Hello Andy we did this after traveling from Melbourne. Same company for bike hire we played it safe as same bike in oz 500x Roads where fantastic but I used a Tom Tom and I forgot where the power switch was and sat navigation battery failed,with wife in a panic used our phones now after watching your Norway trip ( sorry late viewing) we need to plan a trip their now thanks 😊
Love Gran Canaria. Great for biking, motorcycles and cyclists, on and off road. Stunning scenery. Had my heart in my mouth as your footage seemed to show you were taking a few chances on lots of those bends.
I totally agree, although i didn’t get to try the off roading this time, it looked like it had potential! I think the wide angle made things look sketchier than they were. I only ever run wide or cut a corner when ive already seen for sure that nothing is coming and it serves my ‚line‘. I quite like living and with my advancing years, healing would take longer than I’m ready to give up riding for! 😜 Funny how a different perspective changes the perception though. I watched it worrying that the riding looked a bit boring, as i remembered it being far more exciting!

I've not watched an AMC video for a long time, but had a bit of time to watch this, this morning. Absolutely fantastic ride, I've been to Teneriffe a few times but this gas put me right in the mood for going again and hiring a bike. Now, how to convince the missus I'll be gone for a week and she has to look after the kids...
I really liked it Garth. I got more and more comfortable throughout the week and by the end i was chucking it into corners harder than i think i ever did the Honda! Sound was a bit ‚meh‘ and vibes at the top end a little intrusive. Otherwise a fantastic bike. Though i surprisingly wouldn’t swap my Tuareg for one

It is a dirty job, but I’m glad I’ve got to do it! 😜 I think the bike did sound a bit better in real life, but TBH nowhere near as intoxicating as the new Aprilia sounds.
Awesome trip! When I saw a video of Schaaf (1000PS "Camera boy") covering Canary Ride and the Roads on GC I had to book a flight there. It will be in January. One week riding a Honda NC750X DCT. And now that I've seen your video I can't wait to finally get there. The scenery is great and the roads really are bonkers. But I think I have to change some of my trips. Looks like 280km a day might be a bit much. Thank you for another great video!
My pleasure! I totally agree. 280km is definitely a bit much. You want to leave time to stop and sit in the shade every once in a while too! To be fair, you can see SO many bends in 150km, you’ll not miss the mileage 👍🏻

I'm afraid I actually don't anymore, no. It was OK but with niggles for ages. Then in Norway the second time, it just started doing really crazy stuff. The icing on the cake was when it created a 120km detour because I missed a turning, The destination was only 10km away!! I realised after I'd been riding for 20 minutes and thought the journey really should have been over already. Straight after that trip, the Beeline was retired and I got a Garmin Zumo XT.
Ha I remember spending an afternoon surfing them dunes on a large piece of random plastic think I enjoyed it more than the kids 😂 ps that dessert x is a bit quiet my multistrada with same engine is much louder granted mainly intake roar .😁

Great stuff Andy, the incredible roads and scenery plus the varied weather conditions made it really interesting, the misty section through the trees was particularly atmospheric (no pun honest😅) . Sort of weird and time-shifting hearing about the late lamented 1090....
Maspalomas aka The place of many pigeons, famous for having none. Also walking the dunes at night when I was there risked a prick in the arm or the arse depending on your poison. We did that road on our hire car, which ended up with boiling brakes after a lot, a very lot of enthusiastic driving. Its bloody wonderful, always wished I'd had my bike with me.💕
I had heard the rumours. We sidestepped the sunset photo session as a result! 😂 Can totally imagine the cooking brakes. We had a car the week before and it was all i had to pull myself together and drive ‚normal‘ while the Mrs was watching me!

