- World Motorsports of Torrance, CA has spent literally years developing a twin-turbo package for the SLS AMG. And as Craig will explain, the process of developing a car like this is incredibly complex from both a hardware and a software perspective. Now in its nearly final state of tune, he hands over the keys so we can have a blast up a canyon road, and the power is simply monstrous. ;

If you really are concerned, writing a comment on the internet is the absolute last place you should ever be voicing that concern. (From someone who gets fat comments from "concerned" people all the time) It will have the exact opposite effect you want it to have.
I dunno, I was 300lb when I was 24, my sister said she was worried about me, which hurt a lot, because it was first time she had ever said anything to me about my weight - because of that concern I lost 130lb and kept it off, more or less for 17 years so far. I'm not saying you should go around bullying people - that's fucked up - but expressing genuine concern, sure you might hurt someones feelings, but if you do it right you might get them thinking about if they want to still be around in 20 years or not.

We have 100 octane at my gas station across from my apt in san diego, I assume thats not common.

A lot of it has to do with how efficiently the compressed air is delivered to the engine. If it isn’t cooled down enough after the turbo compressed it, you’re losing a lot of power. Invest in a good water to air intercooler.
This is why I love this channel. Raw, live driving impressions of such a wide variety of cars.

Although I appreciate the engineering, I'm not that fond of Mercs. This one, however, is awesome. The look, the sound, they got everything right with this car.

Love the SLS and this is the best I've seen, it's proper bad ass gangster while still keeping the style and grace of the original SLS. Fantastic effort, it ticks so many boxes, hats off to the builders. I would love to have this in my garage.

The SLS is a monster. I have a SLS with Weistec tuned ECU/TCU and I do not feel comfortable flooring the throttle anywhere. I can't imagine having 2x the power that I already don't use...cool project though.

Aaron Mah depends on the car and h9w rhetoric previous owner took care of it. Both my c350 and c63 have been just fantastic and nothing but regular maintenence.

to each his own, i personally would've supercharged it. The amount of work that went into a Twin turbo, the amount of piping and the amount of stuff that can go wrong, not to mention the cost and reliability. I personally think a Supercharger suits the car way better. But props to World Motorsports for building it. i mean its a hell of challenge.
I live in Europe so I saw quite a lot of SLS AMGs at car meetings etc but I never saw one with twin-turbo, looks great, sounds nuts. Good job, World Motorsports!

That's not that high at all though, there are many cars that run 12, or 13, albeit never boosted, but still, 6 psi and an 11:1 ratio is impressive nonetheless.

My question is how do you smog this in CA when you delete the cats? In working on a mid mount turbo cat delete turbo kit for my 350 and idk how in going to smog it. I know people do but how do we get around this or install cats to pass?
if you have to ask, you've missed the most obvious solution to the problem.
You can buy high flow cats so you stay legal.

Dude, the point is intentionally not to be helpful in this scenario. Running without cats is super illegal in CA, as is running an aftermarket twin-turbo kit. Running any high flow cat is illegal in California, unless it's BAR approved, and then, it won't be a high-flow cat.
So we don't talk about it. I was trying to be subtle without coming out and saying it, just hinting at it, but since you missed the hint - running an aftermarket twin turbo kit, running a catless exhaust, or both, is illegal in california, and if someone's done it, they found another way around. So for me to give you a straight answer is, effectively, the same as me publicly NARC'ing on someone who's been kind enough to give me seat time in their car.

+James Butler where I live in Northern California, 91 octane runs about $4.39 a gallon. Considering Europe has higher octane levels, I think it's about even. 100 octane is around $10 a gallon here also if you can find it.
+NorcalFA5 Europe and Canada both pay way more than even Californa. We're well over $6.00 an imperial gallon for 91 here in Canada.
Also, European fuels have a higher numerical rating to them, but it's a different fuel classing system. So even though it's rated at 98 or 100, it's really just 91 and 93 octane.
+NorcalFA5 also, £1.15/ltr is almost $7.00 us per Gallon. For the equivalent of 91.
I'm not saying Cali fuel isn't expensive compared to the rest of the US. But it's CHEAP compared to the rest of the world
