Lyrics to my song Borrow Borrow
Morning Bird by the river bend
Seeing her up after dawn make her way through the wooded land
How I wish to look at you
How I wish to talk to you
But dare do I disturb
This Beaty in the woods?
Sheltered Girl under canopy
Her Mom and Dad asleep at home in the trunk of knotted tree
Turning my face away
Looking away as she bathes
her lanterns light
Illuminates the night
Borrow, Borrow
Take all that you please
All the earths most pretty things mean nothing much to me
Till we meet
Bare as eve in her revelry
Misty rain so finely falls upon her merrily
No I won’t be ravenous
Knowing only crooks steal a kiss
But who will deserve
This beauty in the woods?
Borrow, Borrow
Take all that you please
All the earths most pretty things mean nothing much to me
Till we meet
Shadowed landing up out of view
I’ve lingered there most of my nights and wish to wade with you
A doe a deer would silence me
And though I dare not to speak
All my loving words
Echoe through these woods
Borrow, Borrow
Take all that you please
All the earths most pretty things mean nothing much to me
Till we meet
I always thought that when John sang "so I lit a fire" it was in a fireplace. Damn.
rangers94ism I want to hold onto that fireplace meaning
I think it does mean that, not him burning a fucking house down. Although it is funny to think about
That's the good thing about open interpretations... It can mean what you think it means
Yeah ay... Same.
It makes sense though
So I lit a fire wasn't it good, Norwegian wood
LMFAO
@rangers94ism......I thought the same thing! Brings a whole differing perspective about John and his intricate, but simultaneously simple writing style......and his unabashed symbolism and innuendo....
**George Martin, in agonizing pain from his ski injury**
John: I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me...
U mean George Harrison?????
@E.A. de Ruiter oh now I hear it
0:56 that glimpse of Dylan with Lennon is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Glorious
I love how being a massive fan of The Beatles myself, I can hear their influence in your music. In a really good way. Lovely.
Your song at the end was beautiful
are u nuts , they're saying the end alluded to him burning the girls house down
Lovely!
I agree. Pure Beatles too.
I found myself in sudden, desperate need to understand this song and I just knew you'd have something on it! Haha thanks! Fantastic video
every time I hear this song I really fancy a curry, don't know why.
I always thought Norwegian wood was slang for marijuana. The song seems to make sense that way.
Borrow, Borrow! Great song. Great performance. Very impressive sir.
6 years ago I taught myself to play it properly. It was so rewarding to be able to play such an beautiful, whimsical, enigmatic and iconic Lennon ballad. 6 months later I met a beautiful French woman. I sat at the bottom of her stairs at her's and played her the song. She was mesmerised. I didn't burn her place down, and she's now my partner. Thanks John!
Beautiful! Lovely..."Borrow Borrow" is a gem. Love the chord changes supporting the beautiful vocals & lyrics. +10. Oh, and love the Beatles part of this video, of course!
It's hard to become a famous musician now a days. But I appreciate your music. Especially this new one of yours. You've got potential. You obviously have the skills
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out......
did you see the trailer for the new movie about a British Indian guy who wakes up in a world without the Beatles and only he remembers their songs? Looks like great fun :)
I’m actually really looking forward to it! The girl from baby driver is in it and she’s an a amazing actress.
I was wondering how you felt about it.. had you heard about it while they were casting it? Do you have any sense of “bitter man” regarding it?
I think it will be a great comedy movie for Beatles fans I'm looking forward to it too
"Yesterday" ! Look like a fun romp!
@@JamesMaharajOfficial I believe you are refering to Eiza Gonzalez. Ana de Armas was not in Baby Driver
That Borrow Borrow is a beautiful song! Nice song writing and performance.
Absolutely blown away by your song. Wow, I'm in awe. It was really amazing 👏
That is an EXCELLENT song that you played and sung at the end of this video. I enjoyed listening to it!
Such a great song! Awesome chords; wonderful prosity. Keep up the great work!!
What a beautiful song! Love your videos about the Beatles and now I see you are very talented in your own right. Congratulations!
I really like ur song "Borrow Borrow" ... it's very Beatlesque & quite good! ! ! 👌 👏👏
The Beatles song I've really been waiting for you to explain. I can finally know!
COMPLETELY WRONG INTERPRETATION. NoRWEGIAN WOOD IS 'grass AND ASS.'
