Nooo! Dont let go now, time to forge a block and crank up the boost my friend 💯👍. Love the content....(edited) lucky guy, but the K24 makes a great replacement for later on ✌️
I don't CARE what everyone says about the K24 being the ALMIGHTY Big Block torque monster! I too run a BUILT and BOOSTED K20a2 in an EG hatch. You can't Fucking beat these engines. Tried and true! This video proves how good and stout they are.
Much appreciated man I’ll be making an update video on what’s going on lately! My bad I know it’s been a while but I’ll try to be more consistent with the content 🏎🙏
My guess o rings burning motor oil or valve stem seals, slowly all those miles high altitude e.g., didnt notice your turbo excessive wear, catch cans good , Denotation horrible keep your head up G you can diagnose and tell us soon and got to finish video lmfao love this build !🙏🏽🤙🏾👌🏾
I'm glad everything turned out alright man. I heard that knock and thought it was done for. Glad that wasn't the case. Slowly build the k24 man. Rod, piston, bearings and you'll be golden. And maybe we can link up some day in NJ/PA. My buddy's and I have boosted Honda V6s. One is making 506, the other is building a motor to make 550 and I built my motor and made 630 but changing a few things up to see if I make it to 675.
Damn that sucks man. Hopefully it gets back on the road soon. Didn't know you were in Virginia that's pretty tight, I'm down here in the Fredericksburg area.
The bad plug and coil were most likely arcing the spark plug hole making the knock. You should check why there was no oil on the dipstick even though there was oil in it as well. If I were you I would keep the k20 in and slowly build up the k24 😎
I've been wanting a type s or an 8th gen civic si, after watching this I'm confused on what would be best to build, I see people k24 swap a k20 already and other people put the k20 head on the k24 block. Love your car dude it inspires me to what I want to do
You can most definately re use the cyl head. Possibly have to repair the plug hole. If you dont use it let me buy it. The turbo seems perfectly fine to me, also it's ball bearing not journal bearing. Likely the oil pump is fine also easy to take apart and inspect. Put the 20 head on the 24 block. I'm in va also, i specialize in k series we dyno tune them weekly, sometimes a few a week.
Order a type s oil pump and use the vtc off the k20 and run it. I made 671 with this set up and it was reliable. Probably already knew that tho lol. That oil on the turbo is normal tho
I just had the same issue in my cobalt SS, cyl 3 spark plug missing the electrode, all plugs fouled. Valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals worn causing a misfire. Just fixed it yesterday.
So ...Not sure if this applies...but i have a 06 turbo type s...I have a very similar setup as yours..3582r modified cx kit , tial gate, blow off, e85 1150 grams injectors..etc. I had a scare....on a small trip..The t-fitting for the oil feed to the sensor came loose i guess...where the oil pressure switch is. Car dropped all the oil out just like that under the car. The only thing that saved me was i happened to see the oil light flicker on the dash so i pulled over to look at it right away. I actually broke the fitting trying to tighten it back. Drove to Home depot in another car to get a brass fitting and a tap kit to remove the old one. I made it home. Went out and bought all new oil fittings/ t fittings/ oil feed line..Now i run the oil feed line tied off to the fire wall. I found out that engine movement caused the old line to bind up on my a/c line and it shook it loose. Make sure you upgrade that stuff for quality lines and fittings! Even loose the feed line can dump oil and you won't even notice it. No worries..like you said it is what it is...part of that boost life.
Nice bro thank god your rsx is good god bless you and god bless you that you have a brother that it could help you in situations like these because the way it sounded it sounded like a spun a bearing how long have you had your car turbo because I want to turbo mine also stay safe happy for you and your car tell your brother he’s cool as fuck just like you god bless you and happy new year man

At least you got it when it started knocking. It can be rebuilt

it’s time for a Frankenstein AWD build 🫣

How much oil did your car used to burn before your trip to NY? Like would you have to top up frequently?
@@alperena4698 not more than any other Honda fr
If there was no leak, you probably fried all your piston rings and it all got burnt up.
My 06 Type S is stock with 130k and uses about a quart every 500 miles if I'm driving high speed across country cannonball style.

Hahahah foreal tho
Pull the dump pipe off , look for oil in there , could be the turbine turbo oil seal gone that will drain your oil out of your engine quick smart.
Surely the car would've spat out heaps of blue smoke if that happened tho?
