Growing up without a father I never had someone to teach me this stuff. Guess its never to late to learn at 29. Thanks for the tips the master roll is perfect
Subscribers and likes help this guy get more viewers, which helps him get PAID. He deserves to get paid because he's giving out free and helpful info. Amazing how people find a way to complain about FREE top notch advice. I roll my sleeves all the time and had never heard of the Master Roll. Thanks for the knowledge!
I've been in the Army almost 10 years. I LOVE the way my dress blues fit!! I had the greens and they looked so good because they were built to fit me. I try to have all my suits modeled after the way my dress blues fit (but with the pants a little more snug). It displays a sense of leadership, honor and integrity. 3 things we pride ourselves on in the Army. Thank you for your service, brother.
Who is hating? Everyone needs help with shirts. They are so complicated. I put my shirt on backwards the other day. I am hoping he covers that dilemma soon.
Andrew Feist 0:48 "I see this one as for people who have never been around people who have rolled their sleeves." - It is literally an instructional video for those born yesterday. He explains as much. I can't hate a man with that much gaul.
@@ExtremeAnalDischarge Lol done the backwards shirt thing too very early in the morning in the dark. These videos are great, every little detail helps complete the whole package.
I love these older videos with him rambling. They are my favorites to this day. Yeah if I was in a hurry I wouldn’t like it so much, but I love to see his personality and attention to detail or personal anecdotes and whatnot.
The second way is great! I've been always doing the first one, but I was hating it - I love having sleeves at the elbow level, not lower and not higher. I had to twist them to not go down, but that saved them from not falling for literally 5 minutes. Thanks a lot!
Your 'master roll' has really helped me recently as I've been travelling a lot by train and if it's hot on the train then I want to roll my sleeves up, however when I get off the train I want to get them down in a hurry to get my jacket on - it's now so much quicker to roll my sleeves up with the master roll than to simply fold them up three times which was what I was doing before! So thanks for that! Also I really like your videos about the attitude we should have as men, not boys.
I'll file this under useful stuff I learned on the internet. That master roll is bad-ass. I prefer above the elbow because I like to actually use my arms.
I like to roll my sleeves in a basic roll I like feeling it's tight and secure on my arm where some other rolls I tried fall and flop and Im rerolling. maybe I just wasn't doing it right
@seskie Slim fit shirts for sure if your sleeves are that loose around your arm! Depending on the shirt you can also try leaving the gauntlet button (the second, smaller one, partway up the wrist) buttoned and carefully sliding it up past your elbow. It's not MEANT to do that, but if you have slim arms it can work, and can help hold the sleeve up. Roll the sleeve to cover it, though.
Love the videos! About to turn 16 soon, and realized I can't continue wearing t-shirts & gym shoes everyday. One quick question: which roll do you think fits best when wearing a sweater on top? Thanks, and keep up the good work!
When I wanted short sleeves and only had long sleeved shirts I'd roll the sleeves first, then put the shirt on. Always evenly rolled and not constricting.
I've always rolled up my sleeves without thinking there is a right way, just what feels comfortable to me. I've been doing the first one you showed. Thanks for showing different ways to do it. I like the "master roll".
This is the first time i see these videos. I find them very helpful. I appreciate the time you take to let us know your knowledge about dressing. Thanks man
Master roll for me bc having the sleeve below the elbow bothers me for some reason, having it above the elbow it's put up and "away" and doesn't touch and such - plus i've been working on my forearms and i like it lol
As an art teacher, I give you an "A" for drawing attention to the Rule of Thirds! I also teach Spanish, so I prefer the AIFA then. But for art, it's 50/50 all day long! Great videos for those of us who've been in Ts and Jeans for the past decade and have forgotten how to dress ourselves! LOL
Subscribed, thank you! Though my job allows me to dress formal, business casual or casual in the office, I'd like to evolve from jeans and hoodies to decent and presentable. :) This is helpful!
