    Stadia is still working for me right now. Reportedly it shuts down at 11:59 PT on Jan 18th. Because I am Indiana East it should be up for me until ~2:59AM. I'm playing Pixel Junk Raiders before it possibly is lost to history. Never really tried it until earlier today and I do like it and wish I got to play it more. Thank you for all the Stadia content during it's life cycle, you were arguably the best of all of them and I do love the Stadia community. I'll follow you wherever you end up in the future. And congrats on beating cancer btw. I didn't know about it but I can also relate to that a lot. I fought Hodgkin's Lymphoma twice myself, 2009 & 2014 it relapsed. I've been in remission ever since and taking better care of myself really helped to get me to a better point that I am at today. The most important thing obviously is to take care of your health (including mental health) 1st and foremost. So I am happy you are prioritizing that over pumping out content left and right like some other channels do. I've seen many of them experience burnout and depression/anxiety after doing that long term. Quality over quantity. I feel pretty heavy hearted about Stadia and made sure I also played some Cake Bash with my daughter for the last time on Stadia and had fun. I think with better communication and willingness to invest in it for maybe a year or two longer could have made a big difference but sadly it is out of our control. It is a tough pill to swallow for sure. 😔

    Thank You Stadia for making cloud gaming a thing for me. It is now my preferred type of gaming because of you. Now I have your great controller to remember you by going forward.

    Updating my last controller to enable BT feels like one scoop of dirt closer to Stadia's final moments. Even though I jumped ship to GeForce Now Ultimate (and am patiently waiting on Xcloud improvements), I plan to be there tomorrow playing a game I love until the service cuts out on me forever. Performance took a hit during the wind down and returning to something I'd have to keep backing up save files from to put on my PC felt pointless... But most of all, it hurt too much.
    I get that this may be overdramatic to some, but Stadia changed the way I play and appreciate games. I was right there with the majority of the gaming world in laughing at and mocking Stadia. Much in the same way people mocked the PSP-Go for being one of the first "download only" systems. I said Stadia was awful without having ever really tried it. One day however, I decided to try it on my Android phone. I expected it to suck, laughing to myself as I signed up for the Stadia Pro trial, fully expecting myself to cancel it. I decided to boot up Hitman and the game loaded up in mere seconds... on my smart phone of all things. The game looked sharp and I didn't have a single hiccup in performance, and sounded great. The touch controls felt great, and even better once I saw I could sync up my Xbox controller. No downloads, no updates, just me tapping on a play button and being able to jump right in. I'd never seen anything like it.
    From there I was hooked. I began to build up my library, purchased a grand total of 3 Stadia controllers (2 of them from a thrift store for a mere $20 a piece), complete with the snazzy Claw attachment I use for all my mobile phone gaming now. I already had a CCU, but wound up getting a CCUwGTV for another room, and even got some long ethernet cables.
    I didn't play much with others, but played countless hours on my single player adventures. Stadia was the first platform to prove just how good cloud gaming could be. Only service I've seen shine the brightest where I live after Stadia was the highest tier of GFN, but even then the service lacks some of the best games Stadia had. Nothing quite beats the simplicity either. I can't imagine how bad the community made Stadia devs feel for things that Google held them back from. Devs who already knew that their baby wasn't as popular as it should have been, and knew they were years ahead of their time.
    I'm going to miss Stadia and all the joys it brought me. The count-down to it's sign-off is on.

    Stadia got me back to gaming. Bought me an Xbox Series S with the refund money. Enjoying it alot even more than I ever did in stadia. Don’t feel left out with Xbox games wise. Always worried with stadia if tripple A games coming. I Do feel bitter with google but will miss stadia.

    • @GreenLeefMusic

      I got a Series S as well, it is a great console and a big step up from the One S I had previously. I pretty much quit the One S right when I got my free Stadia Founders w/ Cyberpunk 2077. Plus that Holiday Bundle was too sweet of a deal to pass up at $240. I miss the hell out of Stadia (I even had a dream about it just last night lol) but at least we can have Game Pass, console streaming with the full library, & ability to use GeForce Now & Luna on the Series S Edge Browser. So it is prob the best alternative to Stadia that is available for the time being.

    Also, Sunny, if you're at a loss of what to use Google Play credits on, don't discount mobiles games for a minute. There's tons of legit games on mobile that play and look amazing. Every Phoenix Wright game (minus region exclusives, the Layton crossover, and newest game) is on Google Play. The original Professor Layton trilogy in HD is there too. Final Fantasy 1-9 (including the Remaster of 8, the remakes of 3 & 4, and Tactics: War of the Lions). Dragon Quest 1-8 (minus 7, and a fan remastered the Android port of 8). The World Ends With You. Chrono Trigger. Both full Xcom titles. Alien Isolation. The School - White Day. Minecraft Portable is actually really good too, as is mobile Terraria, Stardew Valley, and more. Pretty much all the Five Nights At Freddy's games are there too if those are your style. DOOM 1 & 2. Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic, and far far more.
    On top of that, you could use those credits for audiobooks from Google Play Books (or sub to Audible for a while to get said books for less), or digital movies from Google TV.
    I wouldn't view those credits as a waste at all. I've collectively spend well over 1K on Play Store purchases alone.

    • @consigno10
      @consigno10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeffcarrier9808 I felt that way originally but I lay the blame on Stadia's death to those above Phil. I think Phil tried his best to save Stadia but when Google decided it was going to stop spending money on bringing games to Stadia, that was the end. The closure of SG&E was the alarm and while most saw it for what it was - Google giving up, the fact they didn't close then made us believe (wrongly) that it could live on in stasis for a day when the demand finally came. But it truly was Google just giving Stadia two more years to ink Google Stream deals and Phil and Stadia team couldn't do it. What publisher would invest in Google Stream after seeing Google decide to stop investing in it's consumer version of GS?...
