As a retired aviation professional, I can give you a possible explanation of the aircraft shuddering. As the tow bar was unhooked from the tug, it’s possible that the tow bar was at an angle (not facing forward) and the nose landing gear actuator swiveled with the tow bar still hooked up hitting the the tug that was to the side of the nose landing gear. In other words, the tow bar moved 15-20 degrees contacting the tug which was now unhooked from the tow bar. No damage to the aircraft and the tugs are built to take a licking and keep on ticking.
That definitely seems the most likely. I’m guessing in this case there would be no need for the flight crew to inspect anything since any damage (if any) would have been to the tug. Thanks for that!
As a tug driver i'm almost certain it is something related to the tow bar and the tug coming into contact. Another option is that tug hit the towbar while it was still connected to the aircraft. This is possible as the tug is always disconnected from the towbar first. I've had towbars fail and in that case normally the aicraft will return to the bay and have a short inspection. Korean may have elected to do this inspection on the taxiway, thus the 25 min hold.
Thank you for your review! I wanted to note something about the lounges in the video (as I'm watching it). As you know, Korea is pretty... conglomerate-y anywhere you go. The 2 major airlines are currently owned by conglomerates, and the terminal you're in, Terminal 2, was built to satisfy the needs of one of the major airlines, Korean Air. Lounge spaces are set more inside the terminal itself, given the understanding of the architects that lounges are to serve, quite literally, as a relaxing space. Plus, Koreans have this tendency to love luxury things, and the view of luxury in Korea is defined as a department store: no windows, modern interiors, either grayscale colors or "luxury" colors (gold, royal blue, etc.). This is why you see so many Korean lounges that are located inside of the terminal without views of the apron or the runways, given the thought "Why pay to see out the window in a lounge when you can do that next to the gate?" I understand that Korean terminals also may look... empty. But for Koreans, our view of a "sleek, luxury, and modern" is what you're seeing right now. I think that what might have happened was the ULRs or the baggage underneath might have fallen, given that they're pretty heavy and could have not been secured properly (although that would be a major issue...). Also, in my view, the seat itself and the IFE are pretty outdated, and many people in Korea have said that the seat looks too old and tacky. All in all, thanks for a great review!
I'm not sure the design of ICN has much to do with Korean's view of luxury things. ICN was designed way back in the early 90s with focus a on functionality as a hub vs aesthetics. Design trends have since changed for airports.
@@johniii8147 Although that is true for the 1st terminal and the concourse, as a person who has flown out of both the 1st terminal, 2nd terminal, and the concourse, the 2nd terminal, which was built in the 2010s and finished at the start of 2018, was built with more white tones with contrasting dark blue tones compared to the 1st terminal. Design trends have changed, as you said, but the 2nd terminal itself is not that old compared to the 1st terminal. Design wise, the colors that they chose, white and near-black blue, clearly reflect on current fashion and luxury views of Korea :D

You are by far the most professional TH-camr we watch from an extensive list. Your presenting style in superb. Thanks for the informative and to the point viewing. Keep it up.
I think Incheon International Airport looks absolutely magnificent and deserves all the accolades that it gets. It looks spacious, airy, clean, glitzy and is certainly one of the top airports in the world.
Regarding the incident at 11:10, a similar situation happened to me in SFO with a 777, except we were still at the gate about to push back. The tugs' arm broke, causing that sound loud noise you heard. We waited 30 mins before another tug came and pushed us back. Nothing was wrong with the airplane itself. The captain came over the PA and told us that that's what happened.
… always interesting, informative and entertaining, Kevin .. I like the way you’re developing your production style… thanks for your hard work before, during, and post production.. 🙏.
Nice report. I was coming off a DL frlight from SEA and connecting to this same KE 645 flight to SIN back in May. However, I was in Economy and it was a decent flight and the meal was surprisingly good. We had air vents back in cattle class. I do agree with you that the gate areas at ICN have alot of space but nothing else.
Hey Kevin, another fantastic video. I didn't comment on your first Costa cruise video but I also really enjoyed that. We have only cruised with RCL, and we love them, going upwards in their loyalty program and they are amazing with the kids. I really like the apex seats too, its too bad more airlines don't use them, heard someone comment previously that they're quite a bit more expensive but that is high density business class done right!