Thanks! You’ll have a great time! I’m afraid I don’t know about the visor. They’re obviously based on the same shell design (used to be a Uvex helmet, that got licensed out to Nishua and Klim) but it’s possible the visor mechanisms are different. Nishua even have a non carbon version and the listed visor for that has a different part number to the carbon one.
great video and content as always Andy.... BUT!! How come that eeeevery time brits come to anywhere in Spain use flamenco-ish music for their videos? (yeah, I'm looking at you too, Henry Cole :) ) keep in mind that flamenco has nothing to do with the Canary Islands, in fact only applies to Andalucia.. just my 2 cents
I feel your pain, i do. Like how everybody thinks that all of Germany is Bavaria! Sadly there’s not a huge amount of traditional Canarian music available on Epidemic Sound (which i use for all of my music). It’s either flamenco or cuban mostly! If you have any suggestions for a better direction, I’m all ears! But bear in mind that i can’t just use any music as it has to be properly licensed 😓
When we visited Maspalomas it was infested with nudists! Elderly exhibitionists were out in force. I don't know if that's normal or what was going on. Slapping, drooping & swinging bits were everywhere, and it put us off the whole place😅
Great content but like i've said before it's way to over edited making the whole thing frantic and choppy to relax and enjoy. And too many shots of you just sitting on yer bike
Thanks, i think! 😜 Sadly if i were to create the video that want, you would either find it desperately boring, or you’d be the only one who would watch it. The rear views keep the video flowing, because I’m afraid the front views don’t stitch together like they appear to here. There are actually straight bits and bits where you can’t see the scenery. Just cutting between those bits, without a short ‚distraction‘ makes for a far more jarring experience. I made a concerted effort to keep this video moving, but without chopping everything about too much OR just having nothing but musical interludes. I understand your opinion entirely. Naturally I can’t please everyone, but I also want to create something that I would watch and it seems I’m somewhere between what you would like to see, and what most of the other creators are putting out. Too choppy gives me PTSD vibes, but long shots where nothing is happening also bore me to tears. It’s also important to remember that this footage is not directed, scripted, planned or practiced. So i can only do the best with that which i have. If the shot becomes uninteresting or stale, then I’m obviously going to switch it up to something different. Unfortunately I’m fighting very much a losing battle against audience retention, ever decreasing attention spans and heavily promoted short form content. I’d love for you to keep watching, but i understand if it gives you a headache. Just be grateful that there’s no 360° footage in this series! 😆

I drove those roads in the mid eighties. Back then there were no guardrails in the mountains. My nerves were shot by the end of the day!

They were all about 150km max i think. Plenty of time to stop and look around and also do certain bits again if they were good!

Thanks, i think! 😜 Sadly if i were to create the video that want, you would either find it desperately boring, or you’d be the only one who would watch it. The rear views keep the video flowing, because I’m afraid the front views don’t stitch together like they appear to here. There are actually straight bits and bits where you can’t see the scenery. Just cutting between those bits, without a short ‚distraction‘ makes for a far more jarring experience. I made a concerted effort to keep this video moving, but without chopping everything about too much OR just having nothing but musical interludes. I understand your opinion entirely. Naturally I can’t please everyone, but I also want to create something that I would watch and it seems I’m somewhere between what you would like to see, and what most of the other creators are putting out. Too choppy gives me PTSD vibes, but long shots where nothing is happening also bore me to tears. It’s also important to remember that this footage is not directed, scripted, planned or practiced. So i can only do the best with that which i have. If the shot becomes uninteresting or stale, then I’m obviously going to switch it up to something different. Unfortunately I’m fighting very much a losing battle against audience retention, ever decreasing attention spans and heavily promoted short form content. I’d love for you to keep watching, but i understand if it gives you a headache. Just be grateful that there’s no 360° footage in this series! 😆

@@AndyManCam Sadly, I think those of us willing to sit and watch a 28 minute video of someone riding a bike are already a dying breed (though the commentary is of course riveting and entertaining... we don't all come here just for your good looks...? ;) :p :D :D ). I'm up for that, but I suspect, not many are not, any more, as you say... Keep up the stylish and fantastically put together cinema style short films, is all I can say, if at all possible...!!! :) :D 👍
