    to the people who agree with Tye Tribbett and assume I did not hear the entire video or understood the context, I did. In fact, hearing it all in context should show that he is hypocritical, and unqualified. If you'd like to see the greater discussion then please watch th-cam.com/video/iV_-u_PWFmg/w-d-xo.html

      He spoke about the false leaders making the church “wack.” It’s those wicked false teachers which the word of God speaks of that sneak in unaware and damage the true motive of the body of Christ. That’s the real wack part. And the fact we be open and honest about our short comings allows more glory and honor to be placed on Jesus Christ. The fact Tye gave glory to His Name is powerful enough to the point many people will say “in his name” or “the Son” speaks volumes. Why are we so critical on people when Jesus was not.

    I think it’s vital to listen to the entire interview.. speaking as one who felt his comments were irresponsible originally. The freedom and rebellion he spoke of was when he was much younger and forced to go church vs maturing and developing a relationship with God for himself. For those who grew up Pks understand the pressures. He also acknowledged his rebellion and went back to the church because he knew he was out of the will of God.
    I believe in holding each other accountable, however I think it’s vital that we seek to get an understanding and know the heart of those we judge or correct. I believe in holiness and I’m an advocate for church Christ died for and after listening to the entire interview, what he was saying made a lot more sense. And it’s the same thing many are saying. How Pastors make the church about them and “name/brand”.

    • @dawnyd6282
      @dawnyd6282 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree just watched and he so missed the main point of what Tye was talking about.
      Tye’s point: Get back to the heart of the Word which is being led by the Holy Spirit and bring it all back to Jesus.
      In today's “church environment” we are not getting this. What we are getting is a whole lot of IDOLIZATION of leadership in the church. The system of church is whack because it's treated more like a business entity versus a living body with Christ at the Head. People today put more faith in pastors versus God. The legalism is another major problem because it's no different then the “hedge or protective wall” the Jewish people practice today, which is creating all these man-made rules and regulations to avoid the chance of sinning.
      What Tye experienced about the strictness that caused rebellion is absolute truth! I didn't grow up in the church but when I got to college, just about most of the PK/churched freshmen lost their minds!!! They were doing the most and I was just shocked until realizing these kids just never experienced life outside of the church. Thankfully a majority got it out their system and got back into right standing with the Lord. However, I still see this till this day with kids who live sheltered lives based on man made church rules. Instead of putting fear into people, teach them how to develop a relationship with the Lord and how to call on His Name. A Godly fear not a fleshed out fear that's really being taught.
      I understand and always knew what the true meaning of religion is according to the Bible and I don't like how it's misused, HOWEVER I've learned to listen and take the correct contextual meaning of what an individual is saying. In this case Tye is not talking about the biblical meaning of religion but the modern usage, which translates to “legalism.” He even said legalism after religion at one point. In this context yes legalism is killing the church and has taken over the modern church in a new way.
      I saw no problems with what he said and to be honest the modern church is apart of the great falling away that's occurring as we speak, which is biblical. Church attendance and more importantly faith, belief, and profession is falling away faster than people accepting Jesus Christ. While 100M Christians will be added into the body in America over the next 10 years 60M Believers will loose faith and walk away. This is not good at all. We only have the current state of affairs in the “church system” to blame for this.

  • @maggietruth
    @maggietruth 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I grew up as a christian daughter of a pastor. I “rebelled” against my parents and God. I ended up pregnant at 17years old. That was not my church’s fault, not my parents fault, not God’s fault. It was my own sinful nature that choice to fall for temptation. It was my choice to not believe the Bible as truth! But thank God almighty! What the Devil thought would destroy me, through my repentance and being reborn ( new mind, new heart centered in Christ ) God has kept me married to the same man I became pregnant from ( we got married in our early 20’s) we have a beautiful family and a powerful testimony! God keeping power of his children!
    Religion is thinking just because you praise God with your mouth you are Christian. Relationship is realizing it’s not you who lives but Jesus, the Spirit of God dwelling in us, the Holy Spirit guiding your life.
    It’s sad people who come from church background want to blame the church for their sins, choices, “rebellion”. The church does not have to be changed. It’s the people that need to actually believe what the Bible say, and change their hearts.
    Great video! God bless!

