I’m genuinely so worried about labours choice to keep the tories plan for the DWP. Letting the DWP view our bank accounts and our financial history, when under 3% of people on these benefits have been found fraudulent seems so unnecessary and sick. Add on to that the risk of getting our benefits slashed by around 50%. It’s a very scary time to have health issues /unable to work in this country.
@@basfinnis ikr, I appreciate it's to his credit that he doesn't take cheap shots at his detractors and betrayers ... but if anyone deserves a free pass to come out swinging once in awhile it is him.
@@clivet3252 My fellow Novara viewers wont like to admit how true this is, but clearly it is. It's just not in Corbyn's character though, he is a humble, down to earth guy. He can be scorching though, and that's what we need from him.
We would not be the first country to stop wealth from leaving the country, we just need a government willing to implement it. The wealthy are still wealthy and the rest of us are still struggling after Reeves budget, Labour did not go far enough to reduce inequality.
I love Jeremy, he's right on the insane spending on military, we shouldn't renew trident, but I felt he hinted at giving Ukraine arms/money to defend their democracy is the wrong thing to do, he also referenced the genocide in gaza as a war rather than genocide, his takes on issues outside of the UK doesn't seem to be his strong point
Yeah, Corbyn was never great on foreign policy issues, same goes for his stance on Scotland and Scottish Independence (which is kinda a foreign policy issue too.) Honestly, without being a warmonger, the global situation, especially regarding Russia, is grounds for sensible military spending, but I don't think Trident needs to be a big part of that, let France hold the nukes to threaten Russia with, and lets spend our military budget on actually having enough tanks, troops and ammunition to help keep Europe safe from Russian aggression and from dictatorial forces in general...
Don’t be conned by this latest combined ‘Rachel Truss’ budget. Indeed. After all the dilly dallying since being elected in presenting Labour’s so called first historic budget after fourteen years it might have seemed, to the more impressionable voter, as being very clever the way Labour fiscally disguised it as being a traditional ‘Labour for workers’ ‘anti Tory rich’ budget. However it won’t work, as economic history has proved, and the already quivering markets and pension industry will thwart it in no time. Under capitalism, it’s always markets and finance which really govern all elected capitalist governments and this willl be no exception.
I thought the budget was going to be an Osborne-esque austere budget, but all it had was tax rises to keep the status quo. So better than I thought, but not nearly anything to be glad about.
Cgt should have been raised to income tax levels and pensions being bought into iht should have had a exempt threshold to avoid taxing the smaller pension pots
I used to be jeremy corbyns number 1 supporter, but his spinelessness on russia and other countries makes me glad he lost. Voice for peace? What peace is that? Surrendering to Russia? What diplomatic way out is that? What if Russia doesnt accept your ideas for diplomacy? The ability of capital to "run away" is a myth peddled by the wealthy. As Gary from Gary's Economics points out all the time: governments HAVE the power to increase taxes on the very wealthy (both people and industries) and prevent them "running away", they just don't want to because, often, the people making decisions are offered cushy jobs and other post-parliament rewards. Parties like Labour now are also obviously bankrolled by donations from the very rich. John McDonnell's budget in 2017 was radical, but he went and sold it to the City by saying that, even though taxes were coming, they would be spent on things that would improve lives across all wealth levels, and provide CERTAINTY and stability (which is what big capital really cares about).

Jeremy Corbyn the real PM Britain needs.
Yes perhaps but talk politics, not personal emotion about leaders and personalities.
Can't stand Reeves smug, patronising tone. The Starmer Party is full of vacuous, unrelateable robots.
She has a right to be smug. She conned fools to vote her into power.

If you're on benefits you should vote Tory.
How about taxing the Royal family? Also, cut their grant.
Love to see you Helena! Yaas! The best addition to Novara Media yet!!

JC spot on again, the UK doesn't need to be a global player in regards to military might.
I've already gone to the Greens and I'm never going back to labour all that time Starver, Wes and RR.
With every passing day I am so glad I voted Green, a small price for peace of mind knowing none of this is on me.

Why are the working class paying and the billionaire class just sitting pretty?
Because we live in a plutocracy
because large sections of the working class voted for eton educated boris over jeremy, they had there chance.
Billionaires pay a large proportion of taxes, so they do. Get rid of them and lose billions in revenues.
@@stephenseagull5740It's not proportional though. Not nearly, it's why everyone but the very few year on year become worse off in real terms

About the Wealth Tax: they are affraid of capital running away from the UK.
If it can "run away" it was never here in the first place.
No I'm sorry but it's more like they have been lobbied and Starmer has taken their money.
