These are so nice. I feel like the trans and the shifts align with the cars mission. I definitely would not want an SL to be a razor sharp weapon. Mercedes did an excellent job with this car. Beautiful car inside and out with an outstanding drive train.
@@panzer3279 it does have ceramics if you see yellow brake calipers. Unless his market is different over there in Germany. In USA yellow brake calipers means ceramic brakes. You cannot get red calipers as a ceramic option.

The SL was a luxury convertible really, so it makes sense why they have put a smoother transmission in it to go with the slightly softer suspension. Also, new prototype amg gt’s is being seen at the Nurburgring so if they made this razor sharp, it would sort of make the two cars far too similar.

Massively powerful 15.4-inch front brakes feature red or yellow 6-piston calipers, depending on model and trim. honestly makes sense putting steel brakes on it and having the ceramics as an option because the carbon ceramics made by amg should be used like proper race brakes but the average 63 sl owner wouldnt use it as that. also most of it makes sense considering the way mercedes is going. ofc some things should be done with more consideration of the wider opinion on race cars and production cars as sports cars. but overall great review

it actually does 3.0-3.1 on a decent road. Renntech dino'ed the car at 625hp. they also have a 721 HP tune. Scary business, and easily a sub 3.0 0-60.

For the normal driver its probably fine. But in comparison to Porsches PDK or Audi’s DCT this seems very laggy

They already released a GPS-video of this SL: 316 km/h on the speedo were 303 km/h on GPS. So 328 km/h should be exaclty 315 km/h on GPS.
Except I have a radar detector whose speed is tracked by GPS. There's a 1 mph difference. That guys GPS was trash.
