When I polished my frame I used a abrasive wire brush then moved to a more fine wire brush. After that I sanded it with 1000 grit sandpaper then moved to 2500. When you clear coat steel it's best to use a lot of layers of clear coat but to much can chip really easily. I also mixed some black spray paint into my clear so it made the clear coat more black
Jeremy Mccardle 4130 is polishable to a mirror finish because it’s a mixture of chromium and alloy. The reason why some frame rust is because it wasn’t cleaned properly prior to painting. I’m polishing a pair if s&m forks and their looking chrome, and I ain’t meaning shiny with scratches I mean chrome like having a frame chromed. I’ll be posting a video up of my technique and successful items, this guy is on the right track but there’s better ways to polish metal and after 4 years I hope he’s techniques improved.

they are bsd safari pedals, they look grippy but i really dont recomend them, they get loose really often and they make a wobble noise even after you tighten them on the cranks, and they are not grippy
rory o hallloran bsd pedals were not good for dry or wet, infact no plastic pedals are good at all in wet conditions, when I used to ride in the snow I used mission METAL pedals and they provided waayyy too much grip even with snow on em. so my final recommendation is any metal pedals for wet and slippery just make sure you are wearing shin pads lol
All you need is caustic soda and water to remove anodise, then use a mag wheel spray to clean the metal before sanding, sand metal with 600 grit to remove any imperfections in the metal, then use 1200 grit to get the metal to flatten out, you will achieve a mirror finish if you keep sanding, you won’t need polish to achieve a mirror finish. Use metal polish if you feel the need, and always sand with wd-40, those cranks needed about another 6 hours of sanding to remove all the scratches. Alloy polishing is for beginners.

quick tip. Use lemon juice and it will take off the residue to give it a nice finish. Good job though with what your working with!

he's talking about aluminum and chrome. u don't wanna do that to some nice crome crank arms so ur post is irrelevant