That was a nice surprise at the end of the video! It definitely has that Beatles flavor. You have a nice voice and your playing fit perfectly
Great song of yours! Beautiful singing and innovative melody
Always grateful for your content!
I’ve been playing Norwegian Wood for a long while and I didn’t know the story, so thank you for that. Now for the bonus of your beautiful song, it is wonderful and you sound great.
I heard that Ringo misheard the title: Knowing she would as Norwegian Wood and John liked it better as he has often favored wordplays…👍
I loved “Borrow Borrow”! Is it on Apple Music?
Lovely song mate! actually made it to the end bravo 👏
I loved that song you wrote and sang. It is very melodic and takes me somewhere romantic and sentimental. Thank you for such an ingenious piece of work. You are a true artist.
5:54 Don't forget arsen! Also I love that new song at the end!
Thanks for the heart, HollyHobs, I love this channel, it's great that there's actually a TH-cam channel that does in-depth videos about The Beatles.
Borrow, Borrow - a great song! Congratulations. It could be something John would have come up with at his very best.
I listen to your song on monday morning, set my mood for the rest of the week. Thank you
I love this song so much. It contains so much. Just a young lad from Liverpool suddenly in the world of the London rich and chic, his encounter with a woman, and it resonates with so much wistfulness, playfulness, tenderness, a sense of feeling for what it was like for Lennon at that time, a melodic romantic tenor about a very specific scenario he experienced. A story and a moment and a beautiful song and tale. Cornershop did a fun version of it singing the lyrics in Punjabi :)
You would have been gigantic in the late 60's, early 70's
AWESOME song!!
Best part of the vídeo, your original song! Love it!
Wow borrow borrow is a fantastic song, just beautiful, keep writing man 😎
Wow great story and AWESOME original at the end with your own stuff!
Nice song and rendition. Great singing and playing. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful song you performed.
Great chord changes, finger picking very good, controlled, I like your lyrics, nice sensitive voice style. Keep it up!
what a nice song. unexpected chord changes make it interesting, but always musical, and not contrived . you have a very pleasant voice, and a bit of Beatles flavor, which is never unwelcone. Nice job!
Lol wtf..
I was just listening to Norwegian when u post this lololol!!
Things like that happens to me ALL THE TIME!
B>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>S!
The report is kind of bullshit saying John said he wrote it all. I’ve heard him always give Paul credit for the fire
I really like " Borrow borrow "
Sick song bro
Man he has the style of the Beatles down pat. Great job.
Beautiful Song at the end.. Love it Borrow Borrow!
That's gorgeous. Tear. Seriously. I want this song. I need it.
Well I enjoyed the story and the song you so well performed at the end was purely magical and that was Truly GREAT!.
Thank you, this is my favourite Beatles song!
Lol.....how can anyone have a favorite Beatles song?
I'd like to know what makes it so special to you? I'm very curious
@@wesleyalan9179 Perhaps I should amend my comment, One of my favourites.
@@MaxFarquhar01 ,oh ok...I was REALLY wondering how anyone could have a favorite Beatles song, lol thanks for the reply✌
I’ll be honest, I haven’t thought much of your songs so far, but “borrow borrow” is something special. That being said, I usually have to listen to an artist a bit before beginning to appreciate their craft. Once again, nice video
Thank you for the Beatles story. Nice, very nice song at the end. Beautiful!!!
Borrow Borrow !!! Great Voice !!! Great Song !!!
I believe Paul's explanation.
It is always the survivors that write the history books 🙂
Thanks for your song. I enjoyed it immensely. You have a very interesting chord structure and the lyrics are like poetry (which I think is a very good thing).
Beautiful song my friend, good luck to you in the future
Your song is Beautiful man... you're good!!! It has like a Beatles touch.... Nice....
Wonderful song and brillant voice and guitar chords.
I have to confess when I saw you were going to share your song, my first thought was "Who does this guy think he is, sharing his own song after talking about the Beatles??" But the song was totally Beatle-worthy. Well done, sir.
This is beautiful.
Your very talented
"Borrow Borrow" is absolutely terrific!! keep it up!👍👏
I love writing songs and songwriters. Great song!
borrow borrow is so lovely! i love your beatles song series too. i have been watching one everyday with my lunch!
Ravi Shanka who taught George Harrison to play the sitar is Nora Jones’ father
Yeah. Who knew that there were Ravi Shankar groupies?
