- Hello everyone, and welcome back to another video! For this year's #MARCHintosh2024 I will be installing the latest version of OpenBSD on my PowerMac G4. However, thanks to me not reading the manual, everything went wrong.

I recently installed, like in the last 2 weeks, OpenBSD on a Mac mini G4.
It went fine for me.
However I wanted to use that Mac mini G4 as a headless server and there weren’t really any servers that I wanted that would run under OpenBSD in the PowerPC 32-bit repository.
So I installed Debian Trixie/Sid and it works great.
Will be configuring MBSE BBS software on it soon and a some sort of IRC server.
Had a couple of issues on Debian but I got around them.
I used to install OpenBSD 7 on iBook G3, the video driver for Radeon does not work and always ends up with striped screen; I has to disable the video driver in kernel in order to see the command line; I thought the ATI chip should be more compatible than nVidia in BSD/Linux world, apparently it was not true for the ibook in my hand.
I want to run OpenBSD on my quicksilver G4 but it freezes randomly during the install process, no idea why.. It runs just fine in Mac OS X and OS 9..
Do you know about Action Retros youtube channel? He mad a video of instalation of OpenBSD on a G3
Result !!
Why did you choose a penguin as your icon?
The Linux logo is a penguin, I chose this paperclip because I used to have actual paperclips that looked like this.
