Photographing MOUNTAIN HARES in the ARCTIC ⎸ Varanger Expedition ep 3

- In this wildlife photography series, I take you along - behind the scenes - on a week-long photography expedition in pursuit of the hardy creatures that endure the cold temperatures and inhospitable conditions that the Arctic throws at them. In this episode, I test out two widely different techniques of photographing the secretive white mountain hares. Under the cover of darkness, I spend a night in a photography hide, and as daylight reappears, I head out on foot to search for them on the tundra.
A huge thanks to my good friend SKJALG-HELMER VIAN for making this adventure happen:

Haha, that's great to hear! Thank you!
It's wonderful
Thanks a lot!
Another fantastic video. Beautiful images and video capture. Contrasting the nocturnal and daylight shots was a nice touch. Well done!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
Real adventure and wonderful lightning in the dark photography experience 👏
Thank you! I also have to thank Skjalg for the awesome set-up!
Awesome Tobias! 🙏
Thank you!
I never thought I'd be so captivated by hares! Beautiful shots!
Thanks so much! 🙏
hi Tobias
another nice video with nice pictures. I liked the pictures taken in daylight the best.
Sincerely
from The Netherlands
Thank you very much!
Fantastic - absolutely love these little guys :) Really liked the nightime shots as it's not a style of photographing them I've seen before!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
This is another nice video. The pictures of the snowy landscape by night are amazing and the portraits you made of the hares are really beautiful. It seems they are playing in the snow just for your pleasure... and finally ours ! Thanks.
Thank you so much! It was so much fun observing their natural behaviour!
Great!😊
Thanks a lot!
Well done fellas.👍👍
Thank you very much!
Great pictures again! When have you been there exactly?
Thank you very much! This was at the start of April
Hi, I am planning to do a guided trip to Varanger this March! If this sounds interesting to you, send me an email to togj1000@gmail.com (completely non-binding), and I will provide you some more info on what such a trip would consist of.
Great video Tobias!👏
Thank you very much!
Deven for en kvalitet! Du e oppriktig god!
Tusen takk gode mann! Setter pris på dine hyggelige ord!
Noooo what has nikon ever done to you
Hahahah I had to keep that in there 😅
Nice video, it's a shame your channel has now lowered itself to childish brand bashing. Serious enthusiasts and professionals I've spoken seem to have quite a respect for Nikon.
Thanks David! That was simply a joke, to make the entire video a little less serious. I know lots of really talented photographers who use Nikon, and several of them thought that part of the video was funny. I can assure you that neither Skjalg or I have anything against Nikon - to be completely honest, their flagship equipment seems to be among the very best on the market at the moment. So let me assure you, my channel is more than brand-bashing :) It was a light-hearted joke with no bad intentions
