The direction of the gasoline is to flow from the outside of the mesh to keep the dirt particles outside, otherwise, you will never see how dirty is the filter.
@@ACProductions77I just did a search for this topic and your video was the second to show up in the search results, specifically this video with you explaining the incorrect direction for the fuel to flow multiple times and and not an “updated” video. Nor does this video have any indication or warning that it has incorrect information. The only reason I even know this video is wrong multiple times with information that isn’t correct is the comment from a fellow viewer. Don’t you think the video’s comments should have a pinned comment from you explaining how it has incorrect information? Shouldn’t the title or any main part of this video be updated to notify of the incorrect information? Or shouldn’t this video just be deleted given its numerous incorrect installation details? 🙄

I work for 6 months now on my bike 96 softail. I mount the first fuel filter in March and the whole summer my bik runns like fuel is going out. I work on my bike 4months tofind the problem. I check stator, regulator, all electric cabels, check camshaft pos sensor connectors clean 6 times carb change 3 other carbs rebuild the first carb changed VOES sparkplugs and spark cabels main fuse And today afternoon before to see this video i check my fuel vaacuum tap . Befor and after filter. The fuel pees big without filter and small with filter so i see the tubing of the filter is half or smaler than the carb in and the fuel tap. So you have absolutly toght with the explication . Except the fuel.firection. !!!! Thanks for ghe explication!
You start to go wrong at 1:28 seconds. The fuel flow inters the filter at your LEFT hand, flows thru the filter to the inside and then out at your RIGHT hand. Simple mistake but wrong and may cause a failure later.
depending on how dirty it is you can reverse flush it, if that doesn't get all the debris out then it will just be best to replace the filter with a new one
@@ACProductions77 I soaked it in carb cleaner and cleaned with compressed air. It looks pretty good now, but I feel that type of filter restricts flow a lot.
@@fredchevry5786 How was your bike performing before you install the filter did you still feel that It was getting restricted it be that you’re your fuel injectors be clogged and they either be need to be changed or clean if that’s not the case it could be that the filter you bought was a little bit on the smaller diameter size try getting a slightly bigger filter hopefully this helps
@@ACProductions77 It's super weird. Everything works 100%, but I have no power above 70mph and gas mileage is terrible. It's a carbed bike btw. Honestly it's driving me nuts. Carbs are clean, jets are new, floats work fine, all cylinders fire, coils brand new, tank de-rusted yet it still lacking go juice. Any ideas? Note: Bike already had that filter when I bought it, so it's always run like that.
@@ACProductions77 yup thats what im gonna do. i did go to a mechanic and told him to clean the FI. i guess that guy didnt clean it. the tank is full of rust. bike sat for three years. i did fill it up before storing it
@@vantatilfly if your tank rusty from the inside maybe it will be best to get a new tank or used but with no rust, as the fuel will constantly clog up the filter with the rust particles
@@ACProductions77 i cleaned up the tank using rust remover. it takes some time for all the converted rust to flush out. i put in bigger pistons and the racing ecu is busted. thats probably why its starved. and the tiny filters too
FYI fellow viewers. The direction of fuel flow when installing is incorrect in this video. It should be the opposite, with the fuel flowing into the filter from the exterior of the filter media and should filter through the media and then into the interior of the media then down the output connection. Also, this video just explains that you need a 3/8” connector on the filter input and output, nothing more. Just buy this K&N and be done with it. K&N 81-0300

@@ACProductions77 on the first fiter after that you opened it, you said fuel comes throw the filter side and goes out to engine from the side which has no filter. You explain it from 1.20 to 1.40 minutes of the video.
You might've 'wasted' your time and money buying the first two, but you saved many of us the time and money. Thank you for the upload.

On Filter Nr.3, the EDELBROCK 8157, the filter is not made of stone, it's a sintered-bronze 40-micron element.

@@fredchevry5786 do you have power commander or ecu flashed? You may need to get your bike tuned at a performance shop.
i did bore bigger holes but its still starving the engine
then it could be that your fuel injectors are clogged, try cleaning them then retest

You get the fuel filter going upside down there go the othere way
honestly I don't think it really matters as I haven't had any issues running it that way

AC Productions every filter should flow from the outside of the filament towards the inside as there is more surface area to catch debris
