    Last week installed the same Glaser for new tile shower room. I know I will have to adjust the valve when spa is ready to use. Another very useful vid just in time. Happy New Year

    OMG this is my shower setup - except mine has. 2 settings - scalding hot and freezing cold… looks like it was installed upside down too #landlordspecial

    Thank You!! I removed and took back to Home Depot because I thought there was something wrong with it. Apreciate this.

    Thanks for sharing.
    [1] Instead of standing on the drain cover, place a rag or something else over it.
    [2] Good to know that I don't need to turn off the main water control valve for the house or an entire apt. bldg, just to adjust the temp for a single shower of a rental unit. (Simply turn the left/hot & right/cold valve screws to turn on/off the water supply.)

    Where do I go to see the link to donate $5? I just used the instructions in the video and it worked like a charm for my Glacier Bay hardware, but I don't see any link to donate.

      The link would be on my main Channel, there are eight tabs the last one says "about" and when you click on that and scroll down you will see my PayPal

    Silicone isn't needed when still new or barely used. But they do have a memory to them and will leak if they are too compressed and deformed when reused. Just like any other gasket really.

    I love your content, and I’ve always been curious what song you use in the beginning of your videos is called. I’d love to listen to it on my own, so would you mind telling me what it’s called? Once again love the content keep up the good work!

    Glacier Bay valves are garbage. At least the two that I installed about 10 yrs ago. Nothing but problems... and really cheap plating so the trim pieces also oxidized very quickly. I've always been a Kohler valve guy and just tried out the Glacier on one project because I really loved the trims they had at that moment. Very cool / industrial looking. Unfortunately the valves sucked and the plating sucked so I went back to Kohler immediately after. But, yeah, thanks to Big Brother (federal government) and frivolous lawsuits--and stupid humans in general--pretty much all shower valves have an anti-scald feature of some kind--and come set from the factory on the coldest setting. Major pain in the ass for millions of people. And who doesn't know which direction "clockwise" is??? WTF?

    • @StarrTile
      @StarrTile  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed... they are garbage but since people buy them at Home Depot I felt it was important to show a video on how to adjust the hot water

      💯💯💯 but it is what my customer insisted on

  • @twinprimeable
    @twinprimeable 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm almost positive that the "anti-scald" is not the temp stop you adjusted, but instead a pressure balancing valve to prevent a drop in cold water pressure causing scalding hot water to take over the mix.

    • @StarrTile
      @StarrTile  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly.... but by default would you not call that anti-scald ?

    • @twinprimeable
      @twinprimeable 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've always been exposed to anti-scald as a responsive valving system.
      Normally a hot limit is set so max heat is 110 at the shower head. If you have a pressure drop in the cold side only and do not have a anti-scald shower valve, the temp of the water can go way over 110 to the point where it can scald. The limiter is not preventing scalding in that case so I would not call it anti-scald.
