I had one of these when I was in Korea and they were delicious. Yes there's a lot of calories in them but who cares. Life is about enjoying things once and a while.
Is it sweet? I'm assuming I was seeing granulated and powdered sugar in there but also lots of butter and garlic obviously. Not sure how i feel about that combo.

Make it yourself! it's just butter-enriched white bread. I like Josh Weissman's recipe but they are all fairly similar. Flour-yeast-salt-water-mix-add butter-mix again-knead-rise-shape-proof-bake - eat! And if you want an even softer, naughtier bun - I also enjoy his Hokkaido-style milk-bread dinner rolls.

I do actual manual labor and have to put my wet muddy boots on a high powered boot dryer and ring my clothes out before I put them in the washer when I get home... no time to do all that stuff you listed😂
@@BuffaloNickel9 Making enriched white bread is the easiest cooking you could ever do if you have the tools for it. It does take some investing time, money, and learning to do it but the results are easy and delicious. It's either that or trade favours for a bread baking friend. Most of us bake to relax after our own manual or not-so-manual jobs.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm so glad they didn't have any music or voiceover. Although a breakdown of the recipe wouldn't have been bad it was nice to simply have the sounds of the kitchen to accompany the process.
I know of one bakery in Ashburn VA that serves this. If you live in the area (highly unlikely, I know), the Lotte grocery store has a bakery space rented out to Le Pain bakery, with lots of Asian dishes. Their cream cheese garlic bread is delicious (and everything else they have too).

This isn't Korean "street" food per se. You won't find garlic bread sold anywhere but cafes or bakeries. Also this is a far cry from the western idea of garlic bread. Just check out 3:11 and see all that sugar! It's more considered a dessert pastry here. Give it a try if you ever visit, but be prepared for sweet garlic bread instead of salty garlic bread!

@@miket2951 Fair enough, but try spreading cream cheese on regular salty garlic bread. It makes a savory creamy garlic bread that's not super sweet. Korean garlic bread, on the other hand, involves hella tons of sugar and tastes like a sweet pastry.
