I first heard of Tony when he was touring with Steve Vai. He looked like he could hang with Vai no problem so I looked him up and was blown away. He is one of the sickest guitarists I've ever heard. He's a great piano player too.
One of THE best guitarist/musicians in the world. I wish he'd tour the States soon. I saw him live on the Edge of Insanity Tour--- at the rockin' Ritz in Roseville Michigan--- one of the best shows of my life! His live piano playing (Chopin) was over the top! Awesome!
A superb version,of an awesome track,by one of the most underated guitarists. Maximum Security is a master piece and Tony is simply in my book, one of the greats.Cheers for posting "Tears".
I was listening to Premonition today up loud. Then I put on The G 3 - SATCH, VAI, MALMSTEEN. and I respect all of them as well as Vinnie Moore, Paul Gilbert and way to many others to list. But Tony I like best. I have 7 of his albums. Malmsteen's hot as well.
the cameraman deserves life in prisson without parole!!, at the best part of the solo's sweep picking arpegios (2:55) the camera was focusing on tony's hair!! haha, anyways...my fav player/composer..long live tony mac
In my humble opinion this material is that lacks nowadays in the 90% of the progressive/fusion/ instrumental guitar songs of our days... an actual melody combined with skill! Not a useless series of techical exersices just to show what a good student someone become! Put some melody in guys! Jim Matheos stuff isn't so epic because of it's level of skill! Someone really sweat to come up with melodies like this! \m/
i don't think he ever used dimarzio officially (maybe at an early stage of his carreer), he always liked the tone of saymour duncan pickups, but since he signed with carvin guitars i don't know if he was able to still used those, all carvin guitars come with c22 or h22 (somethimes m22) humbuckers, i really dont know for sure but dimarzio i guarantee 100% that it's impossible, just not the glass, liquid tone that characterizes tony's sound
im very angry.....because i want to write somthing special for this song....BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT!!!!.....ANYWAY........THE SOUNDTRACK FOR MY BEST DREAM...:)
Tony is an unreal musician......
My fav instrumental song ever. Seriously. And no one plays it better than Tony. Hell yea.

Oh My God!!!! Welcome to Slovakia, Tony...October 2010 :-)

Indeed! I just wish there was a vid of Tony & George playing it together. :(
B.C Rich, Di Marzio, Peavey amps. and Ibanez effects. Según el cassete original, que yo lo tengo.
Waw
Excelent Video and Audio quality! Thx
Ahhh........heart touching.
finally a good quality version!
pure awesomeness!!!!!!
Mind blowing!
Great beautiful song! George's solo was very dramatic. I much prefer Tony but George's solo was unique and emotional.
Wow great sound, very nice vidéo!!
sublime......

A-W-E-S-O-M-E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, goddamn.
Heaven!!!!!
Viva Macalpine!
Damn, I've only ever seen tony play keyboard and rthym for vai but MAN, can he shred! I guess that's why vai asked him to join him
awesome
best version of the song becase audio and video
Yes man, for sure ... i 'd put Patrick Rondat also... it's just that most people get bored of solos etc they do not know what they re missing !
cool to hear him take Lynch's solos in this performance, too.
Him and all of the other shredders should write the music for an RPG game it would go so perfect together
totally agree!!
awsome
Ahh such a great song! Is it true that george Lynch played in this song aswell?
That sweep picking part is really hard. I am trying to learn this.

Tony Macalpine, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert next G3!
you sure about that? The headstock does say bc rich, and tony did play them in the past.
what pickups on those, inf1 and 2 or 3 and 4 or dimarzios?
i don't think he ever used dimarzio officially (maybe at an early stage of his carreer), he always liked the tone of saymour duncan pickups, but since he signed with carvin guitars i don't know if he was able to still used those, all carvin guitars come with c22 or h22 (somethimes m22) humbuckers, i really dont know for sure but dimarzio i guarantee 100% that it's impossible, just not the glass, liquid tone that characterizes tony's sound
i agree he and vinnie moore are so underated gutarists i can believe that crap....
@mmaacciikk
kde presne.. ako... kedy?? neviem o tom najst nic.. diky :)))
Anyone know what guitar he is playing?
who is playing drums on this song?
That is a B.C Rich Gunslinger..
probably PAF pro's on Tonezones..
lynch kicked his ass in this solo. totally
T Mac would kick Lynch's ass in his sleep. Lynch said so himself.
from 1;59
im very angry.....because i want to write somthing special for this song....BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT!!!!.....ANYWAY........THE SOUNDTRACK FOR MY BEST DREAM...:)
It should have been Steve Vai playing second back up guitar for Tony's band.
that would be cool but it wouldnt happen because gilbert was in the 2007 one.
Tony made this song with George Lynch
Hey Joe, why hasn't he brought Tony over to G3? Afraid he might get his ass kicked? Serioulsy, he should do G3.
Deen Castronovo
@shredftw je ne peux que plussoyer
some kind of B.C. Rich... not sure what model
this the thing i like it, it's ok but it hasn't got enough structure or melody for me its just some guy shredding
you are wrong thats a bc rich gunslinger
that woulda been pretty loose... :)
Amazing Guitarist...Awful Camera Person.