As an Aircraft Mechanic and former ramp agent, its most likely that the ground crew might have removed the bypass pin before removing the tow bar from the aircraft. This means that the aircraft nose wheel will be forced back into straight line while being connected to the tow bar (and perhaps the towing truck as well). This could explain the creaking sound followed by a loud bang sound as towbar got whipped along with wheel.
Thanks for the video. I'm hoping that Korean Air will have a service to Melbourne soon. At the moment, there's only a service to Sydney. How far ahead do you book your flights and do you get very good prices?

Thank you for sharing you trip. First off, I agree with you about that noises there after your aircraft was pushed back. That was the truck that was tugging your aircraft back. And then the disconnect of the pole and the elevator platform letting the nose and front wheel down. I am glad no one hit the aircraft in an accident. Anyway, your Business Class seat looked nice. Ì am glad you did not have to climb over the seat partner when getting up. I am glad you touched the blanket to see how it felt. Yes, I think some airlines don't get some things right. Well, the meal service looked nice and yes, what was wrong with eating a traditional Korean airline meal. To me that was nice you selected because you wanted to have that. Finally, I agree with you about the Korean Lounge before the flight. I guess their design and location is a little bit different. Wow, I am glad you got out of there after you finished your shower. That crowd looked like way more people!!! My last point is did you go tovthe Korean airline lounge after your flight to see how that one would be fir just additional info for you?
I find ICN a very well thought out airport. Its just so easy. Perhaps that's why they're ranked so highly. Truly some of the best seats in the sky. Man that bang sounded very intense. That shook the entire wing and engine!

You can literally recognize ICN Terminal 2 as a wider, quieter, cleaner and more modern space. Just flown KoreanAir from Amsterdam to Brisbane one in first class and one in business class I can vouch for lots of things you have said the Lounge was very difficult to find lots of seats but not much to eat and Incheon airport was fairly underwhelming with insufficient english signage. The number one thing I loved was the air crew staff. They were phenomenal so polite and obliging I could not fault them.
The reason that ICN is ranked so HIGH. Is because it’s extremely fast and very functional. Not because it has lot of option. It’s really well organized. But I have to agree that it could be quite boring… there’s no attractions that will catch your eyes… As for the lounge Koreans usually like modern designs. Some Koreans consider UAE luxury airlines quite tacky LOL. Excuse my English. I’m a Korean
That thud definitely sounds like something that shoul've been heard during landing, not pushback. For the fa to say that its normal, i would've felt uneasy myself
Look like Oman air pushed this kind of seat to the highest level: best finishes, color, design, longest bed, 2nd widest best/seat. Thank you for all infors.
I think the loud thump must've been from the sabre tiger rattling in its cage in the freight area of the plane. Sometimes you just can't keep a tiger down 🐅🐯 Maybe it was feeding time
I've still got amenity kits unused from about 1999, you never know when you might need an emergency pair of grey socks, eye shades or toothbrush with mini Toothpaste that's probably way past it's expiry date 😂
I mean, maybe…? But, in a situation like that, you’d think someone from the flight deck might just be curious to go look for themselves, no? Lol I sure would have liked to 😅
Good review with very steady photography as you moved around the terminal. I might almost think you used a steady-cam. Food, again, looked good but I don't like to see ice-cream served in the manufacturer's packaging in a premium cabin. There, a high-end comment after our mushy peas spat yesterday. 😊
I just flew this route (but on the old 2-3-2 777 without aisle access). I assume no amenity kit is provided intra-Asia? I didn't get one, you didn't mention one in your video either.
The only carriers I know of that give amenity kits on intra (east) asian routes are JL and NH but they are specific pouches just for regional flights. Thanks for watching 🩴
Great review! Have you ever considered visiting China for a trip? I think you’ll like Sanya. To me it felt like the Chinese equivalent of Bali or Phuket.
Of course, late last year I was saying “give China some time to get back into the swing of things” and now I’m saying “give China’s prices some time to come back down to reality” 😂 The cost of flying from, in or to China at the moment is just absurdly expensive (relatively speaking). Will hopefully make it back there next year.
Really excellent video. When it comes to the 2-3-2 Prestige Class sleeper seats/suites and helpful for a family of 4-6 since you can have the entire row to your family or in some cases split. When I did Prestige Class Korean Air B777-200/ER December 17th 2006 My ivy league Brother and Mother are across from me since I had the Aisle seat with two Korean bussinessmen sitting on the middle and 2nd Aisle. 2nd brother and father are on the window and aisle seat across from him.
i feel that asiana might do better with korean air’s shortcomings, i’m not sure also i look forward to you video on philipine airlines and your taipei videos! stay safe!
It was the cargo. Sometimes the cargo ground latch didnt latch properly and they slide and hit the rear wall of the cargo hold. My 13 years with fedex tells me this. Or a huge, like piano sized cargo fell out of cargo palette.
I've seen a video showing several possible activities at Incheon Airport, but I haven't seen those in person either. Maybe they are in terminal 1, but why does the biggest Korean airline not use terminal 1 then?
Yeah, but (I didn’t mention in the video) at no point while we were out there were the cargo doors reopened for an inspection. You’d think they’d want to tie everything down before flying 😅 Thanks for watching 🩴
it could be that the tow bar could have broken. i have experienced this on american airlines from LGW to DFW. they had attached the wrong tow bar and it broke when they tried to tow the plane. there was the same noises and bang
Never flown Prestige but it doesn't seem like much to write home about. Even the lie-flat seat does not come with a pad. Not worth 5X - 10X the price of economy on KA, which is very good.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 *I experienced this pretty scary event sometime ago at San Francisco International Airport: We heard a loud bang and then we felt our B737 shudder pretty hard* *Minutes later we heard banging outside our plane. Uh, oh!* 😲 *It turned out a luggage cart hit the side of our B737 and the banging was an attempt by mechanics to repair whatever damage that was done to our plane* *Our flight to Los Angeles was eventually canceled because the mechanics could not fix the damage on time* *Luckily there was another flight to LAX that was leaving shortly and we were all quickly transferred to that flight using our original boarding passes* *I bet somebody was written up* 😬

