Dyna for a couple years. I rode a softail street bob and it pulled. I know it's technically only 4ci difference but it was noticeable. Maybe wait till the bob gets thr 114 and get a torque cam installed :o
I a new 2019 sport glide and I love it but the dyna just holds a special place in my heart and to me will always be the best looking bike ever and it’s all about the dual shock look there’s just something about the mechanics of the bike being visable that draws the eye
I had an FXDLS before getting my FXFBS. Im definitely a fan of the new softail platform. I had the upgraded motor mounts and ohlins 1400 dollar shocks and all kinds of upgrades done to it and I loved it for sure, but my Fat bob stock felt just as confident in corners and on the roads. Ive since converted to a mid glide, roadster rims, galfer 13 in rotors, raised the rear, S&S 475G cam and full cam chest and put on an FXRT fairing, and its just no comparison anymore, im in love with the fat bob. It rips and handles so good and confidently it blows me away. Also installed a 2FNGR clutch perch, alot like the Elite mototech and im just in love with this bike! these things take really well to mods
I traded my 114 Breakout for my FXDLS and won't be trading it for another M8. The new Softail chassis is a massive improvement over the Dyna and it really shows when you get over 90mph, but the Dyna is more exciting to ride. No M8 i've tried matches the TC110 for raw aggression. The M8 runs out of steam after 3500rpm where as the TC110 pulls hard all the way to the redline. Harley have done a fantastic job with the new Softails but they lack the grin factor of the FXDLS.
Fxdls is more fun. More low-end grunt. More vibration. Better stopping power. Sexier. More available upgrades... ...but the fxlr is a better ride. Smoother. More comfortable. Runs cooler. Better handling. Stiffer suspension. A stage III fxlr will thrash a 110 above 1k... ...but I'd keep the dyna until Harley releases an S version of their current softail, if they ever do, because as it stands the fxdls is a better package.
Right on! I heard rumors floating around and had a buddy send me a "leaked" photo last night. Looks pretty rad! Will be cool to see what people do with them.
We’ll always respect the dyna but the reason everyone wanted to know what shocks you ride is cause the dyna was rough on the road. That softal ride like a dream off the factory floor
Thanks for the AWESOME review, Jon. I was caught in between till I watched the review... Was hating to give up the looks of the Dyna, but if there is gained performance then I'm willing to follow the route of natural progression and try me a Softail
Like connorfxdb so aptly said, the best thing you can do is give it a shot and see for yourself. Like many, I dig the dyna, but there's no doubt they've got something going with the softails. 🤘😎
Why would Harley put a single on a bike that weighs over 700 lbs. (I guessing the weight). I owned Harley's years ago and now the only feature I like is the sound....
you guys must weigh more than me or something. I do figure 8s on my 18 softail streetbob in parking lots every few weeks, I ride like diarrhea through satans asshole and have never really scraped much. I like how much less the M8 motor vibrates than the evo
the softail is a superior frame/chasis design. not only is it more ridgid, it's also lighter and have better suspension travel geometry for the rear. Dynas have their special place with their looks but for everyhing else the softail wins hands down.
I have no interest at all in the new Softail and could care less about the way it supposedly is smoother just because I'm a fan of the Dyna and always will be. It's hard to believe that there Softail was that much smoother and better considering your bike has Ohlins shocks on it. 🤷🤷🤷 I noticed at the end your bike didn't have a battery cover on it. Is there a reason that you removed the battery cover???
The last clip I was mid-installation of the defenderbags, which is why the battery cover was off. I still dig the dyna, but the new m8's are a different breed.
Empeze un canal en espanol pero no he sido muy bueno en subir videos. Me cuesta un poco ya q soy gringo! Jajaja! Ademas, ando muy ocupado con mi canal principal, pero hare lo que puedo. Gracias por el apoyo!
Lame, the bikes are so different that there is no contest. The dyna performance is muck greater. The breaking power is so superior to the soft tail, its lean angle is also better and the suspension travel is the best in Harley’s line up. The soft tail is a better cruiser and has more comfort for the daily cruse. That wide glide front end twists if you use the front break in an aggressive manor you will notice that the right side of the tire will have excessive ware. The feet forward is great if you have knee issues and it is more like setting in your favorite chair. The soft tail depending on how they get lowered will have a harsher ride. If left as a stock bike the ride is very live able. Yet with all this said the dyna has a fatal flaw! The swing arm is rubber mounted to the transmission and when the rubber wears out the bikes develop a speed wobble that can and will lead to a crash. There are many kits to correct this and if you are considering the Dyna make it a priority to upgrade the motor and transmission mounts. I can’t express this loud enough. The Dyna is the better bike in many ways and if your someone the rides at the limit replace the mounts and spend the money having the suspension tuned to your weight and riding style. Harley’s are not meant to stunt but with the right upgrades they are hard to beat. I wish you a luck. Cruse or stunt that’s how I see it.
Braking power is superior to the Softail? I would strongly disagree considering my bike has dual disk brakes up front and the Softail is single. This comparison was between a Lowrider S and a Softail. Not a Steet Bob vs Softail. You couldn't give me 3 Softails for my Lowrider S. And you say the Dyna has a fatal flaw? Again I would disagree. Harley Davidson engineering team is where the fatal flaw is. Why didn't Harley Davidson go ahead and correct the flaw years ago and put a stabilizer on the Dyna in the front and back from the factory? Because they're about putting out the cheapest version of the bike in hopes to make you spend even more money from Harley but to my knowledge Harley doesn't make a stabilizer so this is entirely on their engineering department. That's where the flaw is. The Dyna is by far, in my opinion, hands down the better bike in the right hands of someone that knows how to build it right.
pre·am·ble. LoL know your audience, just messing around... If you had two twins that have mad skills on a 17 FXLRS stock and 23 FXLRS stock the outcome is obvious. This reminds me of carburetors vs fuel injection. Cool video!
Dyna or Softail? Which one would you mob?
Dyna
I've been a Dyna guy for a long time but dude I rode a 2019 Street Bob a couple weeks ago and fell in love with everything but that dogshit seat.
Dyna until they get those M8s worked out and there a good used market

Dude! I need to see some pics of your bike! Sounds like a total monster!
Do you think $14k for a 16 Dyna S with 8,000 miles a good deal ?
What about that 2020 lowrider s?
The ideal HD would be the new Fat Bob with the wheels and mid-mount pegs off your Dyna.
Heck yeah! Thay would be one rad ride!

TC110? Which Dynas came with this motor
@@dylancoric1194 the bike in the video lol (FXDLS)

hell yes! I love videos about wind where the wind talks about wind and gives tips on wind.
But they popped wheelies on Harleys...Sure THAT was cool, right?

Guess what? Harley just released the 2020 Low Rider S today.
@@roadrash76 Haha I'm actually pretty surprised they did. I didn't think they listened to their base

hey man what wheels are those? i’ve been trying to find wheels like that that’ll fit my FXDLS.
Sorry for slow reply. They're stick fxdls wheels, but powder coated black.

Been on dynas for ever but I have to say my test rides on the 2019 soft tailes has me tempted.
Yeah, it's a whole new experience!

My 2019 Street Bob softail but still Dyna at heart as well
Great video!
Thanks, man!
I now own a 2019 Street bob. the lean angle is no bueno at stock height, the kick stand grinds etc. Had to lift rear shock immediately.
My dyna street bob is about the same, even with taller shocks in the rear.

traded my fxdxi for a fat bob 114, no regrets at all.