I usually use the twist roll step one: flip cuff step two: pull up above elbow step three: twist cuff and sleeve till cuff faces out and sleeve is tighter. it works looks nice and is easy to pull down, and looks great with Jean jacket. (warning only use if dressing casual)
Instead of rolling the bottom up to the cuff in the Master Roll, try folding the cuff back towards the elbow. This portrays the same material as if the sleeve was unfolded, but now it's up to your elbow. I've been doing it this way for several years now and get nothing but compliments. Good video.
My body doesn't seem to be proportioned properly. My biceps are much larger than my forearms so it gets really tight when I fold it past the elbow. Guess I should buy more shirts... PS thanks for that bit about the marine roll. So much faster!
The third roll works best in my opinion since it looks as you said much sharper than the basic and master roll, and if you have tattoos near the elbow area it´s good for that too.
Can agree, I think this is a rule of thumb with most youtubers is to at least wait and show something first, wait mid way, or till the end before asking all of these things.
I find that by asking I am able to get a high return on subscribers and likes per video which has enabled millions of views and just paid for a new office which means I can make more videos......so that's why I do it!
So the way I rolled up my sleeves all this time actually has a name? And it is Master Roll? Then people can call me Master after this lmao. - I know I say & write silly things sometime =.=
+Real Men Real Style Subscribed! but I do agree with the above comment, mild music and perhaps different zoomed in camera angles focusing on the different roll types would be of asset I believe. Good Luck R.M.R.S!
+Issa Kareem From what I gather he's a free market capitalist, so he was probably on board with a some of republican runners that have already left the race. I don't think he's a fan of trump due to his nature. His general bombastic disrespectful attitude and statements and arrogance. Antone is clean cut. Basic. Very old school. Me, I like trump but I don't trust him all that much so I'm not votin for him
I used to always just push my sleeves up and let my elbow hold them in place (it barely worked and would always come undone). But I recently started doing the basic roll and find it very tight which is why I'm now watching this video. Not sure I want to do the master roll however but we'll see what I eventually choose. Thanks.
Thanks for this. This video was really useful. What you said about certain ways of rolling your sleeves constricting is my biggest struggle and why I decided to investigate the topic at all. Also, I find that the first option you mentioned creases my shirt, so if it gets cooler and I roll my sleeves back down, they're all creased, which is unprofessional. The second method you demonstrated is definitely the way I'm going to start rolling my sleeves from now in. It's easy, won't contrict any movement and it won't crease my shirt. Thanks!
@Equiliz3r We have a few videos on black tie, but nothing vest-specific I don't think. I'll add it to our queue. A backless formal vest is definitely only made to be worn with a black-tie outfit, though -- I wouldn't ever wear one separately. Stick to waistcoats from three-piece suits or unmatched vests for that.
I used to do the basic roll, but it needs a lot of time and precision, if I didn't want to that look wrinkled. Therefore I shifted to the master roll, with only a bit difference, by covering the entire cuff with the sleeves, not leaving even a rim. As an engineer, it makes my look more precise, and planned. However I never heard about A-fold (maybe this is the spelling) roll, what is more practical and faster, so thank you.
+Tilnaor AIFA Roll - This roll is below the elbow and is more of a casual fashion statement. Perfect for a day out with the family - with a dress shirt and your favorite denims.
Not sure if you've done a video on this, but I wanted to know how to wear a formal vest. How should the color scheme work, and also what are the rules with wearing one, can it be worn casually or is it something that is very formal. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers.
While the master roll looks great, for a small correction, the Marine Corps does a variation of the basic roll, where the sleeve is folded to a varying degree to take up the slack and have the rolled sleeves fit as snugly as possible around the arm, often at the expense of comfort. You can often times tell how motivated a Marine is by how tight their sleeves are. Instead, it was the Army and the Navy who used the Master roll to great success. The Air Force uses it, too, but we don't mention them. The Army of course using it when they were still with their old tri-colour camouflage pattern and not the carpet pattern they are currently using. Otherwise great video, truly love what you're doing, thank you for all the advice.

I definitely prefer the master roll over the others because of how good looking, yet quick and easy it is.