    • @dawnyd6282
      @dawnyd6282 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What Tye is saying relates to how people are taught in church. Worldly fear mongering isn't it. I'm not speaking to your church but there are a lot of churches that teach fear and not a Godly relationship. It's very similar to what the Jewish people do with their hedge of protection laws that are not God ordained. Moses came down off the mountain with two tablets and ten commandments but somehow the Jewish people have over 600 laws they have to abide by in order to be in right standing with God. It's the man-made institute of regulations that's causing this rebellion people are experiencing.
      Teach people the real laws and the love and compassion the real fear of God which leads to wisdom. I too have seen so many PKs go buck wild in college until I learned they lived extremely sheltered lives. Through the grace of God a majority have repented and got right with the Lord but it didn't even have to come to that if they were taught right. Again I'm not saying this is your testimony because clearly we do have parents and churches that do right and there’s a prodigal child. In today's church system unfortunately it's not the case and we know Bev many are not coming back. The Bible says when we raise them RIGHT in the Lord they will come back. It's a lot of bad teaching and theology going on unfortunately and that's whack.

      Don't look up to "man" brother because man will always disappoint. But Jesus never will. Jesus was a perfect example of how to be while in the flesh on earth. Man will betray and disappoint. We have to be discerning of everybody and the music we choose to listen to. The Gospel music is becoming more and more secular and has nothing to do with God at all. Just an upbeat rhythm and the mention of God once or twice and they call that Gospel. Some Gospel music never mentions God just says things like "him" or "he" be careful because from what I heard the devil also has Gospel music in the works just like rap and other secular titles. That explains everything going more secular and the artist saying church is "wack" maybe because they made deals 😞 who knows....just protect your heart and spirit.

Not only that but he is using the “religion” term in a modern day usage not the biblical. For me it gets on my nerves lol but I understand when they give context, so I know what point of view they are coming from. In this case it's called “legalism,” which Tye actually said a few times after using religion. So, there should've never been any confusion to what he meant. Yes, legalism has been a tool to kill the church from the inside out…its how Israel missed the mark when Jesus came on the scene.

    In a way I can agree with Tye . I grew up in a very strict legalism ministry back in the past. So I can kind of agree with what he's talking about to a certain extent. I don't agree with people having freedom to live how they want in sin. But there are a lot of things when I was coming from experience that I witnessed. there were a lot of man-made opinionated things that they told us that we couldn't do. Couldn't wear the color red, We couldn't even wear a pair of sandals on our feet. We weren't allowed to wear jewelry, We couldn't wear box braids, weave , wedge heels , and weren't allowed to take our children to Chuck-E-Cheese. Some didn't allow women to preach the word . Now I'm not saying that we as saints of God have the freedom to sin because the Bible lets us know that sin will separate us from God and it stinks in his nostrils. But we need to define the difference between sin or something that man made up . Just like how the Pharisees had a lot of rules that they made up and Jesus himself checked them for it. I don't agree with Tye saying that the church is wack. Because the Bible says up on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hail should not prevail against it. It's not the church that's whack it's some people that are in the church that have issues. That's what the problem is. People with their mean, controlling , prideful , narcissistic ways . Like I said I don't agree with sin we're supposed to love what he loves and hate what he hates but I cannot get with the narcissistic controlling ways. Because there's also a scripture where it says not to be Lords over God's people. A prime example look at Jim Jones , with his narcissistic ways caused 900 people's deaths. Yes we are to obey leadership and obey our pastors but they are not God and we cannot worship man . Neither should someone in a high position use their authority to control people We need to rightly divide this thing. That's why we need a pastor like the Bible says one that is after God's own heart. One that will not tolerate sin that will cry loud against sin and spare not but at the same time will not use their authority to abuse people .

    • @MichaelHines-sl3tx
      @MichaelHines-sl3tx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sin is not the only thing he told us to stay away from tho. He said lay aside every weight and the sin that does so easily beset us.
      The bible does discuss jewelry in both old and new testament. We have to remember that Hollywood is teaching a lot of fads etc. And the church if not consecrated ends up adopting ideas and methods from Hollywood.
      This is why you do not see the gifts of the Spirit even in many so called Pentecostal churches.

    • @MichaelHines-sl3tx
      @MichaelHines-sl3tx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I am just sharing a few things. We also have to make sure we are spending ample amounts of time in Prayer , fasting, and the Word.
      Many times the older saints saw things in the Spirit. And they were trying to warn us. For example they taught against television;
      What is on tv today? The rap videos which teach the children to be thugs and how to kill. Its not just the radio because the kids would not know what image to pattern themselves after. But notice they adopt the hair styles, dropping the pants to show boxers, and making videos pointing guns just like their favorite rap stars.
      Also it is becoming harder and harder to watch tv without seeing two men with each other in the commercials. We were out eating one day and my wife happenned to see two men kissing on one of the many screens. We were so thankful our kids did not see that screen.
      So tv used to not be like that. But the devil has a long range goal. He has to get a person hooked first then he can bring his agenda into play and they are so hooked they struggle to get away from it.
      So many holiness churches spend wayyyyyyyy more time on tv screens and internet than in the bible and prayer. Some cant even fast because they have to watch their favorite show every day.
      The old saints saw this day coming thru the Spirit. Its just like Red. Back in the day the prostitutes wore the red to identify themselves as such. In our city their was a red light district.
      We have to see it for what it was. The elders and mothers were trying to keep the people saved, they loved us , and if we are not careful we miss the point of what they were trying to do.

