going to be weeks before he could come back again.
You r the man. Not even my contractor suggest this. He said because my ADU unit was too far from the main water supply in the street that I may need another tankless water heater
You just saved me a few bucks from having a plumber come out; I just had my water heater replaced and both of my showers won't get fully hot. I just tried this in my guest shower and now it's piping hot. Thank you!
Amazing, I just moved into a new home, My shower was only giving luke warm water. Took 3 Cold shower. This showed me how to get more HOT water. Thank you Thank you... I did it all by myself. Your instruction were so easy to follow. Now to take a HOT shower!! Thank you so very much!!
Thank you! I just moved into a home and the previous owner either preferred having lukewarm water or never cared that their installer didn’t pay attention but I hated this. East to fix and I had no idea what brand the valve was but it was the exact model you have. Thanks!
Thank you for your help. We are using a cool faucet that came from a used building supply. No directions. You saved the day. Home is under contract. and having inspection tomorrow.
This was exactly what I needed. Thanks. The handyman installed the shower faucets but didn't leave me the installation instructions. It has been bugging me why the shower doesn't get as hot as the sink faucets. That anti-scald valve needed to be adjusted.
Great video. It indeed helped me. Thanks. At one point, you wondered why would they even keep it as an option. I don't know the exact reason but something I can think of that the plumber will install it with predefined 'just barely enough' hot water. The owner may realize the inefficiency weeks or months later to call the plumber just to pay that $250 for the visit. Plumbers, on the other hand, love the product because it is a easy money from the homeowners. So it is the big brother taking care of the small brother, and then the small brother taking care of the big brother. Don't believe me?? Read other people's comment here.
I recently bought a house but had to change the valve since the old one was rusted but for some reason after changing the valve i wouldn’t get hot water maybe i though the water pipes were clogged up so i changed the hot pipes but nothing now I’m excited to get home and try this !
Thank you! I fixed my hot water issue...but now my water won't shut off unless I turn off the main valves. Can you please tell me what I've done wrong 😬
I have delta in two showers and just installed GB in the third because my wife liked the color. I think delta is easier to install and you don't have to deal with the temp thingy. My biggest complaint now is that the GB shower doesn't get as warm as the deltas do and I don't want to turn the water heater hotter. This is not a helpful feature.
I just bought a new house and have a delta faucet too, my red knob is a bit different but it doesn’t want to turn at all, even after unlocking it! Does anyone have a suggestion?
It's probably in there to keep from having a law suit. Personally I have it all the way to hot, so it isn't doing anything but taking up space. I would recommend setting it to a temperature where someone wouldn't get burned.
They have the red stopper there for safety reasons for kids so they don’t burn themselves if they taking a bath but to me it’s pointless cause your could just jump out of the shower or turn it off but ya that’s the reason
@@donuchosanchz82 thank you, i moved the temp thing but now the handle turns a little more than it was , shuts offs but than continues with more water. The temp adjustment thing does not go all the way in for me.
@@JulianaOJulie if it is over rotating you may need to: set the temperature adjustment to a position to where it doesn't over rotate, or check that the stem isn't loose, or if it's an older model it may be time to replace the gasket on that stem.
@@donuchosanchz82 Im having same issue. Im using 2.5mm hex as noted in instructions but cant find it. Is it at the off position? I do remember during install it was a bit tricky but cant remember now.

It's my guess that the main valve stem wiggled out enough to where it isn't shutting off?
I just installed one and realized it was upside down. But all the PEX was good and it seems to work

what if my tub faucet has enough hot water but my shower head does not? Will this fix my issue?
