    2:47 As a Korean, I found this part hilarious (you're absolutely right). The Morning Calm thing is a status that you can have with Korean air if certain conditions are met. It gives you things like access to priority checkin, free additonal luggage, limited number of free lounge access etc.
    As far as I'm aware, Korean Air did phase out those silly (and frankly insulting) First class on business seats. Current Korean first classes are only operated on extremely select routes with newer suites. Even then though, I personally think that Korean Air's premium cabins are simply not worth it.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw the first blurb of your comment and knew the video it was on in the notificaiton... and before I even opened it, I hoped it was about Morning Calm hahaha. Glad I was right!

    Was gonna mention this earlier this week, but I forgot. Regarding the seating area that divided first class and business class, Korean Air is on the verge of getting rid of first class since few years ago. Those 787 flight, I believe, was also ordered during that era. While they got rid of first class seating area, they have to continue the first class for VIPs and top tier frequent flyers. That is the reason behind having the exact same seat with different service(and area division).
    By the way, I am surprised that you did not cover the Flight of Dreams, the area in NGO with a display of first B787 aircraft, Boeing store, and many Seattle-based restaurants. NGO is known for being responsible for 30% of B787 building, and that is why there is such establishment. Having the Flight of Dreams, as well as the runway and gate viewing public bath area, is the main reason that I love NGO, before even considering its vast dining options in 4th floor.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I arrived at the airport just about 3 hours ahead of time, from Tokyo… NGO turned out to be ‘easier’ for filming than most airports, but generally I need all of that time for filming B Roll… next time! Thanks for watching 🩴

      @tfft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not from Nagoya, but it is something I'd actually pay for in some cases. I have Skyteam & Star Alliance status which I'll likely be losing next year and honeslty, priority check in (when not flying business) and priority boarding are the two things I'll miss most.

    • @silverkijh
      @silverkijh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @tfft Those ARE nice perks! I don't have any status with either of them, but keep two oneworld statuses. 😅 How about trying to get the ANA Mileage Club platinum and keeping the "lifetime" Star Alliance Gold status with that? I got the JAL version, so I'm guessing obtaining/maintaining would work similarly? Status really does take a lot of pain out of flying! Oh, by the way love your content!!! I understand the appeal of the old Intro, but I got tired of the format and music a long time ago haha. I think the new track, purposely being less upbeat is a more neutral spot to start with.
      In the past I’ve felt transitions from the upbeat intro into either 1. A crappy review or 2. A historic/grand hotel to be a bit jarring and ‘fake’ if that makes sense.

    I dunno. I have flown KE 3 times, including long haul to Las Vegas and regional to Narita. On all flights I found the crew not very warm. Fake smiles and a type of tension between themselves. I am a retired flight attendant, so I must admit I tend to observe the service flow intently. The service is good, food good, condition of the aircraft good, but I just don't enjoy the crew's vibe. Has anyone noticed this? Having said that, I would fly them again without hesitation.

Meanwhile douchy lazy channels like "Luxury travel experts" are getting like $10-20k in the last 30 days. Some educated guess..
    U have my full rooting for u. U have put full effort into ur videos, unlike him, i like ur personality and lightedness. Keep going!
    I dunno if it helps or not, but major aviation channels all show their faces. U may think u look very average and feel camera shy, but i dont think u can tell me a single one good looking aviation youtuber either lol. Channels that grow subs very fast do so by sacrificing the quality of their viewers. You should never confuse the number of subscribers with the success of a channel as in this niche, they are not necessarily related.
      There are ways I could double my subs in the next 2-3 months, quite easily. All that would do long term is hurt my channel as it would dilute my target audience. We’re playing chess, not checkers 😅
      As for showing my face, has nothing to do with what you mentioned. The only way I can ensure absolute unbiased opinions in reviews is if I can ensure no one knows who I am. Right now, I’m not ‘big’ enough for most people to care, but I don’t plan for tomorrow. I plan for 2028. Showing my face now would dramatically change what the channel could be in the future. Either way though, thanks very much 🙏🏻
