I knew it intuitionally that breathing too much air is bad but slow breathing is good. Many teachers say to take a deep breath then thay breath fully to belly and lungs but it just causes confusion to brain and anxiey(of course breath holds are beneficial practice). You teaching is right to the point. thanks
Wonderful. I learned diaphragmatic breathing many years ago when I was in a bad way with anxiety and this is really expert guidance Jacko. I’m going to share this one with our men’s group. Perfect duration. And your voice is very gentle. Nice one brother 🙏🏻
Awesome video, seen and read a lot of instructions on this and always found it a bit tricky to do, often found myself overdoing it and then getting frustrated. This video however explains it in the best way 🙏🏻
Yo Tina!!! Glad it helps... I know what you mean... I totally found this to be the hardest when I first started - makes me happy to think its helping you understand it better. Any other questions just ask. Did you download my FREE eBook yet?
David. Just found this audio. Are you a practitioner ? Your instructions on light breathing are amazing and what I would refer to as a Breathing Meditation, Of Buteyko. Do you have a website ? etc. Many thanks in advance of a reply.. Yvonne 💌
Thanks Jacko for spreading this method! I had a question Jacko, in daily life, i had a tendency to holding my breath and kind of "locking" the breath until my awareness aware of this, and i let it flow again, and through this habit, i found myself often in an anxiety and fight fisht state.. any advice how to change the habit of breathing Jacko? Thanks!
Thanks for video, very helpful. Would you practice light breathing while exercising too. I try to do breath holds along with light breathing. Am I doing too much? Thanks in advance
Hey, thanks for the feedback and glad you liked the video. Yes the breathing light can certainly be done during light exercise as well as to help down-regulate after exercise. It can generate air hunger strongly so start easy with just walking before progressing to things like jogging or other bodyweight movements. The breath-holds can be done as well but just at a different time... not mixing them together. Hope that helps? Have you checked out my Pro Breathwork App which has a free foundations course which helps explain fully and guide you through the exercises? probreathwork.passion.io/
GREAT QUESTION - It can vary from person to person for what feel comfortable. There is some good science suggesting 5 in and 5 out or 4 in 6 out are good cadences for HRV... but the time doesn't take into account the size of breath so do be aware of that. Hope it helps... any other questions just ask. Jacko
@@Jacko-Breathwork thanks a lot but according Patrick McKeown while doing slow and light breathing, for that your breath must be very slow and light and small.. If small breaths are required then why must we inhale and exhale for 5 5 or 6 6 secs?
hey, yes I was trained by Patrick himself and i continue to work with him as a master instructor so I'm not trying to say anything different than he would. You asked about how long inhales and exhales should be and 5/5 or 4/6 have both been shown in the research to be a beneficial speed. The speed however doesn't take into account the size of breath / volume of air we are breathing. So with breathing light to reference to smaller breaths is to the volume of air we are taking. As we relax and slow are breathing it reduces naturally and then the art of breathing light is with that slower breath being able to gradually decrease the size of the breath too. Hope that makes sense? I think you'd love my short course 'Mastering Breathing Light' here - www.probreathwork.com/course/mastering-breathing-light
Buteyko changed my life more than any other lifestyle modification.

Wow, very useful 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
How long can you do that like 5.in 5 out? As a practice? 10 min?
Yeah it can be as little as a few minutes or longer like 10 to 20 mins

A helpful cue is to not lift the ribs, but rather allow them to relax without slumping.
