      The Lost Boy it wouldn’t work as a general knife but I think would be fine as a serrated bread knife.

    Looks very pretty, although the asymmetry of the triangle bothers me a bit.
    2 things I realized during my own experiments making jewellery:
    - Nickel causes allergies, so I recommend covering any nickel part that might touch the skin with a clear resin.
    - For pendants I recommend having triangles point down and not up, at least if it's intended for women. That way the shape lines up beautifully with the collarbones and the breasts. Also, that way there are no pointy bits poking into sensitive places, which especially women with larger breast sizes will appreciate!

    • @Taunus-Tim
      @Taunus-Tim 5 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      nickel doesn't cause allergies! But IF you already are allergic to nickel, then it causes allergic reactions. the majority of people isn't allergic to nickel, but a fair amount are. So yeah, a coating might be a good idea anyway.

    • @Nemozoli
      @Nemozoli 5 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      @@Taunus-Tim Also, copper tends to become green/stain the skin green with prolonged skin exposure, so coating this pendant is a must!

      @@Taunus-Tim
      Nickel allergies are pretty common, although a pendant isn’t necessarily a problem for everyone who is allergic, unlike earrings where nickel causes inflammation for basically everyone who is allergic to it.

After watching your videos I realised I really miss working with metal and wood. Youve inspired me to make a new knife and given me hundreds of ideas for next projects. Im nowhere near as skilled as you are but i can't thank you enough for unknowingly helping me (and many others i think) get their motivation back. So thank you for all the hard work you put out here. It really helps not only practcally but mentally aswell. I guess all I can really say is thank you, even though I feel like thats not nearly enough to show my genuine gratitude. Keep it up (at your rate of course would hate for you to overwork yourself) and i'll definitely stick around for anything you come up with. • @Taunus-Tim
      @Taunus-Tim 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      1.99 is actually exactly 2 mm if you take the tolerance of the calipers into account. the failure lies in the thousands of a millimeter... saying this, there is no thing on earth, that is "exactly" any size. it's just a matter of how precise your measuring method is. even a drill bit, that measures 2.00000 millimeters would really be something like this size: 2.000035892. but there is a limit how exact you want to measure it.

      Leeroy that is true, and that’s why I want him to stay on them longer. If he can’t even show us a real shot of his work than he’s not holding himself to a high enough standard. This is especially true for someone like him who constantly preaches about how much ‘elbow grease’ he puts into projects, and how he wants them to be absolutely perfect. If he shows the imperfections then he will get criticism and will have to improve. He is extremely talented and a gifted artist, but he still has an immense amount to learn (like he says in his videos all the time).

    For the hanging hole, instead of going front to back which requires a link to put it on a chain, I would have drilled holes in the sides that meet in the middle so that you can put a chain right through it. That way and the front face of the triangle remains unmarked. I think it would have had a cleaner look overall that way, but that's just my personal opinion.
    I suppose if it was really thin this might not have been possible though.

    Use the green wax you've been using for molds - melt a chunk onto the metal to grind and stick a wooden dowel into the wax. Then you can hold the piece to grind and polish. Jewelers do this for lots of things. Adding a very very light coat of something like canola oil on the silicone as a release agent might allow the wax to flow smoothly...

      Proper grammar is "would it not HAVE been" I'm sorry but this is the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. Teachers stopped doing their jobs in the 90s? I'm assuming your age I know. But the contraction "would've" cannot be worked out as "would of" think about what that means. Would of? No. Nails on a chalkboard.
      "Would't've" is my gift to the world. "Would-it have" would't've! The rare and exotic triple contraction!😝
