Make sure that you've turned on the arpeggiator, and turned up its rate (Frequency MG 2), and also that your current patch's Attack time is fast enough to hear a sound immediately.
Thanks! Just got my pre order sent today. It’ll be here this weekend! That was a happy surprise :). You keep it at the stock 9khz or bump it up to 15khz-20khz?
@@mattg082 Will probably tune it up to 15 kHz. I wonder if there's any downside to doing this in terms of the overall sound? Here's the explanation thanks to Starsky Carr th-cam.com/video/caKbgSkvLc8/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the video. I believe you had the LFO going to the envelope at the same time you were experimenting with the pulse width. Just saying because the repeating notes were getting a little annoying. 🤪. Better to have a sustaining tone to really hear the effect of the pulse width modulation. Anyhoot - good job & cheers.
no it was cutting out because the pulse was going through zero - nothing to do with the envelopes - because the intensity was set high - you can hear the note sustain when to was reduced - so you were hearing the effect of the pwm - anyhoo
I received mine yesterday. Last night, I hooked it up to my keyboard speaker and no sound came out of either the output or headphone jacks. Obviously I had the volume up on the master control and VCOs. I tweaked all the knobs and still nothing. Then I let my friend mess around with it while I made dinner and when I came back it was finally playing. He had no clue how it started working. The mystery is driving me crazy.
@@ErikHawk It works great now. I asked people on Reddit about whether or not it needed to "warm up" but they made fun of me. They said that's not an actual thing and it's all about tuning the oscillators.
It's not the best for pads. It's better for lead sounds and solo lines. For pads, I'd get something with more polyphony. Also, something with built-in effects is always a nice plus for pads. I've been impressed by the Korg Prologue. But in the $600 price range check out the Behringer DeepMind 6. Also, the Behringer UB-Xa is coming soon!
while not one of these said guys, i am generally disinterested in most thing behringer. i have 2 of their mixers and a set of speakers which are of not so great quality which makes it hard for me to trust them to put out quality synths. the monopoly looks and sounds solid though...
Great review AND lesson in 23 minutes! May I ask what reverb and amplifier you used? Thanks
Thank you. This was recorded into an Avid 192 audio interface. The reverb was probably the Waves Renaissance Reverb.
I enjoy the synth very much - but a video explaining the arp synch function would be cool - thanx for the video
That's a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks, could not figure out how to get the arp to sound......

Awesome review! Also been following you for awhile on Insta. Love the music! I’m expecting mine to ship by end of month!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Congrats on the new MonoPoly. Have fun when it arrives!

Sold. Next purchase.
Extremely helpful video, I really do appreciate your presentation. Thank you, Erik!
Thank you, and thanks for watching 🙏

Yes, I believe I did. Good point about being able to appreciate the manual PWM with a sustained note. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@paul_burney Well there you go. So the amplitude of the pulse width modulation was set to max... in the library... with the candlestick. 🤪
Great review Erick I was undecided which one to buy the poly D or the monopoly in my opinion the monopoly is better he had very cool sound
Hi! Does this synth have patch memory?
It does not.
@@ErikHawk thanks
Good overview thanks. No offence but you may want to consider including metric measurements in future.
Good idea. I'll try to remember and include metric measurements next time. Thanks for the suggestion.

How's it working? Did it stop doing it? Maybe it just needed to warm up? Hopefully it's working now for you.

It's analog so the oscillators has to warm up...The same thing happened to me with the Arturia Minibrute. I almost sent it back...
@@E_Da_SoundGod Now it won't even switch on. Power adapter or the power jack is messed up. This sucks.
@@danjwalker oh wow
Can u get decent pads on this

It was this or B2600. This monopoly is rave synth to die fo. But no more selling trading.
I am loving this thing. Especially since the actual vintage synth is thousands more!
I wonder who disliked this and why.
Probably somebody who just hits the dislike button when they see anything Behringer LOL
Guys like Synthpunk who are triggered by anything Behringer.
@@John_Stone_ LOL totally.

@@EnochDark They've proven to be much better cloning these synths then the speakers, mixers, and audio interfaces.
