  • I'm the kind of person that does a ton of research before buying. I looked at every make/model of dealer level scan tool out there. (Autel, Launch, etc.) in a $300-$1000 range. Decided on the Xtool D8S because it had topology, meaning it will likely do some of the features the D9 & advanced models do as updates roll out down the road & the price beat all the competition by a long shot. And all the reviews I read about Xtool's support being spot on sealed the deal for me as well as Xtool doing many functions other scan tools won’t. Happy to say that I was not disappointed.
I was working on a 2008 Infiniti G35 that had the infamous sunroof leak resulting in the Body Control module getting wet and ruined. So bought a used BCM off of Ebay for $200. Paid $600 for the Xtool D8S. All in $850. Pretty sure a garage or dealer would have been $1500-$2000 to do the same exact job. Just me replacing the BCM myself they wanted $500+ to program 2 keys to the new BCM. So the Xtool paid for itself on the first job and I now have it to work on any vehicle. This is a dealer level computer for $600 & worth every freaking penny!!!

There is a separate function in the menu where the xtool reads the PIN code and displays it on screen. Just write it down or take a pic for when it asks for it later on in the process!
