If you found this video valuable, and want to dive deeper into the reflection-part - I just released a video specifically on that topic: th-cam.com/video/4kLqzQL_KW4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3kUTiVwhYwXTburV
Can you say ,what tool do you use to make this video?
Hi can you please give examples on videos like this to make it more practical?
What animation program do you use?
In computer science, we call this tutorial hell, where a person keeps consuming programming tutorials (Theory) without building any real-world app/program (Actions).
Was about to comment this. Been a victim myself and wasted one whole year during lockdown 😂
I can confirm that. I was stuck in tutorial hell for many months. I had a project I wanted to build and my initial route was to learn how to implement each functionality BEFORE starting the building phase. Well it was frustrating I couldn't understand the teachings in the tutorials, I almost wanted to give up until I decided to start building my project and see how that goes. Surprisingly as I am writing this only into 1 month and half I have built 50% of the functionalities. My strategy now is only go back to tutorial or theory when I need explanation specifically for what I am struggling with.
@@dreamsachiever212Good job bro, That's how it's supposed to be
@@ritiktyagi1926 thanks
@GabrielOliveira-ln8je for sure. But it is very easy to get stuck in theory trying to absorb everything before actually practicing.
The theory part is so true, but then watching this video itself is the theory part. People who never took actions won't get it
When it comes to history what’s the action phase?
Ah yahh
I'm actually applying to a machinist apprenticeship to get the action part in.
@@sanjairaj3532 maybe answer some questions related to the theory phase
i think thats why he made the video so short
I think the Reflection part is really important. Many people know the 'don't use learn Theory' part, but then they just take action repeatedly without reflecting on the outcomes of their actions.
But even if they do, they keep making the same mistakes again and again. How to stop this.
@@prrithwirajbarman8389 Try Reflecting about the reasons you commited these mistakes to begin. If the jokes you make constantly end up upsetting people, start thinking about *why* you did these jokes in the first place. If you're scared of talking to someone, think about why it scares you.
right
Hey, great work!
I was once trapped in the theory phase for many years. I thought if i just would read enough books and study enough online courses I eventually would reach all my goals.
I'm glad I got out of this rabbit hole by myself - would've needed this video a few years ago. But great video anyway :-)
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
I'm not one to comment on videos but I had to say that this a very well constructed, to the point- video. This is very important for anyone who is learning, to understand. So simple, yet so many books written about just this one topic. Good luck and keep making awesome content.
thats actually so great advice. Today we have many free sources of theory and so many people including me stuck in theory rather than act. Thanks for that.
This video reminds of the concept of: Start then Learn. Taking actions right away prevent you from procrastinating.
Here are the key points from the script:
**General Framework for Continuous Learning**
- The general framework for continuous learning consists of three steps: Theory, Action, and Reflection.
- This process involves reading up on the theory and general concepts of the skill you want to learn, taking action, reflecting on that action and the feedback received, and then repeating the process.
**The Importance of Action Over Theory**
- In the early stages of learning a new skill, it's recommended to focus less on theory and more on action.
- Many people get stuck in the theory phase and never start taking action.
- Theory is potential knowledge, but it's wasted if not acted upon.
- You can't predict how you, with your unique physical and psychological traits, will respond when trying to implement certain theories. This knowledge is only unlocked through action.
**Adjusting the Action to Theory Ratio**
- People have different preferences for their action to theory ratio.
- It's hard to know your preference in the beginning, and it's probably better to focus more on action and reflection.
- As you progress, you can start to adjust your action to theory ratio.
**Speeding Up the Process of Continuous Learning**
- The two main ways to speed up the process of continuous learning are through hanging out with like-minded people and through coaching.
- Like-minded people can make the action phase more fun, improve the reflection phase by offering different perspectives, and help filter out bad theories.
- A good coach, who has already walked the path you're trying to walk, can push you in the action phase, make you reflect on the right things, and provide you with the necessary theory.
**Conclusion**
- Start taking action, don't get stuck in theory.
- Speed up the process by getting a coach or hanging out with like-minded people, or both.
- Repeat the process and you will master the skill of your choice.
By ChatGPT4
nice, but honestly I think reading this would take me longer then 3 minutes.
@@Jakob127 It's not a summary unfortunately. Summary omits details and one would have to watch the video again if they find gaps in recalling the video. Instead this serves as a reminder. As long as one has watched the video then they can revise/recall by quickly scanning this in seconds. Actually that's what I do.
@@pdcx Ok that makes some sense
Valuable Content, Love both points and the best thing about the video is the Length. So much value in less time, just to the point.

Bro this is really me. I have to increase my action-taking and reduce theory stuff. Thanks for highlighting that, been theorizing for years.
Short, and concise. Really impactful, I will definitely use this framework in a lot of my activities. Thank you Sir.
Thank you so much, Ive been thinking alot about this topic for so long and you sum it up, explain and demonstrate the information in such a beautiful and comprehensive way! I love this style of yt videos, like IMBeggar. Wish you tons of subscribers and successes 🥰
Thank you, appreciate it!

