Does anyone else think synthetic rubber should be in the game? I mean, it exists. It was first created in 1909 in Germany. So, although late game tech, it would be correct to have it included.
Great video! Maybe one day you could do a guide on how to collapse the starting great powers playing as other nations (For example it’s really hard to reduce the prestige of the UK to overtake them), especially if there is a low infamy way.
An unmentioned advantage of going the protectorate route is that subjects can establish colonies that won't count towards your colonizing cap, thus increasing the total colonization you can achieve, although you have less control over what is done with the colonized land.
My Prussia to HREpublic runs are very much leveraging swaying the netherlands out of major power status by sapping them of subjects any time some indonesian minor revolts against them! a specific weird quirk of the HRE tag is that if italian tags have high radicalism, they can get the event that annexes them all to you for like 25 infamy which is kinda busted but very hard to pull off in the first place, the entire region for almost free. In my games a released Ukraine cannot hold to its rank for too long as the economy tends to be very mismanaged already and the laws it inherits from russia will keep it weak, letting you vassalize them by the time the truce is up.

Hey. Love your videos, you have been hugely helpful for developing my understanding of so many aspects of the game. I have a question regarding incorporating annexed states. What is the optimal strategy for this, should you always immediately incorporate all states you annex?
It's the Divergences of Darkness mod. If you look in the workshop you want to find the link to the one that is for the 1.5 patch update as there is an older version that was for an older patch that hasn't been updated.

Why is this happening so often? I’ve tried for like an hour of save scumming to force the law through but it just doesnt work
I'm rather new to Vic3 (bought it like a month ago) and I don't know what to think about expansion in this game. I usually do some expansion at the beginning to get a powerbase in my starting region and to be able to form a country of higher tier. Sometimes I'll grab some colonies. But then I very rarely expand in the late game. Which makes it kinda boring, just sitting there building buildings and changing laws, but on the other hand I don't feel the need to expand if I have everything I need within my borders. I always preferred playing tall but at the same time I feel like I'm doing something wrong when I don't expand at all.
Honestly the game gets more interesting the better you understand it, because a lot of what you're doing is changing equilibriums or creating snowball effects, so your reinforcement as a player isn't immediate and it can be hard understanding the connection between your actions and outcomes
I tried to use the revolution trick on Belgium to protectorate it for 12 infamy. After about 2 years my war goal disappeared and they capitulated for a white peace? Any ideas? Russia was on Belgiums side and I was playing as the US. My wargoals on Russia did not disappear.
If they became a subject of Russia for their help, then that would've bricked your wargoal. Also if they lost the rev that would brick your wargoal too. I'd have to see what happened exactly.
12:20 nope, iirc infamy can go to zero for a conquered state. Had it happen in my romania game, egypt conquered parts of ethiopia and in the war against them i was able to take their ethiopian states for 0 infamy
There's a bit going on w/ that, but the simple answer is that throughput is more valuable the less you have of it, and that there's not a good way to get throughput on railroads.

If you declare on brazil with the objective of making them lose their wars, they will probably lose their major status.
Probably, but this is extra steps, and you used to be able to get all the territory the get back in their wars too w/o paying the full infamy for it.

What about the diplomatic approach? If you're after resources and/or population both can be achieved through customs union or protectorate.

I think he is scripted to die early, so try to pass a quicker law that will cripple the landowners (f.e. homesteading, dedicated police, etc.)

There's a percentage chance that a vassal will allow peaceful annexation.

Quick question, why do you value companies with 10% railway throughput so highly?
There's a bit going on w/ that, but the simple answer is that throughput is more valuable the less you have of it, and that there's not a good way to get throughput on railroads.