According to Nora Jones, he was more like sperm donor than a father
Or so I've read.
How the Beatles made "Norwegian Wood"
My Brain: Cut some Norwegian Trees
Your music at the end just rocks man...
Borrow Borrow is the best part of this video. Great song, well played and sung!!
Became a subscriber..superb original tune-Borrow..very reminisce of Beatle tunes..the influence shows...thankyou
I can hear John here but you also are an original....to your own self be true . So glad to know you were inspired by geniuses who called themselves The Beatles . Your info on them is priceless , thank you ....Rave on .
thank-you for sharing borrow borrow touched me
I love that augmented to Dm7 change. Lovely.
I'm not crying you are.
John also used to 'Make Stuff Up' just to mess about with reporters and interviewers.
Not much of what is mentioned here in Quotes from John can be taken 100% as the truth.
That's a nice song you wrote. You can hear the Beatles influence.
Beautiful song at the end
I could easily hear Lennon singing that. Amazing job.
You do such a great job. I wish you could put these in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!
You made it again!!!!! Thanks for the quality video!
Borrow Borrow is great!
I really love this site. Keep it all coming please.
Your song Borrow Borrow is amazing. The beginning of the chorus until the “you please” part sounds like it was a little bit inspired by Blue Jay Way.
You're so amazing these videos make my day and hollyhobbs is so good❤️❤️❤️❤️
A honest good song with no tech enhancement this is what pure music is about well done mate.
Bravo on the song! I’ve written a few songs but they’re nowhere as beautiful as that.
Usually when a non Beatles fan thinks of The Beatles they think Blackbird or Here Comes The Sun but this song is way better in my opinion
I would think that they would think of "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "Twist and Shout", "Come Together", "Hey Jude" -- but yes, I do agree "Norwegian Wood" is severely underrated, as are many of the Beatles lesser known songs.
Not really sure if any Beatles songs could be described as lesser known
Mitchell Drums How do you know what other people think of? Norwegian Wood is very well appreciated tune
@@kaylubproductions4517 with most musicians their big hits are their best songs but with the Beatles their non-hit songs are just as good or way better then their biggest hits.Ex: Norweigan wood>hello goodbye,Dont bother me>love me do,Tomorrow never knows>lady madonna.
@@personalcheeses8073 he is a hipster and thinks he is more worldly than you or I. Most likely a Democrat.
I did not know that, that the end of the song was about setting a fire as revenge, I thought it was just lighting a fire in the fire place.
I love your new song!
Borrow Borrow is a 10/10 song
Borrow Borrow is a good song and I'm glad you wrote it and that I listened to it I will listen to it again and you should put it on an album
I have to say using Dylan-esque lyrics to hide an affair you were having is pretty clever
John was on fire songwriting wise on Rubber Soul (Nowhere Man; Girl; The Word and of course In My Life)
Beautiful song....love the melody and the chord changes and configurations....Is there a completed version of this song with a full band arrangement???
good work - never thought about the arson bit... that song at the end is nice. My liverpudlian ears hear a lot of Beatles in that .... hits of Julia. Beautiful.
I had always thought that the title was more of John's wordplay language that can be found in his book, In His Own Write. Norwegian Wood being wordplay for Knowing She Would.
I’ve heard that it was originally: Knowing she would, but Ringo misheard it as Norwegian wood and John liked it better because he’s been famous for all kinds of word plays…🤪👌
@@ristovirtanen6396, that sounds about right to me also.
I agree, and the part of Ringo misunderstanding is like another song being called "Badge" instead of Bridge.
The song at the end … I love the world
Song at the end was superrr gassss !!!!!🥂🕺🏼
Knowing she would
Beautiful song, sweet playing & an inspiring guitar....
Great video too
Norwegian Wood is my go to song on acoustic.
Great information. One of the first songs I ever learned. I love your original song at the end!
Tricky way to get us to hear your song! ;)
full cheese
That was a cool way of getting me to listen to your song. And I did. Like it.
you are the fifth Beatles my friend, a succeed song where melting the "3" melodics of John, Paul and George. A real Beatles song! thank you!
Beautiful song brother.
Borrow borrow is really entertaining to listen. A good song 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Downloaded your album on Spotify. I haven't listened to the whole thing but what I've heard so far, I like it.