Thanks for your criticisms of Korean Air and ICN. If Korea wants to keep bragging that their airlines and airport are the best in the world, they need to step it up and look at what other truly world-class airlines are doing. In my opinion, ICN is not comparable to Singapore Changi or Doha Hamad in any way. A lounge at the airline's home without any windows is unacceptable. The only reason why Korean Air is staying afloat despite their very high prices is because of Koreans who tend to be very loyal and refuse to fly on any other airline.
Korean airlines dont seem to invest in lounges for some reasons.. it is shame compared to other airlines in East Asia. In terms of terminal2, you are not missing out anything. It is certainly a large facility without many shopping and dining options, not even small kiosks between gates heading to the each end.. as an aficionado of airport bars in US, I am insisting on installing few of them to many friends working in the airport management company(nationalized company by the way), burearcracy would not allow such thing to be opened, much like the reason why incheon does not have fast track lane.. haha I am surprised to hear that crashing noise from the aircraft(possibly). I am also surprised to hear that other passengers did not “protest” or even ask about it.
Yeah personally I wish the lounges were a bit more “grand” or had better views. But, I’m likely not their target demo, so 🤷🏼♂️ haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
It's an Asian thing, understated and conservative is our style. Even if you look at the lounges of Japanese and Taiwanese airlines, its the same story. They definitely add a lot more colour and design motives into their aircraft cabins.
Japanese lounges I’d agree, but at least they have windows. Taiwanese lounges though I’d have to disagree. China Airlines and Starlux are quite modern and EVA is borderline gaudy lol.
@@magnustan841 comparing Korean lounge with Japanese and Taiwanese is an insert to those lounges in Japan and Taiwan…. Especially considering what they are offering.. it is not a matter of being conservative and understating but what is offered in front of each of us..
At least, captain is supposed to inform to all passengers on board. Without Flight deck update, flight attendant just said what? "IT'S NORMAL." that was 100% unprofessional and insincere answer. I can simply imagine they tend to not sharing issues even if all passengers are supposed to know and they might give you alternative excuses most of time. Thank you for the video!
Yes Kevin I do agree with you on ICN being a cold large place with furnishings to boast, very much like how PEK or PVG makes me feel. Not too sure why they are rated so highly, lack of quality airline and third party lounges, coupled with the lack of any particularly useful airport amenities means arriving early makes less sense. This is no SIN, HKG or even HND for that matter. Though I have say the ICN Airport express is a great feature though.
At some point, when you fly as much as I do, you just need to trust the systems they have. Not always comfortable but, I’m certainly not a pilot so my mouth will remain shut haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
Delta flights from USA to Asia operated by Korean air 😢. Delta should offer discounts if operated by Korean air. Meals, their airplanes and services are downgraded. I miss delta's meals, airplanes and in-flight services.
Thanks for the review - all in all I find KE to be underwhelming when comparing it to other Asian carriers JL NH and SQ and that shudder/ drop would have made me so uncomfortable for the entire flight unless it was addressed by the Flight crew - no sleeping for me 😁
I not flown KAL at all, let alone in business. But I can't get over the color of those seats. If I just saw the seat and didn't know it was in a modern business class setup, I would think it was a seat from the 1960's, and not in a good way. One of the ugliest business class cabins IMO.
Loved your honest report on Korean air and ICN T2! Seems like Korean Air's not keeping up with their competitors like ANA or SQ. There were some issues here in Korea several months ago when retired staffs and flight attendants made a whistleblowing that KE is making excessive cost cuts, sacrificing the service quality. I believe that caused setbacks everywhere, including in flight meals and lounge services.
That definitely seems the most likely. I’m guessing in this case there would be no need for the flight crew to inspect anything since any damage (if any) would have been to the tug. Thanks for that!

