I've been a drummer and a drum teacher for quite a few decades, and I want to say that you are dong an excellent job. Your exercises are not frustratingly difficult for a drummer of modern ate experience, and you organize your lessons very well. As we all know there are a lot of drumming videos that are pretty useless except for the ego gratification of the "teacher' but your stuff is very, very good. Congratulations, and keep up the excellent work. I am enjoying everything you do!

Hey, Rob! I discovered your channel about 3 weeks ago. I've worked very hard on your inverted double stroke roll, 4800 strokes 20 minute exercise (did the exercise many times & still do), traditional grip, and now your triplets. I cannot believe how much I've gotten out of these exercises. I love your teaching style! You are short and to the point, and a damned fine drummer. And, most importantly to me, you are an even better teacher! I'm 60 and have been drumming since the late sixties and it just goes to show we never stop learning, and perfecting, even the basics. Using a metronome is absolutely critical with any exercise. It will take you where you need to go and get you there a lot quicker! Thanks for your channel. I am really enjoying it right now.

Have been a huge fan of your channel for a few months now. Just got back into serious drumming after focusing on other stuff (composition mainly) for a long, long time. All of your videos are great, but this is the one that changed me, like, all of a sudden. These exercises are so simple, and so clearly explained by you, and yet after just a few hours with them I feel like I've made a major breakthrough in my understanding of how to get around the kit. All I can say is please keep this magic coming.

Hey Rob,nice playing. Just to take things further. Use the Louie Bellson Modern reading text books 1st reading page and read all the figures with the bass drum. Up beat =RLF,Down beat=FRL. Lots more variations, much more interesting and you learn to improvise and read basic rhythms at the same time. Same principle for the 6stroke roll. Any questions let me know.

Wow I really enjoyed this lesson! The RLF and FRL were the first chops I played around with a few years back and then I eventually learned the six stroke roll so this was so cool how you tied all of these triplet ideas together. Could you possibly make a lesson on connecting these triplet chops into linear ideas?

Hi Rob, recently found your channel and it's inspiring me so thank you. Can I ask what size bass drum your kit has please? You seem to manage to have decent sized toms, set at a very slight angle - not so far off flat - and yet still sit comfortably above them. I struggle to create this on the various kits I play at my local practice studio but I'm guessing the difference is you are either much taller than me (so you can place them however you like and still sit comfortably above them ) or your bass drum is smaller or possibly a combination of both. Thanks
