One thing to note with Sandstorm Scrapper is that it only applies the counter and trample to creature TOKENS you control. Any non-token creature will not get the trample or the counter.
Heat shimmer can target any creature. Molten Duplication can only target creatures or artifacts you control, so it is not "strickly" better even if it will be better most of the time.
I think a lot of people underestinate jitte. Sure its not as versetile as the old one but the ability to stack "untap land" is not to be underestimated.
Yeah and how cheap it is to cast and equip is super nice. 2 mana to equip like on shadow spear and old Jitte may not seems like a lot but it matters soooooo much
Sure, "untapping a land" is great. Or, you know, you could just get a shadowspear and kill your opponent or get a Hammer and kill your opponent or get a Pithing Needle and shut down an opponent's Planeswalker or you could get a Haywire Mite to blow up an opponent's Binding or Leyline and gain 2 life. But, yes. You can also instead get this Jitte, _not_ kill your opponent despite your attack going through bc you tutored the jitte (lol) and untap a land. Amazing.
@@bexclue3007 it depends on your situation, hence the toolbox. The untapping of a land could allow you to hold up more mana for an opponents play and still allow you to keep pressure, say against yawg or cascade. Yes you could have pithing needle for yawg but that is in the side, Jitte is versatile enough to be put in the main for my opinion. If you played saga on 3, then on 5 it goes away, with Jitte, this allows you to make a token, grab Jitte, attach it to a creature (leaving 1 mana left over) swing, put a counter on it, and now you have two mana up with Jitte for a kill spell, reprieve, boseiju, and the like. Yes springleaf drum could do the same with the token, but that puts you down a blocker or if they kill it on their turn it goes away. Also making creatures not be able to block is huge, while shadow spear does give trample, if their creature is too big or will kill your creature then it won’t matter.
Against yawg and cascade I have big news what you’re tutoring, and it’s going to be hate cards, it’s not like jitte is good in enough matchups to want a main deck slot
Also relevant about Molten Duplication: 1) Heat Shimmer exiles the permanent at the end of your turn, whereas Duplication sacrifices it. That means you can get Death triggers from it. 2) Heat Shimmer applies the exiling clause to the permanent itself, meaning if you make another copy of that heat shimmer token copy, that token would exile itself as well. Duplication doesn't have that problem, so with Worldwalker Helm you can copy it and you get to keep the copy long-term.
Also, as i think this is the most likely I am to have Seth read a Comment of mine. It is "Brotherhood's end" not "Brothers hood end" (I do love you though Seth.😂)
@MoveToCombatlmao he’s not tryna be some kind if master manipulator, he just sucks at pronouncing things. He’s talked about it before, he thinks it’s funny that people think that
Molten Duplication is much closer to Twinflame than Heat Shimmer. Heat Shimmer can copy any creature while Molten Duplication and Twinflame are restricted to your own permanents. I'd say Molten Duplication a small upgrade since I have never payed the strive cost of Twinflame but might want to copy an artifact (probably won't though, since I'd be wasting a combo piece).
Lost jitte probably has some applications in a standard poison-proliferating deck. Sneak in a hit with a toxic creature and then you have another proliferate target.
It should be noted, bargaining Ganble of Greed right away does not strictly gain you nothing. You looted 3 times and might have been able to turn some 1/1s into 2/1 flyers.
Gamble of Greed actually seems really good in just a generic "Sac'ing stuff" style deck. If you can kill it on the same turn you play it, which you definitely always wanna try to do (such as with Bargain cards as you mentioned), you can treat it more as "3B(+the cost of your Bargain spell): Draw Three cards then discard three cards, create three 2/1 fliers then sacrifice three creatures". So you get some hand-selection, possibly upgrade a random 1/1 into a 2/1 flyer, as well as three immediate triggers on any "creature enters and/or dies" triggers.
hostile investigator only works with that new gorgon from last set that makes poison counters. I think that is why they made Hostile Investigator mythic rare.
gamble of greed seems great for yorion doom foretold! although you would need exactly candy grapple to actually make it work since you want to sac it in response to itself
Hostile Negotiator seems more like it would've been a rare. It has 1 more power and toughness than Tireless tracker and is automatically a 2 for 1 by making them discard a card and you get a clue.
Love you seth!!! Also talking about green four drops, I actually think that 6/5 wurm with trample and flash if you control a desert is going to be the best. I think these two together might hopefully bring back green as a viable color in standard
Bristlebud Farmer is very anti-Sheoldred. Its big enough to kill her, and either gains you life or gets you cards without drawing, which counteract her a bit.
For Gamble of Greed, a possible way to get around its trigger would be to turn it face down. Unfortunately, despite face down just being a mechanic, there is no way to turn a permanent face down in standard. In fact, there doesn't currently seem to be any card that can turn a noncreature permanent face down. A pity, because "turn target nonland permanent face down" seems like a reasonable variant on white's usual "kill something and give you something in return" cards.
I know duplication us strictly better than Heat Shimmer as a combo piece, but I don't think it should replace Heat Shimmer inna commander deck, because Shimmer has the flexibility of targeting permanents controlled by other plays. Cool that there's another effect like that though!
You missed the perfect home for Molten Duplication. Obeka, Brute Chronologist. Heat Shimmer already resides there as a staple. So this will slot right into the deck with it.
Rules question about Hostile Investigator, if it gets blinked (by maybe Fortune, Loyal Steed), does the "once per turn" reset because it left and has returned? Discarding two cards and making two clue tokens seems pretty strong
If a permanent leaves the battlefield then returns, it is considered a wholly-new game object with no "memory" of its previous state(s), even when represented by the same card. The "Once per turn" is reset each time it leaves/returns.
Bugler Rat then proceeds to make a Bugle sound 😂😂 I can't... SETH !! 😂 YOU'RE THE BEST MAN !! But it's Burglar Rat buddy which is what these outlaws and thrives are doing. Hey Seth! Thank you for all the spoiler videos! I noticed you and Crim skipped your usual “Top 10 in [Format]” videos in the last couple spoiler cycles. Is that the new norm?
I’m Thinking about trying gamble of greed in yarok. 4 mana to draw 6 and make 12 flying power over 6 bodies. The end step trigger could be upside for reanimate shenanigans.
This is probably too deep in the weeds, but with Gamble of Greed, if you were to cast it, get the value, then give it to your opponent... and then BLINK it, my read would be the opponent loses life/cards/creatures, but since you own it when it returns from exile it would return to YOU, and you'd gain those things? Potentially give it back to the opponent again? My instinct is that if it works that way, it's a cute interaction, but needs too many specific cards and colours to be more than an Against the Odds deck.
The other way you could get around the downside of Gambler of Greed is to play Tishana's Tidebinder on the end step to counter the trigger, then the rest of the triggers won't happen either. It's a bit fragile with Tidebinder being killable, but it is another way.
I want to see some standard storm nonsense where you use Jitte to untap lands to play cheap instants and sorceries which can trigger Ichormoon Gauntlet to add more counters to Jitte and repeat. It's just a matter of getting the first counter on the Jitte in the first place.
about gamble of greed I guess it's okay ish in obeka, brute chronologist as you can just end the turn whenever the triggers hits the stack to avoid the downside? and not much else

Good points. Though it does only target your own permanent. So great card, but not strictly better
this week in spoilers, Seth misses very important words on most of the cards that changes the evaluation a lot.

@@jeffe2267 Sandstorm Scrapper. Seth said it's ability affects all of your creatures but it only applies to Token creatures. Huge difference.