Thanks for watching 🩴
The reason that ICN is ranked so HIGH. Is because it’s extremely fast and very functional. Not because it has lot of option. It’s really well organized. But I have to agree that it could be quite boring… there’s no attractions that will catch your eyes… As for the lounge Koreans usually like modern designs. Some Koreans consider UAE luxury airlines quite tacky LOL. Excuse my English. I’m a Korean
No worries! Thanks for sharing ✈️
It is a loud bang. I will also question too. 😮😮 thank you for good review Kevin.
Thanks for watching 🩴
That thud definitely sounds like something that shoul've been heard during landing, not pushback. For the fa to say that its normal, i would've felt uneasy myself
Sometimes, you just have to trust the people up front haha
@@tfft true, there really isn't anything much anyone can do about it
Another great video 👍not overly keen on this product. Glad you enjoyed it though

Look like Oman air pushed this kind of seat to the highest level: best finishes, color, design, longest bed, 2nd widest best/seat.
Thank you for all infors.
Agree, Oman Air uses APEX the best, easily. Thanks for watching 🩴
Thanks for the info + video!

I think the loud thump must've been from the sabre tiger rattling in its cage in the freight area of the plane.
Sometimes you just can't keep a tiger down 🐅🐯
Maybe it was feeding time
😂 You win
My opinion: Everyone loves amenity kits but once unpacked at home most of it nevet gets used.
I've still got amenity kits unused from about 1999, you never know when you might need an emergency pair of grey socks, eye shades or toothbrush with mini Toothpaste that's probably way past it's expiry date 😂
Yeah mine date back to 1998, Continental BusinessFirst 😂
Thanks, Kevin. Another great review.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
When you say the food had a "United vibe", is that code word for inedible?
Code word for uninspired and boring 😂 I think every United starter I’ve ever had has been smoked salmon and salad with lemon.
Agree that the tug, attached, was the culprit. I’d have expected a safety check after the thump…..so, maybe that was the delay?
I mean, maybe…? But, in a situation like that, you’d think someone from the flight deck might just be curious to go look for themselves, no? Lol I sure would have liked to 😅
Good review with very steady photography as you moved around the terminal. I might almost think you used a steady-cam.
Food, again, looked good but I don't like to see ice-cream served in the manufacturer's packaging in a premium cabin. There, a high-end comment after our mushy peas spat yesterday. 😊
My first ever official mushy peas spat 😂 Thanks for watching 🩴
really enjoy your videos. hope upload more frequent
More frequently than 3 times a week? 😂
The seat seemed a little bit worn or dirty out in some places (around the IFE controller... around the tray...etc...)
A bit worn, perhaps, but no- I disagree about it being dirty. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft ok, just quite worn out then... 😁
Hello! I have a question. What's the scariest flight you've been on and why?
Honestly haven’t really had one of any concern, keep in mind I enjoy turbulence lol. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft No problem! ^^ It was really entertaining :)
Thanks for sharing can't wait for your review on PAL A330 MNL- SYD
Finished the script for that like 3 minutes ago. It was… interesting 😂

