      I believe that's exactly why they got that far, because they had a friendly race to whom wrote the best songs, if you see how they first songs sounded, they weren't as good as they would later be, don't get me wrong, I love their debut and such, but they grow as a band to the point they wrote such masterpieces

    • @lynnturman8157
      @lynnturman8157 3 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      It's because they pushed each other to be better & better. I think of it like a 100 yard dash. John & Paul are so busy trying to beat the other in the race that they haven't noticed 3rd place is 50 yards back.

    Huge fan of the Beatles here. Small story: When my youngest son was 4, he came up to me one day and asked me if love was a game. It took me awhile to figure out why he had asked this question but it turned out that he had been listening carefully to the lyrics of Yesterday, which I used to sing to him before bedtime. He's now 15 and still listening to the Beatles.

    I saw this video while stuck on a train running 65 minutes late. I knew absolutely nothing about The Beatles and might have heard just about 4 songs up to that moment. But in that moment, everything was a good distraction. "Beatles it is then" I thought to myself. After this video was over I went and listened to a Paul McCartney GQ interview. Then another Paul McCartney interview. Then I logged on Spotify and listened to the White Album. The day after it was Abbey Road. After that it was Revolver. A few months go by, my entire identity is based on The Beatles, my savings went to Beatles records, my room is decked out with Beatles posters and records and I've ran out of Beatles media to consume. Now I'm back to the video that singlehandedly made my brain rot over The Beatles. Thank you TH-cam user The Beat Goes On.

In 63 my sisters told my dad they were staying at their friends house for the night when actually they were at Empire Pool (Wembley Arena) London to see the live. The concert was recorded by the BBC and one shot showed my sisters screaming their heads off, my dad was non too pleased. I brought St Peppers album and their White album and remember their split up very well as I’ve 3 sisters and 3 brothers all 3 sisters were crying even my eldest sister who was married and pregnant then was crying. She no longer with us but I’ll never forget her utter devotion to the Beatles, wonderful memories miss you big sis. 🥲🥲🥲🥲

    John & Paul made each other better....they found the missing component in each other & it showed in the lack of that component existing in their solo work. They also made George level up & brought the best out of Ringo's more creative drumming. If they wouldve just went on hiatus & came back together or just continued to evolve by adding variables like maybe getting Brian Wilson to quit the Beach Boys to join them....we'd have so much more to smile & talk about.

    Funny story back in the 60’s when my grandfather was a teenager I think he said he was 17, he was with a friend accompanying him to the airport, they noticed tons of teenage girls holding up signs for something, they didnt really notice what they were though. They got there super early and to kill time they wandered around the airport. They somehow got into the underground area of it and actually saw all 4 of the Beatles hanging out and talking to each other. They were laughing at a joke one of them told. When they saw my grandfather and his friend they got sort of deer in the headlights looks on their faces, turns out those signs were for them and they were hiding out from their fans. I think he said Paul McCartney and another one I think it was ringo said hi to them and they said hi back and kept on walking. That’s his little Beatles story he told me once

      Nobody can touches the fabulous Beatles...Nobody... For me, the second best « band » is a duo with a pure genius named Paul Simon... if you put all the extraordinary songs that Paul Simon has written...He must be considered...just Sound of silence or The boxer, or Scarborough fair, or Bridge over trouble water, or 50 ways to live your lover and many many others... Very underrated this guy... Hu....who else?, maybe Pink Floyd because they wrote so fantastic songs and they were different with a floating mervellous sound, so Pink Floyd... I love Eagles also...For the rest, all England band...Genesis, Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Procol Harum... But, again, the Beatles are alone in the category of best band ever...

      You got it! George Martin, producer and a well-schooled musician to boot. He applied his music theories in arranging the raw song materials of the fab four that galvanized the Beatles' music. Indeed, "Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart's Club Band" was credited to George Martin's great contribution to the said album. Unarguably, the former deserves to be named the Fifth Beatles.

I wasn't a fan back then, but even so I knew that those were very bad news. I have all of their original songs in my smartphone's memory ever since my phones had enough storage to hold them all. When I change phones, their songs jump to the next.

    That’s the wrong album cover. That cover is for the “Yellow Submarine Songtrack” album, released sometime in the 90s or 2000s featuring all the songs sang in the movie. The album released in 1969 featured only a few songs (ones which were featured in the movie but which had not previously been featured on any studio albums such as “All Together Now” and “It’s All Too Much”) and a few instrumental tracks composed by George Martin from the movie. Those are not included on the Songtrack album.
    That being said, none of this f*cking matters.

    When I was a child, my father has a CD case holder filled with countless CD's of different bands. Among all of them, I remembered I played the Beatles the most since I loved all their songs. Nobody told me to play them. I just discovered the CD myself. I became their fan even before realizing how extremely popular they were or even how impactful they were in music history. Just from their songs.

      Just like most, they were filled with excitement, optimism joys of huge success, in the early days of the 60s, by the mid 60s, they had done it all, movies, cartoons, millions of followers, but as you get older you get cynical, you see all the crap that life has to offer? divorce,drugs,bad health, relationships, so obviously they wrote how they were feeling, and by the late 60s, they weren’t the same happy people that they were in the beginning.

      I read an unabridged version of the biography of the Beatles called Tune In. It's 1700 pages long and took two months to read... It only covers the first 5 minutes of this video. So it took 1700 pages to tell the story of the Beatles only up until their first album release.

  • @inkey2
    @inkey2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    A PART OF THE STORY that almost never gets mentioned is how Pete Best's mother "Mona Best" may actually be the prime person who started the spark that got the Beatles rolling. How did Mona Best know to sell all her belongings and place a 30 to 1 bet at a race track. That win gave her the money to buy a "huge" home. She started a club in the basement. She needed a "house band" for the club with her son as drummer. It took "decades" for this information to surface.....and there are video interviews that now verify this. I won't even speculate publicly how she knew to place that bet on that specific horse.
