The little cabin was also used in a Norwegian film where 3 children were stranded. The film is called operasjon arktis.
I love when you share those kind of moments. We can actually see how much work you’ve put to those images , its outstanding .
It goes without saying what an amazing job you do. Your images are stunning and love this series.
Those last 3 images are mesmerizing. Beautiful content, Benjamin.
I enjoyed this video a lot. I find it fascinating to hear what gear people are using, but more importantly the thought process and what inspires you when out there. I feel like you did a great job of this in this video.
I love your explanation of your artistic intent and it's execution. Other then your incredible imagery this is what keeps me coming back here. 🙏
great video with amazing photos / story telling. thanks Ben !
Thanks for this video Benjamin! It's timely for me as I'm heading to Svalbard tomorrow for an expedition. Bringing the 100-500 and 24-70 on separate bodies. Agree on the eye level shots!

Beautiful. I bought my 500 F4 2nd hand from someone who only used it once, when he bought it for an Antarctica trip and then never used it again. I would SO love to take it back there!!

Beautiful scenery and new subscriber.
Did they tell you about those cabin's?
The community pay an annual fee to have access to them through out the region.
During COVID the program was shut down. Makes sense someone just lived in that one.
Thanks for sharing 🌻
great video
you become one of my favorite youtubers man..keep up !!
Hello, great content! Thanks for sharing this wonderful trip. could you tell me what drone did you use please?
really nice video thanks !
Amazing footage and images! What sunglass brand are those at 3:15? They're tight onto your face, which I assume is great for wind.
Thank you! They are the Oakley Clifden
I clicked and came here just to say: Wow what a great tumbernail! Well done!
What camera and mic do you use to film these vlogs? I am looking to upgrade my setup - would love some tips!
Amazing content as always! A couple of questions: It seems you use the R5C, besides as a video camera, but also as another body for photography. How does it perform for wildlife photography knowing it has no IBIS and a less sophisticated autofocus system....? Are you still using your RED Dragon for expedictions like this one, or now you use mainly the Ronim...? thanks in advance ! cheers!
Thank you!
The R5C has performed really well. It is my main video camera for documenting these trips as well as my second body for stills (would be my main but I have the long lens permanently on the R5 and try to limit lens changes).
In terms of AF and IBIS, I of course would love to have the stabilisation but it hasn’t been an issue so far especially in the bright Arctic conditions which allow for a higher shutter speed. I haven’t noticed a difference in the AF system compared to the R5, it is working great for tracking the wildlife. The biggest issue I’ve had is changing between the photo and video UI. It often glitches and I need to take the battery out, might just need a firmware update.
And honestly the RED has been on the shelf for nature shoots since I got the Ronin 4D, it’s a game changer to not need the Ronin 2 and Easyrig!
Pretty much all positives this far 😌
@@BenjaminHardman First of, thank you for taking the time to getting back to me, very kind of you! Amazing how you are able to go down to the bare minimum gear wise and still you are able to get this stunning images & work! Glad to hear both the R5 & R5C are giving you the best of both worlds! Regarding the Ronin taking place of your RED, that is perhaps the most surprising thing... specially because I think the Dragon together with the Gemini are the best two sensor RED ever made: color and image quality... but seeing the image quality and versatility ergonomic wise of the Ronin... I totally understand! Superb! I'd Love to see your post/color processing for this footage: davinci? Thanks again & looking forward to seeing another of your masterpieces mate! cheers! ;)
What camera bag do you use for all of that. Thanks
I don’t know if you will see this Benjamin but I’m wondering if I can email you real quick? if I can please ask you a question about your gear…. 😊You might be the best editor/photographer I’ve ever come across. Impeccable work.
The seas are dancing
Awesome content. Thanks! I'm going this August and my tour/boat operator (Oceanwide) says drones are strictly prohibited, even if you get a license. How were you able to fly your drone? Cheers, Phil
Hey Phil,
I work as a crew member / guide on the ship which gives me the ability to operate the drone. It’s a bit tricky and I do understand the frustrations!
@@BenjaminHardman Cool. I've been in touch with Arctic WIldlife tours (12pax) and they allow drones at times! I think it's just the larger ships that prohibit completely. Makes sense as you wouldn't want 100 people flying drones!
hello, where to buy the white headcap?
How much work was it to obtain permits for the drone work?
I would love to visit Svalbard and photograph the wildlife there. However unfortunately i dont have a giant zoom lens. I have a Lumix DC-FZ82. Will I be able to use this camera? Will the wildlife be close enough? Or will you be viewing them from too far?
Hi, I have a sigma 60-600, and the sharpness is not as good as I expect when I zoom in my picture (Same when I try manual focus), it looks flat, lack of detail and grain in pic. Wonder if it is the lens problem or just typical tele-zoom lens issue.
what binoculars you have there dude ?
6:33 love that
What about the vlogging set up?
Hi. Is this the tour that Thomas Heaton and Brendan van Son also participated in? How much does such a trip cost?
Fortunate boy to do what you do…have to ask do you do this for a living or you have a good job to afford all this huge gear? Perhaps family gift…
I love how he edits lofi music over enduring some of the harshest envrionments on planet Earth
Sigma 500 F4 and R5 work well with 2x teleconverter ?
It works really well when stopped down a couple of stops 👌🏼
Do 66 north just give you all these clothes to wear or do you buy them? They are expensive af
Benjamin which month did you go.
This was last month in May 🙏🏼
@@BenjaminHardman thank you,I I visited in June.
How do you even carry that much gear? and the weight.... uff, a young man's game ;)
Take me with you. I'm a good cook.
Criminally underrated
sailing trip ? sailing ?
You looking for Santa?
Man you are super rich to afford all those gear.
