      Yeah so... I know you just want a youtube collaboration, but it is extremely easy to bracket cam angles and find what it likes, that doesnt' make him a wizard.
      As for vtec, you set it low, you set it high, you place it where at the point where both torque curves cross...

    Engine Analyser works out critical engine loads and red circles that based on rods gudgeon pin, sectional area and piston and crank composition. Honda cranks ( the crankshafts not the people, lol) are frequently tuftrided so the conrods can operate with reduced pin and rod journal sizes. Length of rod to stroke is on the lower end too. Soooooo....its wrist pin quality and rod cross sectional area. The avoidance of lean fuel and heavy detonation will normally look after pistons. And the adjusted RH Pist Rin Gap. Great info. Hondas engine plants, from Japan to Maryland, normally have the same metal specification and safety factors. When the Dust Up Bust Up happens, its often rods.

      at a .5 BSFC-it take .5 pounds of fuel to make 1 hp, so every pound of fuel is 2 hp. 100-pound injector can make 200 hp (many good NA motors can do better than .5 BSFC) Boosted is less

The regular gm engines have sand cast heads that start to erode once the boost gets to high and the stock rods will buckle at about 350ft lbs according to GMs testing... I've seen a k20 a2 make 600whp on a stock bottom end with e85
    K24 is great if you're going for all motor, but in the case of boost you want the k20 for the better rod to stroke ratio, it lets you take advantage of more rpm, it's not hp that kills these factory bottom ends its torque. Plus thicker cylinder walls for a better head gasket seal 86mm vs 87mm bore of the k24
    If you're going to Big Bang a k series get a k20a series

    Rods can be broken, look at John Doc’s Balcksheep after he fixed his valve spring problem! Folded up a very strong aftermarket steel rod, at something like 38 psi boost. If I remember, he had 2080 hp on a hub dyno at 25 psi, so that 427 LS was making some power when it blew! It would be very interesting to see how far you can go with the K24.

    I think we defiantly have to do a big bang on a k24! They are great motor's and i sure would like to see there bottom end limit.

    Richard, I have made 700 on a K24 easily with good fuel on a stock head. If you did nothing more than Cams,Springs,Retainers....I think it would be cool to see the max flow from one of those heads......They supposedly will flow 290-320 cfm. I know with a proper port job, they can flow up to 350-360cfm.

    Yesssse, big bang k24. And maybe do a 1jz vs 2jz big bang. I've always heard the one Jay has stronger rods cuz they're shorter so it can make more power in theory but it has half a litre left displacement the 2J can you mythbusters this?

      I still like the vg30s they never got much love but right now there is a guy that has ran an 8.97 in a 300zx with one out of a maxima. He claims stock long block and gaskets, and that's crazy fast if it the case.

    You will not be able to run the K24 stock bottom end (safely) at 1000HP but I'd love to see it.

    somewhere around 675fwhp. if a rod doesnt bend due to torque at lower rpm, then youll most likely lift a head gasket first.

  • @timothybayliss6680
    @timothybayliss6680 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When you says it's a k24a, I assume it's a k24a2. The intake looks to be from an a2. If you were going to do a big bang test I would really like to see it happen with the a1 variant that is stock in accords and cr_vs that only makes 160hp. They are almost free and as they come from grocery getters they usually aren't whipped to death. There is also ten times as many is salvage yards than the a2 version because of how popular the twin vtec engine is as a swap.
    Your also getting close to how much power this turbo can make. Turbonetics rates this fan for up to 625hp and e85 and the relatively high compression will make sure you will get all of it, but there isn't too much room left. Your right about the injectors being too small as well. The duty cycle must have been over 95%

      @richardholdener1727  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always wonder why we don’t see more people using the Total seal Gapless Turbo rings in these forced induction applications to help out with cylinder sealing and to cut down on the combustion gas blow by, and the blow by gasses then pressurizing the crankcase, wouldn’t those Total seal Turbo rings help to make a bit more power and make daily driving the beast a bit easier on oil maintenance with less oil contamination?

    • @timothybayliss6680
      @timothybayliss6680 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Richard has said he has tried them and they work good, just for most stuff he isn't gonna buy a $100 set of piston rings for a $200 junkyard engine. If i was gonna drive on the street with one of these I would spend the money. If it was a jy race engine that might only last a month I wouldn't bother

    • @donnelhuddleston2478
      @donnelhuddleston2478 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Timothy Bayliss that’s exactly what I was talking about,
      Using the Total Seal gapless Turbo rings for the street for long term street use, but even then I don’t hear anything about guys using them in their street turbo engine builds.
      Thanks for your response.

    I really wish someone would run a test like this on the k24a4 accord motor. I would love to see them side by side (A2 vs A4). Same turbo / boost pressure etc.. and see the difference. They are MUCH cheaper than a k24A2. The main difference is 200 HP vs 160. The accord has no vtec on the EX side and a 25 degree I vtec on the intake side that engages at 2500 RPM ish. It's designed for grunt not high RPM HP however - I feel a GT35 or even a GT45 would work really well on this setup.

    Don't forget an oil pump and balance shaft delete. Ported head, cams, correctly tuned aftermarket intake, throttle body, tuned header and correctly sized turbo, A2W, headgasket, studs and enough fuel, I think it'll do it(on an engine dyno). Just gotta keep the torque low and power/boost curve up in the higher RPM.
