    Never has there been a more true video. Well, I was married for 17 years, province girl, turned banker, well educated in the province. While i was focusing on building joint wealth, saving all i could, she was focused on saving for her family and her. People will say well you should of watched more of the assetts. Well after so many years you would think they would have the joint mindset, but in the back of thelr mind it is them and their family's wealth, you are just along for the ride. Usually when your life runs out of gas or is no use to them, then sorry you dont fit with the program anymore. So after 17 years she has multiple properties and a mercedes. And I am back to the trailer. Wish I would of heard this video 20 years ago

      This is more true than you guys know. We live in arguably the most prominate subdivision in Naga City. Our neighbor has gone through 1 husband and 4 boyfriends to complete the house she built. Fast forward the house is done her nice 7/11 style store in town is open and doing well. The family is well fed and as Mark said Filipinas are planners you will never be part of the equation.

      This makes no sense. You claim you were "focusing" on saving for 17 years. Sounds like the same focus Haystack Calhoun put into dieting.

      What do you think is the hidden agenda of a very young poor village girl why she put up with an old cranky white man????? You used her youth to boost your ego, and she used your $$$s for herself and her family.
      Love between a very young poor girl and an old white man doesn‘t exist in reality, it is an illusion.

      @@graciamaryakelley7805 And you are so right. If the man is stupid enough to put himself in that position without doing his due diligence he deserves exactly what he gets.

      I wasnt a cranky white man, I was 32 and she was 25. You seem to be so confident you know everyone's situation.

    Enjoyed your perspective. You sound like you have a military background. You mentioned that your comments were not just focused for those dating/marrying Filipino ladies. I agree. I served 30 years in the Navy and then joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 4 years in Iraq working on community infrastructure projects in such places as Fallujah, Ramadi and suburbs of Baghdad (not the Green Zone). At age 59, I decided I'd had enough and retired to a quiet beach in Thailand. After five months in Pattaya, I met a 28-year-old lady who was working at a streetside noodle stand, married her six months later, our son arrived two years after that, and we've been together now over 12 years. Because of our age difference I have a little different perspective than you. I realize my life expectancy is probably another 10 to 15 years, so my priority is making sure my wife and son have some security after I'm gone. My wife is basically a village girl (no college) but I don't mind her saying, my money is her money and she pays all the bills. We bought three different plots in her name, one focused on rubber tree production, a second filled with palm oil trees, the third rasbutin fruit trees. As long as I'm alive we have good income from my military retirement as well as social security, and my son gets a social security check as well. Just like you said, my wife is an awesome cook, she does the laundry, the cleaning. We hire a crew to do lawn care and trim the shrubs. My job is washing the dishes and emptying the garbage. My son has autism and when we decided her hometown school was unable to help him, it was my wife who did the research and made the decision we needed to move hundreds of miles away to get him enrolled in a special school focused on his needs. It was a true blessing and our son made such progress he is now enrolled in a Christian school in that same community functioning in a normal classroom. Anyway, agree with you about each of us needs to ensure the husband/wife/children are all doing their part to support/strengthen the family castle. I'm also sure that in my case going back stateside would be a total disaster -- my wife has friends/family here in Thailand and those people are fundamental to her happiness. Truly enjoyed your presentation and the way you communicated your points in a simple/common man perspective. First time I've seen your blog. and I immediately hit the like button and subscribed. Well done.

    Brother Mark. You have hit the ball out of the park on your last few practical advice videos. I too have allowed a Filipina to run game on me. Fortunately it didn’t cost too much but it sure did hurt. My advice to newbie’s; develop a game plan and keep your head on a swivel while keeping one hand on your wallet.

    "When nobody is looking she's over at the buffet stuffing shrimp in her purse....." spit the ice tea out of my mouth all over the floor! Best laugh I've had in weeks. Took my village girl to an Xmas party....thankfully she wasn't that bad. No real issues because she could speak English, was social, and had great fashion sense...but she didn't own any of the clothing, had to buy her outfit from head to toe.

    Married the Physical Therapist...we met in the US.....she is an amazing wife and mother. Even as a professional that grew up in the Philippines she has some province girl stories and experiences for sure. One plus with professionals...is less family asking for money usually. But I'm working and our age between me and wife is not far apart. If i was a older guy retired I'd probably get the girl not a professional so we could travel easier possibly. If don't plan to travel months at a time the professional Filipinas are great women.

  • @mrb-6118
    @mrb-6118 2 ปีที่แล้ว +32

    I have been in country now for 6+ years. Have a partner for 3+. She is educated and has a career. It is a good thing.
    The more education she has the more open she is to not having children. She is also more open to not letting the family be the prime financial driver in her life. The families here can suck you dry and just leave the husk behind when they move on to the next target.
    My requirements were:
    No kids. Past, present, or future.
    Real job.
    Economically stable family.
    Passport that has been used.
    We must live in the PI.
    College educated.
    No marriage.
    No allowance.
    Family support is emergency only.
    It has worked really well so far.

    • @mixmatch608
      @mixmatch608 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like your requirements. I have similar requirements with some listed.
      My requirements:
      1. No kids with her past relationships. We shall have max 1 kid if relocating her to my country due to high cost of living.
      2. Preferably someone working in same industry as me
      3. She is willing to relocate and we work together in building a family
      4. College educated
      5. Family support is emergency only (I expect her to support her family with her own salary if she is working while I focus in the house bills and monthly expenses.)
      *Her family wise is something I feel is uncontrollable. I accept the fact that no one is perfect. She may have good job while born in poor family. If given a choice, I do hope they are economically stable.

