Hello Anant, thannk you so much for such a nice compliment. I really do appreciate it. And, no I have not covered "In My Life,' but I will certainly look into it. Have a beautiful day.
Thank yo so very much for your nice complliment. My best wishes to the good people of Spain. All nationalities around the world love music. I keep us all as loving brothers of what is good.
🎉🎉🎉 Calm music helps me at 70 years old to remember both my Russian childhood and America. I remember in the 1960-1970s. As a child, I was amazed by the huge American family car at the dacha of the American embassy near my city. My friends and I would ride our bikes specifically to look at this Ford Country Square with brown inserts on the sides of the body. There was also a passenger car with a wooden body made of boards, very unusual. The dacha of the American embassy was located on the bank of the Klyazma River in a pine forest. History. In 1934, dachas with access to the Klyazma River (Moscow Region) were built for the employees of the American embassy. Every year on US Independence Day, the Star-Spangled Banner was raised, guests arrived, a brass band played. These dachas were guarded by marines. The dachas were wooden and existed until the 1980s, until they collapsed and were abandoned by the embassy employees.
Vald, I am glad you found the music calming and I so much appreciated the reflection on your childhood. As to your description of the interesting American automobile with the "wooden sides" that is exactly the kind of car that my father had when I was a child. We had a big family. I had seven sisters and we all crammed into that car. Many blessings to you, Vlad, and your family. Thanks
I'm a huge Bob Dylan fan, Mike. I have more then 30 of his albums on CD, including "Freewheelin.' " I think I sing more than 50 of his songs -- he has certainly been a prolific and brilliant writer! Yes, this is a much covered song, but there is always room for another good cover! Nice one, my friend!
Hi Robert, wow, you do have alot of Dylan albums, I have only a few. I have always been a fan but have never really delved into all of his recordings. I think I am going do do that. I check out your covers right now and see what you have posted for Dylan.
@Dr.DaveRobbo2407 thank you David for listening to my cover and for taking a moment to comment. I appreciate it very much. I also just subscribed to your channel and have been listening to your music. WOw, you are very fresh and enjoyable. I am so impressed that you have to 32,000 subscribers. How can anyone do that? I've been doing this for 3 years and have just 700. Have a beautiful day and I'm glad that I discovered your Channel
@@mikebrookbankguitarvocals7322 Thanks Mike, it helps to upgrade to Premium if you want to attract more followers. It's also possible to promote some songs that you really like (and see how many other people agree). [As a TH-cam premium member they give you that option. which helps to build your audience]. Best wishes 🙏
Hello Gavin, I just listened to your comment about why you are not famous on youtube. I agree with everything that you said. I also just listened to your cover of Glen Campbell's gentle on my mind. Very good! I've also just subscribed to your Channel and look forward to your future covers. Your channel is unique and I like the way you carry on interesting conversations about various things. I've been listening for quite a while this morning. I also would like to know your thoughts on why so many individuals who post on TH-cam get thousands of subscriptions with very little content I have always had a problem boosting my subscriptions even though I have a lot of content? Anyway it is so nice making your acquaintance, two music lovers listening to each other from across the sea. Have a very nice day
@@mikebrookbankguitarvocals7322 Nice to meet you too, I think it's a bit of a mystery why some get so many subscribers with so little content. some say you need to be controversial and that you only need one video to get caught by the algorithm. I have only recently started posting regularly so fingers crossed my channel will start to grow. Best Wishes from Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands, have a great day and thanks for listening to my tracks 🙂
Hello dear friend. Great cover of this wonderful song: Well done 👏. Big Like👍. Mike, if you find 5 minutes, I would like to share this with you: After my birth my mother became very sick, and spent many years of her life in hospitals: anyway, me and my brother ended up in a big orphenage. Let's say that my chilwood was not simple: and in this situation , in time of loneliness music can be like a friend...it gives you something. First we where in dormitories ( around 16 per room), and later, whenI was 14 we where 4 by room. Hawing almost no money to buy records we just listen to music avalable around us. In my room, how lucky, one of my friend had a small music pickup whith a few records. One day, after school I came into the room and saw a new album next to his bed. It was a man walking with a girl in the snow, somewhere in a city. I put on the record and started to listen to it. At that time I did not even speak english, maybe just a few words... the first song was 'Blowing in the wind' and the second ' Girlf from the north country: and this song touched me so much, it was like a shock: I remember I thought ' ok, THIS is the 'sound' I love, the music I like. I was on the bed, listening to all the songs while looking at the picture I sunddenly found very warm. The voice, the guitar, the harmonica....and from that moment I knew I want to learn the guiar ( even if I had no idea how I can find one). At the end I read, for the first time, the name 'Bob Dylan'. And this was the day Bob and his music entered my life....I can even say it changed my life. Dylan is no God for me ( there is only one God), and I did not have posters of him on the wall and so on. But I think that without this album and what I felt coming out of it, my life would just not have been the same. Sorry I was a little long...but I know you are a kind man and you surely understand. Have a great weekend🙂 Here....for me, around 50 years ago...this song, this picture: for always in my heart: th-cam.com/video/JncbFS5ek74/w-d-xo.html
Good morning Joseph. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thoughts with me. I so much enjoyed the gift of hearing your childhood recollections. It is so heartwarming to hear about such a formative time in your life that made a real and lasting impact - centered around the joy of music. Bob Dylan was such impact on many of us. For me, I remember so well the impact his "Highway 61 Revisted" Album had on me. My girlfriend and I saw Dylan in concert right before I went in the Army in January of 1966. It was my first big taste of his "electrified" music. It blew me away. She bought me the album at the concert and I still have it to this day with thoughtful sentiments penned on the record liner from her. My dad did not like the album at all until in a moment of nostalgia - missing me while in Vietnam - set down and closely listend to it in my honor while I was gone. He wrote me a letter and said, "Mike, I really like 'It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry." Every time I hear that song it reminds of the lovely letter he wrote signing off by saying "Affectionately Dad." He had trouble (men of his generation) saying "Love." But I know he loved me and I treasure that memory. Music, it means so much, as you say, to all of us. I love the guitar, and while only knowing the basics, I just love to sing and play. Your long distance friendship is very much appreciataed Joseph and with that said I'm pleased, with your memorable recollections in mind, take another stab at covering "Girl From The North Country." I will post it shortly. And, Joseph, may you and your family have a joyful Christmas Season coming up soon.
