Hey Jesse, I cried when I saw you sing this last week, I listen to this song on my sleep playlist, I have to have music, I would rather sing than eat, music feeds my soul. Thank you so much, for being you, I have already prayed thanks, and tears are streaming down my cheeks again. You make me remember and feel, thank you, you aren’t wasting my precious time…
Hey Jesse, I'm not real sure if you read these but I came across your videos the other day and you remind me a lot of a good friend who passed away last fall, your voice, your ideals, even your physical appearance to some extent, though you two do still look different. Anyways, I just know he would love what you're doing and I miss him a lot, I wish I could send these to him. Instead I just listen and find myself sobbing. Thank you for what you're doing, and for making me feel something.
I saw Bob Dylan live once, this was in the early 00's. He is an icon that spoke for older generations, whose talent and wisdom is still recognised. You, Jesse, with these poiniont songs you have written, have the potential to speak for our generation. I tip my hat to you and hope to someday to see you live with my children.
This Jesse, is perfection! 60 years onwards from it’s original release this tune and these words require to be expressed again and that’s why today this is better than Dylan’s original. You’re reflecting timelessness in our time. It really resonates. Thank you!
Love how he looks around, looks up, looks side to side, poker face... all the while the guitar pickin' is flowin' like a waterfall, backed with a confident smooth voice somehow with an edge. Hypnotic. All his stuff. Been binge listening.
Just heard of you today. I can’t stop. Then this one came on and you took me way back to s special time in my life. Thank you! Keep it up kid! Your on the right track I appreciate every song I’ve heard so far.
This is so perfect, it made me cry, I was just 5 or 6 when this was a huge hit for Dylan. I can’t believe I have tickets to see Bob this summer. I am West Coast, I hope Jesse would tour out here.❤❤❤
I love Bob Dylan s music and I love yours. You are a great torch carrier. It's amazing how timeless a song can be. I imagine the more you play that song , hundreds of times on the road to thousands of people, it could change you ? Keep in exploring, and finding who you are ? Thanks for the music !
I wanna be him so bad, in the nature, playing that beautiful acoustic guitar, singing beautiful songs, that’s pure bliss and happiness man I’m so envious im doing this one day
I love Bob Dylan so much, growing up my dad was a massive fan of his so I heard a ton of his music through the years. Jesse obviously sounds a lot like Dylan so it's awesome to see him doing these covers!
This is really great. Thanks so much. You introduced us to a Blue Grass pace by picking up the beat. Bob Dylan was a distinctive poet. It is fun for me to think I live in the same county Bob Dylan grew up in. He was born at the old St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth which will soon be torn down, and subsequently he moved from Duluth to Hibbing when he was approximately six years old. I believe he left Hibbing following his high school graduation.
As a singer/songwriter if I got 80k views on anything I’d posted I’d feel as if I’d went viral. As far as I’m concerned this gives me a slight glimmer of hope. However, Jesse had already been accepted into the music business to some extent before doing these solo acoustic videos so that’s something to consider. It’s hard out here!
@@BenSchillaci I’ve thrown and had more people show up to my shows to you online, storytelling is truly different, I would say for centuries now or even thousands of years people haven’t gotten the recognition they deserve until after they might’ve passed. i have heard most covers of this song that have been posted to youtube. this is one of the few where im shocked by the amazing faithfulness and creativity when playing the tune. amazing work.
phucken better than the original mate. Thanks man. Keep em coming and don't let anyone discourage you from writing your way. Fat is truth and great piece of art brother. peace out from Melbourne Australia.
This is so earnest. I just love it. And your voice bears an uncanny similarity to Dylan's, without sounding like an impersonation or a duplication. This was SO good!
You got my attention Jess I'm 62 it's good it's still fresh and vibrant.❤ Thank you my friend for keeping the music alive🤟🙋 from oldsmar Florida One Love 🙋
Dang, you have have the perfect voice for this cover and you killed it with the vocal timings. Great picking as well. Best cover I've heard. Glad you found your niche, brother. Your solo stuff is your greatest work yet.
This is too good! Honestly this is the first ever cover of a Dylan song that i listened to while actually enjoying it. And this i really did. And now i want more. And I was really digging your originals too, you know! But after hearing this one, just how will i recover, i just dont know. From now on I will eternally crave more Dylan covers from Jesse Wells ( on top of the other ones). Hooked.
I created a playlist because I love his music so much. Just his folk music and covers. I didn't add his grunge era. Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie and others are my favorite. I was born in '67. ❤ th-cam.com/play/PL1A8hzZDC_NELmTXHFx3uQjKq7D5F1pkj.html&si=aCqS3ivkK5Ct5kTK
Amazing dude! Your voice is spot on as usual, I was suprprised not to see the harmonica at first, but when I saw you noodling in the breaks I understood why. Impressive guitarrist as well my friend!
I actually prefer Jesse's cover to the original, his playing is fantastic (Dylan's vocals take precedence over the guitar)and his singing is so heartfelt.Obviously he had some great material to work with,Bob Dylan!I really enjoyed this song,Jesse!Thank you!
Just ran across your channel and thought, this guy reminds me of Dylan. Then l saw this one while listenin through. Around 71-72 l was the only person I knew that had the Freewheelin album. Most every time friends would stop by they always wanted me to give it a spin. Thanks for the smokey memories Jesse. Some humorous and thought provoking tunes here. You got my vote dude.
wow, I'm going to watch this over and over just to watch your right hand :) I originally learned this song in my Travis-picking years, but I can't do it anymore so I switched to a over-simplistic strumming version. You've managed to play a really wonderful in between. Thanks for posting!

You were a new musician to me 2 days ago. Now I’ve seen 10 of your videos. Lovely folk guitar just humming along, sweet rasp and then wow! A lower register like honey. Nice to know you. 😊
He has older stuff on another channel called WELLES I think, it's not folk guitar, it sounds like 90s alternative if you are into that, he used to be a rocker
The first cover of this song I ever heard was by a guy who you remind me-striking how much you look like him, blows my mind! This is quite a surreal world we live. Love this song so much-summary of his and my relationship-wounding kept him from being able to receive the love I had, so I'm sure it felt I was after his soul. Anyhow...best cover I've heard since. Thank you for sharing, so happy to have stumbled onto you, your extraordinary talent of originals, and covers 💜
Free and easy finger picking and free and easy vocals. Absolutely awesome rendition of a classic. Nice job bud!!! I used to sing and play this back in the day. Arlo Guthrie did a great rendition of this Dylan tune as well. I'd rate you better than Guthrie and defiantly better than me .

One of may favorite Dylan tunes. This young man has it going on!

The song that young men don't understand, but older men feel in their bones. If only all of us could be as clear as Bob is with our women.
But it wouldn't matter anyways. If they could be self conscious and empathetic, we wouldn't be trying to have that conversation in the first place.
Love watching this young guy. It would be fun to see him live. Thanks

It's almost like if John Prine and Bob Dylan had a baby that possessed the body of a Young John Fogerty. Beautiful Rendition
