Phenomenal, sir! I probably watched about 20 of these tutorials before I found yours-the one that achieves the perfect cartoony effect I have been seeking! Unlike many of the others, yours allows for alterations from the route you demonstrated in the tutorial to achieve equally amazing results given that there are likely to be differences in how filters affect one image to another. Thanks! (edited for clarification)
Many thanks for the kind words Mac D, so pleased to hear that this has helped with the effect you were looking for. I like to keep all of my images fully adjustable as you may decide to tweak it slightly later. Cheers David
That's great Ric, so pleased to hear that you used Affinity for the first time using the tutorial. Pleased you like the way I deliver the instruction as well. Cheers David
Hi davrodigital. At 4:00 min mark. Great so far (thumbs up). How did you select snap to edge with flood tool. This is my first time with Affinity Photo.
Do you mean the selection tool @zerandervax1046? If so on the Menu bar next to the brush size, make sure you tick Snap to Edge. Hope this helps, cheers David
Thanks Kenn Ung, pleased to enjoyed the explanation. If you want to reduce detail in the hair, add a layer mask to the Sketch Group. Select a soft edge brush and set the foreground colour to Black and reduce the brush opacity to around 30% (you may need to experiment with this figure) now paint over the hair or any other area you may want to reduce the sketch effect. The more you go over it the more you'll reduce the sketch effect. Hope this helps, Cheers David
Hi Natalia Polina, I have no idea why that should happen Ctrl/Cmd i or try Layer > Invert and you will see the shortcut on the dropdown menu. Hope this helps, David
Great tutorial but gosh, here's me thinking Affinity was easier than Photoshop!! It's been a long time since I used Photoshop but I don't remember it being this complex.
BonesPanny it's just as involved in Photoshop. I did a comic effect recently using Elements and that was even more complex. Not so many filters in Affinity but what it does have works a treat :)
The ASMR of your voice is great. Great tutorial. Glad I found you today. I subbed to you immediately.
That could be a new channel for me Wesley Billy? lol Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the video and thanks for subscribing. Cheers David
