    That XIAOMI lamp you can change color temperature, press down the power button and rotate. Also the yeelight app can also control this lamp, cus its made by yeelight. Also after you register yeelight app you can turn on and off with google asistant. Also idk if it makes you feel better MI home appp on IOS doesnt require extra permission. Iv owned this lamp for years and they do update the firmware on the lamp once in a while.

      Yeelight all also has way less rights. The Mi home app Ist literally for like 50+ xiaomi smart home products and thus needs all those rights.
      Best thing about the app is that you can use it with IFTT/Google Assistant/Alexa but also you can set timers to wake you up.
      It's so much better getting woken up by light than with a tone

    • @ironbear7
      @ironbear7 6 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      bobsagget823 because the app is not only designed for the lamp ,it can actually control all smart home devices made by xiaomi and they are tons of hardware.

    I also have a laptop setup with a desktop screen and I don't dock my laptop. The reason being a second screen is improving my productivity, especially as a non-native speaker 'working' in academia. On the 27' screen I can have two documents open comfortably and on the laptop 17' screen I can have my dictionary, database or notebook software whatever. It's more comfortable than a single screen, and I think that's the advantage of a laptop setup.
    (Also when you have a second screen working with Photoshop you can view your other photos while developing one, which is really convenient.)

      Chris Del Rio while both displays are on go to Windows settings and make your monitor your main display or if you have Windows ten just project on your other display

      In windows 10 go to battery then go to advanced setting then it has an option for what happens when you close the lid and then click “do nothing” when lid is closed

    Great video as always.
    If I were to change up a few things on your setup though, this is what I would have chosen:
    Monitor: Keep the Alienware man!
    Mouse: Microsoft Surface Mouse
    Keyboard: Microsoft Surface Keyboard
    Headphones: Microsoft Surface Headphones 2

    I use an IKEA napkin holder GREJA to be the laptop stand. Dell D3100 to connect a Samsung 28" 4k and another older 22" 1080 Acer monitor. They are held on a dual monitors mounting arms.

    Another excellent video. You could probably do a nice simple DIY on that headphone stand by adding a concrete base, or gluing on a small piece of marble.

    The downside of that laptop stand (that I like btw) is that you have to take out the machine every time you turn it on (since most laptops have the power button on the inside)
