According to the pts patchnotes, the asylym staves (even non perfected) are being changed back to the way perfected was before greymoore. With every second cast of force pulse guaranteeing burning. Maybe magdks arent doing so bad afterall. .
they capped the asylum staff so the combustion passive only procs once every 3-4 seconds instead of multiple times per second like it was in harrowstorm.
If I understood well, since it has a cast time now, having in the back bar would make us lose dps because of the time wasted on switching bars and having to wait for the cast time. Having in the front we don’t need to lose more of our time switching bars. I believe that’s the reason, but I might be wrong
You cannot bar swap into or out of the ability without losing light attacks and time. 9 out of 10 times you are on your front bar and you swap to the backbar for just a sec to cast cresent sweep, after that you swap back to the frontbar and resume your frontbar rotation, this is not possible anymore because the cast time physically prevents you from doing it. Or you cast it as the last ability on your backbar because your other backbar dots have priority over cresent sweep, but then you can't barswap to the frontbar due to the cast time.
Rest easy MagDk and Magplar. You know I just realized that the mag classes that have sustain issues are also the most fun classes. Its confirmed ZoS doesn't like fun mag classes. Looks like I'll be dusting off the Magblade D:
If everything stays like that, could the meta be breton race for mag dps because of all the sustain issues? Also have you tested magsorc, with the change of cfrag being a strange spammable with cast time?
Breton could very well be required next patch for all classes except nightblades, their sustain is fine with high elf. I have not personally tested magsorc but they can hit in the 88-90k dps range however their sustain is tight with pet setups. With no pets sustain is really good but then again, without pets they hit a like a wet noodle.
Nymzy thanks for the reply ;) yeah sustain is always bad on sorc, that’s why i thought that the change they made to cfrags (lower cast time, proc off itself, and 10% cost reduction after using it) was intended to make cfrag as a spammable to increase sustain and free a slot on a bar. But again, who wants to hard cast this skill, it feels so clunky 😂
@@victorfabre6872 It is very clunky as it does not align properly with any of your dots in most cases. They should just move the cost reduction to the proc itself, hopefully
RagedAvenger Interesting. Why not Maw (or even Zaan) for the monster set? Should’ve probably yielded better results. Idk how to ‘read’ the cm well, but I did noticed the drain is slightly more than regen. How was the sustain throughout the parse for you?
@@刘璐-i5i war maiden is about a 3-4% dps loss. In my medusa test I slotted another ability and it was still the same dps. Medusa might be good for people who are not very good at keeping up minor force, but if u are basicly placing trap on cooldown it's not really worth it in my opinion.
@@wojciechszuba5706 Asylum staff worked really well due to a bug, every 2 forcepulses you apply 1x shock 1x fire and 1x frost. this bug made it so that the game thought you did 3x fire
Make sure u are using Ghastly eye bowl food and double check if you have all the sustain related passives unlocked. Other than that try to get a good up time on siphoning. if u swap to Arterial burst instead of ele weapon sustain is more forgiving so try that aswell.
stamina light attacks aren't very significant compared to lightattacks on magicka specs. stam has around 10-12k LA damage, on previous patches I used to have 20-21k on mag. double the LA damage is around double the loss
So basicly the meta will be magblade and magsorc as free dps class, and ofc magdk and magcros for debuffs? Well glad ive always mained sorc, rip my magden was hitting like a truck and now will be dead again
currently it's magblade>magsorc>magdk>magplar>magcro/magden. You still want 1 sorc for the minor prophecy and 1 magdk for engulfing (1 of them in a zen/mk healer spec) and 3 necro's. After that preferably stack nightblades. Eventhough sorc is second place (close to dk) Nightblade will still blow it out of the water.
@@Nymzy yup as free dps nb will be meta, ofc if we talk about a good progression group, then yeah 1 sorc 1 dk debuff (zen and mk) 3 necros and a full nb dps gang
Thanks for the description. Very informative but very sad too.
Man, it sucks to hear that Magplar has gotten nerfed so hard. Those sweep changes seemed like a nerf to me and they were. Gg ZoS.
all you do is sweep lol
... returning to magsorc/magnb. rip. thank you nymzy, these were the information/opinions i was looking for.
Swear magsorc was nerfed too
@@Lol-ww8xd No matter how much magsorc is nerfed it will still be a good class just because the sheer amount of passive support it has.

Yeah Asylum staves are still Dead pve wise
Nymzy finally giving up the magplar due to nerfs! It's a sad day indeed
My magplar is crying real tears. Nice parse, though.
Hey @Nymzy whats that UI that shows those 2 action bars like that?
Fancy actionbar
Banana: stonks
how is bloodthirsty vs infused doing on jewelry?
.
Ever since week 2 bloodthirsty noticeably outperforms infused on mag dd's

Well time to transition to a stamplar i guess with all these magplar changes.
Do you have any videos to post on Magplar? I also main the class and feel like I need to see the changes with my own eyes.
I will post one on the magplar during the end of the pts cycle, once everything is definitive
😭😭😭😭 but ty for testing all that stuff Bro..
as medusa set is buffed can this set replace ms? And why not use classic spam as it buffed 39% dmg? Ty
swallow soul even though it is buffed, is still worse than elemental weapon. Medusa is the same damage as mother's sorrow but sustain is a lot worse.