Before that, he said that people become pastors to elevate themselves, not to serve the people. Furthermore, the institution of church rely so much on keeping with traditions, rather than winning souls and building disciples. But, there are some good churches that do the latter. It may have been misconstrued because this was said on a secular platform. That’s why I wish Tye had worded it differently. But, I do agree that the Church (as an institution) needs an overhaul.

    Corey You are being so deceitful.
    Ty said that church was whack because of what the churches becoming. He didn’t like the swag surfing in church. The antics of the church’s is what he was referring to.
    Yet Corey would rather cherry pick statements from Ty to boost his own agenda .
    I appreciate brother Corey ; but this was despicable and taking way out of context.
    I challenge you all to watch the interview for yourself and then look at brother Corey’s comments.

    I felt like this particular one he was expressing how his upbringing in the strict spiritual home has affected his life. Because it is real. I've seen it. His just happens to be magnified Spot light big artist etc. It doesn't happen to everyone but it does happen. Up until 3:30 I knew exactly what he was talking about. However after 3:30 those are reflections of what he has not been able to deal with. On Repeat.... Some are fortunate enough to have gotten away in time or received Godly counsel which corrected many things. But some others are not so fortunate. Pride and hurt seem to run together. Because of a certain status some are allowed to waddle in the past which creates a sin scene in the present and future, as they are providing us a service. When his music had our heads banging and tip tapping, he was going through the same struggles then. How careful did you listen to the music? He has actually been telling it all along. We just didn't want to see it. Now he says it. Have you ever been hurt or injured to the point where it doesn't matter what anyone says. You just want to hear what you want to hear and nothing else? Since God has not thrown any of us away there is still hope! lastly musical geniuses are sort of.............. out there! Father help us all.

    I'm glad you pointed out James chapter 1:26. That was possibly the only time in the Bible that the Word religion is mentioned. But if you look closely it's used as a tongue and cheek statement. James used the statement Pure Religion because so many people was using the term religion at the time. As if to say "Let me show you what religion truly is." Religion is what we express our faith through but what we follow is a faith in the person of Jesus Christ. Do we do the ordinances , yes, Jesus said Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not what I say. It is a help to bring order and is an idenfier to those who are in the body, However, it is not an ultimate yardstick to those who we identified as saved. How long your dress is, why are you wearing braids, you can't chew gum in church, yes these things should be checked but as Ephesians 2:9 says we are saved by faith and not by works. Of course this is dealing with faith but our outward expressions of fidelity as much as we keep in line with them will never be a measuring stick when the spirit of God is moving us from one place to another.
    The church is an assembly not a building. It's a corporate body. A living organism. When we try to regulate it with man made rules that are uninspired by the Word of God, then it becomes something that does not joy in it but ask the question "Why am I even in this? This is dumb!" and I join the Nation Of Islam or become a Buddist. No dancing, no expressions like in great art like Graffiti art or just expressions of art, just rules about what and what you cannot do. Not to say there are not great artist and dancers and they do it for God's glory but there should be more expression of God's glory in the Body of Christ to show his glory. I remember when I first got saved I was accused of cursing and I know I didn't! Just rules and no room for expression as long as it's in the decency of God. Everyone is looking the same. So I understand his frustration. Even though the true church is not like that at all.
    May God bless you totally today.

    The Church is wack, but so are these so-called Gospel artists. Gospel music is not run by us, but we put out the music. The fact that the Black Church doesn't run the Gospel music industry says a lot about the Black Church. We are the most gifted people on this earth and some other group controls our artists. But that goes back to the Church itself. If your religion doesn't give you any power what good is it. Black folks are so caught up in this Christianity but control nothing in their own community. There's a Church every ten feet in our community but everyone else controls us like a tool. Closed down all these Holes-in-the-wall storefront Churches and rebuilt our collective mind. If a so-called Pastor doesn't have an education behind him, he can't be a pastor. We must demand more outta these guys besides them telling us they were called by God, even the Devil can tell you that, and in some case, that is what it is