Stumbling upon Kolb's Learning Cycle (Experience, Reflection, Theorization, Application) changed the way I learn and even teach. It's a great framework that moves around from abstract to concrete to abstract again.
I agree, I tried this too once and my life changed 100%
Really great video, it is short, well explained and has good editing. Thanks for the work !
Bravo, incredible delivery!
In my reflection of my learning journey, learning is living and living is learning. A love of learning is a true expression of humility and it produces a love of life that most seek! I, as many, learned by not just failing, but finding shortcuts to failing as if that was key to understand how to succeed lol. -Yet, as with many, would perpetuate ideas / theory and jump right to reflection again without ever taking action- reasoning myself right past action. If ideas could produce a perfected product without the early and ugly initial mock ups, we would still lose out on all the great lessons we would’ve learned and life we would’ve experienced along the way for future generations/iterations. Your mind can be further fashioned AND you can even sharpen the tool of learning itself! Reflection alone not only stunts growth but invites egoism making it much more difficult to live out theory through action. I’m about to watch all your videos, you nailed the instructional design of your content. Well done!
Great work!
Escaping tutorial hell is really hard but with this framework can get some help.
16million likes but only 3600 views and 17 comments. Yehhh TH-cam wtf. Great video. I read on comment of someone and it describes it pretty much. The simple white dashboard is refreshing and feels good to watch
Thanks for the great info!
Quick and easy to understand, thank you!
For me, the movement that the action creates is what keeps me going and so I'd always bet on action because without it I might not be still doing the thing
That's right, even a bad action is better than inaction

For me. All you have to do is that
1: Find a coach in a website or even irl if you want
2: Instal a automatic payement. So you don't have to think to pay him
Bonus: Buy books and pick some info. It's not bad if you don"t even read the entire book. It's just here to help you

A very good video 👏 Thank you for creating it. There is one thing I am wondering about. When you referred to a "coach" were you aware of the difference between a "coach" vs. a "mentor"? I feel like the word mentor would fit more in the context.
Amazing

very true!
Loved the video! Only thing I would change is the audio quality, but I really enjoyed the editing style! Keep it up, greetings from Argentina
Gracias! The new videos have a new mic and just bought a pop-filter actually:)
I feel like this is very situational. People learning a subject like math or physics probably should start with more action (solve problems) then go back and try to understand the "why". People who are trying to learn a physical skill need to be aware that learning proper technique as early as possible will prevent bad habits and a limiting skill set. Using a quality coach or video, start slow, getting feedback on your technique then practice your 10,000 hours.
I completely agree about 10,000 hours, I don’t remember who said that by doing one thing for 10,000 hours, you will become the best at it
Wow i didnt know i was lucky to get out of the theroy faze in a few month's
Very helpful, thank you.
I agree, and the animation is beautiful

and of course, more mistakes make me better and better, dont it?

"You can't predict how you, with your unique physical and psychological traits, will respond when trying to implement certain theories. This knowledge is only unlocked through action." OUCH
I had to say that this a very well constructed, to the point- video. Can you provide us the course of this type of editing video or maybe any kind of the sources that used too far. Not getting the exact way to be part of motion video editing. @outperformMP
Once I got to this insight and called this "theory over practice over theory". It used to be my profile name hahahaha
Learning by doing works best for those with ADHD. Instead of getting stuck in theory, focus on the practical side. It suits your learning style and keeps you out of the theoretical trap.
You could have given an example of some work to explain this better. For example, trying a maths question before learning how it's done. Ofcourse, you won't be able to solve it, but after trying, if you learn the approach, you would be like "ooooooh, so that's how its done" (relatable, right?). "Some lessons have to be experienced before they can be understood" - Michael Batnick
be a relentless experimenter. The most valuable information you'll have for yourself will only be found thru actions literally. That's data that can't be predicted
I have analysis paralysis. So the is goes ACTION - REFLECTION - THEORY - ACTION
Bro just wanna know how much time it took to edit this video. I'm a video editor. A little more the a beginner, your quality is top-notch sfx are also good, animation are also good. I'm like how can a person do this. I know how difficult it is. If you are free, can you just give me 5 minutes of your time and tell me. What do I have to do to edit like you. And your channel is new so there are no views but I'm damn sure you will cross millions as your ctr and watch time is good.
A little small request, Don't forget us when you reach new heights.
No view = low views depends upon your output !
My perspective is, we have to invest our time on it whether we spend in theory or practical the more we think about the subject(its reading or practical) the more knowledge we can gain which helps to grow more on our field. Finaly whever we learn in books we have to implement in practical.
Of course, without practice there is no point in learning conclusions.
