    Visually stunning. Heart-rending.

The Passion of Joan of Arc is a juggernaut, a profoundly beautiful film and one that I place in the category of superhero tales and it stands far above the rest.

First time I watched this i was caught unawares, having no clue to what I was about to experience. Needless to say I was absolutely floored. When TBS played it a second time, the film began, the music began to play and I immediately started to cry. The first time I heard Einhorn's score i found it VERY powerful and effective but it was a chamber music style I hadn't heard, the first time by brain had to absorb it and ponder over it. The second time I suppose my brain was more prepared and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Richard Einhorn's score and Dryer's film are a perfect match, it's obvious Einhorn was truly inspired to create a score that was worthy of this masterpice of a film and he nailed it.

I told myself I would never watch a silent film because I thought they were slow and boring but I realized they’re not that bad and if I had been born 70 years earlier I would’ve had to watch those movies or not watch anything at all.

No that's not Jimmy Dore, it's Ben Mankiewicz. But I understand your confusion, they do look a little bit alike.