Don’t worry that’s just the sound of your plane respawning! 😂😂
(wipes sweat from brow and breathes a sigh of relief...)
i feel that asiana might do better with korean air’s shortcomings, i’m not sure
also i look forward to you video on philipine airlines and your taipei videos! stay safe!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
It was the cargo. Sometimes the cargo ground latch didnt latch properly and they slide and hit the rear wall of the cargo hold. My 13 years with fedex tells me this. Or a huge, like piano sized cargo fell out of cargo palette.
So, wouldn’t they want to fix that before taking off? 😅
@tfft of course theyd. Hence the further delay right?
No, the plane just sat there. Cargo doors were never opened, no other crews ever approached the aircraft.
@@tfft you wouldn't know the cargo door opened and close sitting in the cabin. Trust me.
Were you nervous during the flight considering the incident? 😮
Not really, more surprises that it wasn’t more serious tbh. Thanks for watching 🩴
The Lounge looked very Lufthansa like. Tight but nut cosy
Thanks for watching 🩴
I've seen a video showing several possible activities at Incheon Airport, but I haven't seen those in person either. Maybe they are in terminal 1, but why does the biggest Korean airline not use terminal 1 then?
Bc they prefer to have their own terminal :)
United also needs to step up their game regarding the quality of food.
That has been a standing sentiment of mine for 2 decades... lol
Korean meal options in biz always look similar to those in economy
Generally, because they are haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
Kudos on using the official languages of Singapore. But we use simplified mandarin instead of the traditional one you used in your introduction.
Yes, has been pointed out a few times lol. Only using flags from now on. 😅

Thank you so much for making a flight quiz!
You are now obligated to be the first to guess it correctly though 😂
Yes lol I already have the airline (TG?) 😉
✅
It could be something like displaced cargo falling inside the hold.... that was indeed strange....
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Never flown Prestige but it doesn't seem like much to write home about. Even the lie-flat seat does not come with a pad. Not worth 5X - 10X the price of economy on KA, which is very good.

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 *I experienced this pretty scary event sometime ago at San Francisco International Airport: We heard a loud bang and then we felt our B737 shudder pretty hard* *Minutes later we heard banging outside our plane. Uh, oh!* 😲
*It turned out a luggage cart hit the side of our B737 and the banging was an attempt by mechanics to repair whatever damage that was done to our plane* *Our flight to Los Angeles was eventually canceled because the mechanics could not fix the damage on time*
*Luckily there was another flight to LAX that was leaving shortly and we were all quickly transferred to that flight using our original boarding passes* *I bet somebody was written up* 😬
I had the same experience at SFO. United to LAX...luggage truck rammed the plane. Canceled flight. Night to rebook.
Thanks for sharing ✈️.
Someone's sorry mf ass was kicked into orbit for doing that to your plane!.🙄
I believe that was a 777-300, non ER?
Nope, this is an ER (HL7202)- the registration number is always in my opening graphic card. To my knowledge their non-ERs all have their old J cabin. Thanks for watching 🩴

Korean Air is one of the few airlines in the world to have a Five Star rating from Skytrax. That speaks for itself.
Yes it speaks loud and clear, “Korean Air paid Skytrax for a 5-star rating…” Everyone knows Skytrax is a marketing tool and nothing more.

Likely only to be compounded by the merger. Thanks for watching 🩴
Apex suite business class is awesome
Agree! Thanks for watching 🩴
Korean airlines dont seem to invest in lounges for some reasons.. it is shame compared to other airlines in East Asia.
In terms of terminal2, you are not missing out anything. It is certainly a large facility without many shopping and dining options, not even small kiosks between gates heading to the each end.. as an aficionado of airport bars in US, I am insisting on installing few of them to many friends working in the airport management company(nationalized company by the way), burearcracy would not allow such thing to be opened, much like the reason why incheon does not have fast track lane.. haha
I am surprised to hear that crashing noise from the aircraft(possibly).
What about CHAMPAGNE?
Did you want a documentary on the stuff?
At least, captain is supposed to inform to all passengers on board. Without Flight deck update, flight attendant just said what? "IT'S NORMAL." that was 100% unprofessional and insincere answer. I can simply imagine they tend to not sharing issues even if all passengers are supposed to know and they might give you alternative excuses most of time. Thank you for the video!

I dunno maybe Vaseline is all someone might need on a quick stop over 😜
I knew someone would say this, but I wasn’t expecting it from you 😂
How under 1 year baby will travel in business class?
🤔
Yes Kevin I do agree with you on ICN being a cold large place with furnishings to boast, very much like how PEK or PVG makes me feel. Not too sure why they are rated so highly, lack of quality airline and third party lounges, coupled with the lack of any particularly useful airport amenities means arriving early makes less sense. This is no SIN, HKG or even HND for that matter. Though I have say the ICN Airport express is a great feature though.

Delta flights from USA to Asia operated by Korean air 😢. Delta should offer discounts if operated by Korean air. Meals, their airplanes and services are downgraded. I miss delta's meals, airplanes and in-flight services.
Personally I'm much rather have this plane, this seat and this meal over anything offered by the US big 3. Thanks for watching 🩴
