Great video, pretty much completely factually accurate (which is great to see), and would be a great addition to the Banana Duping page on the DK64 Wiki. Sidenote (I didn't mention this in my Caves video, and hasn't been 100% confirmed, so it's no biggie), but it's probable that you can collect the Caves GB as any kong by tagging a kong just before you enter the loading zone to the beetle race. Doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things since file deletion glitch exists though.
Fun fact: the green leaves of the background, when i was a child i used to think they were green Velveeta mac & cheese shells because they look so much like them
It's so satisfying seeing lots of golden bananas onscreen at the same time. I really get a kick out of the sheer amount of exploitable glitches in this game. 1:15 *But can they make crushing rocks seem such a breeze?*
with how glitchy this game is and how much i played it as a kid; it's remarkably unlikely that i only remember finding a couple glitches like clipping into "the void" in DKs rotating room in crystal caves
Great video as always. I might have to try some of these glitches myself. Theres a similar glitch in Super Metroid that lets you carry over super missiles, power bombs, upgrades, etc. Doesnt carry over regular missiles, but you can repeat the glitch and get pretty much any % you want. Im not sure where the number caps, but Ive gotten over 400%
11:02 - This is just a guess but I'm betting that the game completion percentage value is stored in a signed 8-bit integer which ranges from -128 to +127, whereas an unsigned 8-bit integer, which ranges from 0 to 255. I say this because I think it's interesting that either Rare decided that the game completion percentage needed to be able to be positive or negative or the dev just declared the value as a signed 8-bit integer arbitrarily. The fun fact in this is that, like Snooplax said, when using a signed integer, adding 1 to 127 causes the variable to roll over down to -128.
I mainly use the water glitch underwater for a tiny so I can get her a little earlier. I did this when I was younger and I didn’t know what I was doing, but I figured it out because I was pretty smart at what I was really doing.
From what I remember the first banana he talks about with the levers that have to be pulled in a certain pattern; the pattern should be 2-1-1-3-2. Just in case people need this it's here :)
Hey, i was thinking about glitches and i thought about how in turok 2 for 64 you can go with the warp cheat from multiplayers mode to adventure mode and kinda play the game multiplayer even if it wasn't intended. Is is possible or somebody has tried to do a thing like that? or to change whatever the game has as a code to play the adventure mode with more than one monkey at the same time?
I wanna know who decided to keep doing the lanky culture challenge 25 times… unless they knew from some other method that there would be a different type of banana
The numbers are not specific to Donkey Kong - it’s just an integer type. There are two types of numbers: signed and unsigned. Because of the sign bit on the number, the range has to be decreased compared to its counterpart.
what would happen if you tried to get an 8th banana for a Kong? Would it loop their count back to 0 or would the banana simply not count up at all and still be collected?
May I know what the trick to get banana medals after duping a file with all colored banans colected? I tried to look it up, but I couldn't find any onfo on what it is. You mentioned at the end that is is possible through a complex glitch.
Old comment, but in case someone else has this question as well, he explains at 2:48 - since the number of bananas collected by each Kong on a given level is stored in a 3-bit integer, only 7 bananas per Kong per level count, hence the cap of 280 bananas. The method you use to obtain the bananas doesn't matter (unless you were able to alter the total count somehow), there's a hard cap of 7 per Kong per level.

"Can clip through walls, with relative ease"
Read this in the DK64 rap
"Makes glitching games, seem such a breeze"
Take the W
he may move slow
he can't jump high
but this kong
broke the fucking screen, WHY?!
😂❤
I was half expecting to learn about parallel universes.
If Mario can do it, why can't DK?
@@SaiyakenPHOENIX because it’s just a waste of time because you can just fucking walk
And what do you call the file deletion glitch?
Can walk through a wall with relative ease...
As per usual
Makes duplicating bananas such a breeze!
Put your hands together if you wanna clip
He may move slow he can't jump high but this kong can clip through the walls.
Lol I heard that A1 narrating

Chunky can.
Bryan Lariviere one hell of a guy
They can make transporting rocks between loading zones seem such a breeze
3:28 OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH Banana.
Man I thought I knew about all of the glitches in this game, but I guess not. Nicely done!
with how glitchy this game is and how much i played it as a kid; it's remarkably unlikely that i only remember finding a couple glitches like clipping into "the void" in DKs rotating room in crystal caves
That is way too many bananas for DK
Sharing is caring
3:37 i go to turn this into a Diddy Kong Racing custom track
Seeing Tiny's Frantic Factory car race as a custom track would be great to see.
Hola juego domkin 64 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴

Real talk, I would love to see them add a track editor to more racing games in the future. That was half the fun of Lego Stunt Rally back in the day.
Oh yess this is just the kind of video I’ve been waiting for, great stuff buddy 👍🏻

The editing on this is slick 👌
I never knew there was so many complex glitches in DK64

I remember as a kid playing this on the day it came out, found many glitches as I played thru it many times, internet was still in its infancy.
Dude I can't believe it's been 1 year since your no Jump run I watched it the day it was released keep up the good work!😁
I’m going for the 101% right now and have 20 bananas left haha. Really cool video
This deserves way more views

I’m going to try to have Dk 64 save files with 101% 102% and -124%
Wth did i just watch i stepped into another dimension and I aint mad either😂😂😂 wild im booting up my n64 rn to do these 😂
You just earned a sub man.
Also: who finds these cutscene glitches. Mind f'ing blown.

I'm mexican and dk 64 is one of My favorite's games in My life betwen GTA San Andreas and Mario sunshine and The Best in glitches
Its still surprisingly easy to do this glitch with chunky on a pal version
HE CAN WALK THROUGH WALLS
WITH RELATIVE EASE
I wanna know who decided to keep doing the lanky culture challenge 25 times… unless they knew from some other method that there would be a different type of banana
at 6:18, if there were that many "real" golden bannanas how far would that make the water rise?
The water is lowering, not rising
@@zachellenburg5738 Are you sure about that?

Oh banana 🍌
You're going to break up this game like how Paper Mario and Mario 64 have been broken.
Keep up the videos!
This outstounds child me.
i would like to know how you install mods/rom hacks on your 64 games without using an emulator, and being able to play it on the actual console.
@anakin skyfucker i am stupid
In the old time i got to tiny prison via a Glitch
Can Krusha also get 7 bananas each level or do his bananas count towards Chunky's?
Crash: 200%
DK: -124%
Wonderful!!!
I feel like Ive already seen this video few days ago. How is that possible...
Dk😍❤
You seeing this Shinji??
For those who’s struggling with beaver bother for 101% here you go
That can’t be real!
You sound like the Burger King foot lettuce guy
This is a complement, don’t worry
How tf do you discover all of this
Chunky is OP, please nerf.
So why can you only get 280 golden Bananas with the file deletion glitch?