    • @Noniksleft
      @Noniksleft 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Won't they all want a kid at some point down the line?

    • @mrb-6118
      @mrb-6118 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Noniksleft Actually , not all do want kids . Education is the key. The poorly educated have kids to try to ensure their own financial future. The parents push the "family first" ideology in order to be able to extract resources from their children when they are adults. A built in retirement plan.

    • @Noniksleft
      @Noniksleft 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mrb-6118 Obviously I over generalized, but it would be a very small percentage that truly don't ever want to have a child, especially when they have a man that can provide a good level of comfort.

    My woman is inbetween. From the province but had several jobs and been abroad working. She moved here to Sweden 5 years ago, first 2 years she go to school learning swedish, then we had our daughter and covid came so we where just at home together. Now she have started working and Im a stay at home dad. We sent he youngest brother to school and he is now graduating as police (but its cheap since deuterte made collage "free"). The good thing for me that she is working is that she will send her money, when we go vaccation she will pay for her ticket. She still do most things she used to apart from taking care of the kid. The "bad" is that I had to stop smoking and cut down on drinking.
    Its hard to know what the future actually will become, but since we have a kid and our age differance is only 12 years I think we will be together until she retires(cant earn more money) and might want to move back to Philippines. Sadly I cant move there, my medicin is 150 dollar a year here in Sweden, but in Philippines it would be 1100 dollar a month.

    Marco, should have told me this 2 months ago. BTW, I know you are fond of Colombia. Having been in relationship with a Colombian for > 1.5 decade with a child, I can tell you that Colombians think exactly like a Filipina village girl. After multiple K1 visas and a marriage, my wife flat out told me that she will send her money back to Colombia when she gets her green card and paycheck. Our child’s college tuition, getting a better home for us, etc. were not even remotely part of her future plan.

But you get a A+ as a loving father. Fatima can learn English from u if she just listen to u talk that’s how I learn mine.l was from the village and I only have 8 grade education.When I arrive in the US I only speak a few words in English.At the beginning I have a hard time understanding my late husband because he has that strong southern accent.I learn a lot from him specially filing my own taxes.Even now I still continue learning English because I don’t speak perfectly but l can get by

    Very well thought out video, 100% accurate if you want a happy life just follow these simple suggestions and you may hit the jackpot in relationships, also best to marry a girl 5/8 years younger then you, especially if you live in a western country. Once a woman goes through the change, your sex life is pretty much over, at least in SEA there are options and alternatives, I really miss SEA as an older guy.

    I am currently working in the finance industry, had some internship in banks when I was still studying for degree. In my opinion, I feel I would have more connection and common topics to talk about with a banker rather than village girl, including common life goals and mutual understanding in long hours work commitment. Therefore, I would prefer to pursue a banker rather than a village girl. Would be interested to see what other viewers think.

      Definitely date an educated middle class girl. Dating an ignorant village girl is like dating an adult with a child-like understanding of the world.

      This myth is fascinating - that a man should marry a copy of himself. My husband and I connected with boom boom three times a day. We did motorcycle trips. Camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, etc. We had children right away and they are the primary nexus for us every day of the week. I did physical therapy for his mother every day after she had a stroke. I give him hour long massages most days.
      Take your pick: talking about net present value on a capital project and someone's loan amortization... or a thick prime rib steak dinner, and a massage followed by sex. My husband is a three time state and midwest USA champion fighter. A performance musician. I don't do either of those things. He wasn't looking for an MMA fighter for a wife. He wanted a girl who would homeschool his children.
      Our kids were reading by age 2 because I taught them. By age 9 both tested college level reading. But I'm just a village girl without college. The 12 year old is registered for the SAT on December 2. He already broke the meter on the local University's placement exams. He's been admitted to the engineering program. His scholarship will depend on the SAT score.
      Why do I know about net present value and loan amortizations, balance sheets, income statements, statement of retained earnings, ROI, debt to net worth, price/earnings, etc.? Because my husband started teaching me after the kids gained self-sufficiency in their studies.
      Two things I know about you: first, you don't view people as capable of learning. They are like lifeless lumps of clay, stuck in whatever shape you meet them with. So a "village" girl isn't capable of learning anything. Conversely, the second thing I know about you: the inability to properly lay a wife.

    • @redman6790
      @redman6790 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@amylee6038 that is fascinating. I’m someone who is from the city, working in tech and wants to marry a village girl who homeschools the children. Lots to take from this, but ultimately it is that your woman is malleable and a vessel, how you shape her and what knowledge you fill in her comes down to what you value and your effort.

    • @amylee6038
      @amylee6038 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redman6790 Good for you. We can't make the mistake of conflating "education" with intelligence.
      You do want a smart girl. You can determine that just by interacting with her.
      To be a "banker", meaning someone with a college degree and who has moved up beyond entry level work... you are talking about someone ten years older than me when I married my husband. And that's cool if you like geriatric sex I guess.

    A banker would be a closed book know-it-all but a village girl is open and can learn. So. I guess it boils down to whether you want a boring bean counter or someone who likes to explore life.

    Well you, definitely made some good points, and just as you said the career-oriented Filipinas work with some ex-pats. I on the other hand in the exact situation where my girlfriend has worked her job for 15+ years and is the breadwinner of her family and have no intentions of moving around to different parts of the Philippines as I intend to do. Needless to say, our relationship was on borrowed time and we both agreed to a mutual breakup with no hard feelings. FYI: In more cases than not if you take her away from supporting her family guess who that falls on? Yes, you. Thank you for your real-life video as it relates to working vs non-working Filipinas. I look forward to your next 📹.
