I was fortunate enough to see his last live concert in Indianapolis Indiana at the Market Square Arena. His voice and performance were fantastic. Great as always. No one will ever have the voice he had or put on a performance like he did every time. R.I.P.

Wow! Missed it. I was living on Oahu next to the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center) where Elvis filmed Blue Hawaii. I used to live with my grandparents downtown Honolulu, but then moved to the country to live with my uncle and aunty and my first cousins. It was there at Laie, where my cousins and I heard over the radio about his passing. If this video was done in March of '77, it was only 5 months later when he passed in August of '77. That's too soon and sudden. I remembered that day like yesterday. I was just a teenager and had just got home from school that day when we heard it over the radio. My cousin and I just dropped our heads in silence as if our "best" friend had passed away. We sat our school books down and sat on the floor in our room, with our ears glued to the radio and sobbed. No words, just sobbing in silence. I guess you could say we sobbed the entire afternoon away. We had a volleyball game that afternoon and was supposed to go to the beach after that, but it all went out the window when we heard of Elvis's passing. It was just too much for us to bare. We all loved Elvis and his music, his voice, his charisma and talent. There was just something "AWESTRUCK" about him that was different from other entertainers. SOMETHING that will always be with us within our hearts. 💜💞💗He looks so HAPPY and healthy here! So 5 months later and he's gone, just didn't make any sense to me.

He made his peace with God, he went back to his faith and now he is singing with the angels. I thank God for his life while on earth. He made many people happy. Jesus gave him the strength to bear every ounce of his life and then took him home. He is there waiting with the Lord Jesus, for the trumpet call where believers of Jesus will be called in the rapture. He is cheering us on.

we moved to California from Detroit in 1977 I was in the pool when I heard my mom screaming and crying shouting out Elvis died,I started crying too I was 16 years old, I will never forget that day RIP!

Wow! Missed it. I was living on Oahu next to the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center) where Elvis filmed Blue Hawaii. I used to live with my grandparents downtown Honolulu, but then moved to the country to live with my uncle and aunty and my first cousins. It was there at Laie, where my cousins and I heard over the radio about his passing. If this video was done in March of '77, it was only 5 months later when he passed in August of '77. That's too soon and sudden. I remembered that day like yesterday. I was just a teenager and had just got home from school that day when we heard it over the radio. My cousin and I just dropped our heads in silence as if our "best" friend had passed away. We sat our school books down and sat on the floor in our room, with our ears glued to the radio and sobbed. No words, just sobbing in silence. I guess you could say we sobbed the entire afternoon away. We had a volleyball game that afternoon and was supposed to go to the beach after that, but it all went out the window when we heard of Elvis's passing. It was just too much for us to bare. We all loved Elvis and his music, his voice, his charisma and talent. There was just something "AWESTRUCK" about him that was different from other entertainers. SOMETHING that will always be with us within our hearts. 💜💞💗He looks so HAPPY and healthy here! So 5 months later and he's gone, just didn't make any sense to me.

Elvis has moved on to a better world. Away from his depression, his discomforts and whatever he had to put up with.
He made his peace with God, he went back to his faith and now he is singing with the angels.
I thank God for his life while on earth. He made many people happy.
Jesus gave him the strength to bear every ounce of his life and then took him home.
He is there waiting with the Lord Jesus, for the trumpet call where believers of Jesus will be called in the rapture.
He is cheering us on.

I was devastated by his death & crushed that he was gone 😢 ... I am almost 67 & I've luvd Elvis since I was about 10 or 11 ... that's a long time ... I still have my ticket to the show that was scheduled here in my home town for the week after he died (I had seen him once live, but he was gone before I could ever see him again 😢) ......
The music of Elvis will live on forever & so will his legacy ... he definitely lives on forever in our hearts !!

I love him, he got together with 30 of his closest friends for this vacation I think as a farewell and thank you for being a part of his life, that's where he wanted to retire to but never happened, he's gone but never for gotten, he is loved by so many, and to me he's still here, I feel his presents still here on earth,I love you sweetheart

Monte and he could not say Elvis Presley so he used to say Elva Pesly because he was not quite there and his fav song was Teddy Bear . By the way my Mom passed away on the 16 th of August 1984/. I was just getting ready to watch an EP special on TV in Melbourne when my cousin Dale came home and gave me the sad news my mum Florence had passed away in Madras India on the 16 th .So its a special day but sad on two counts for me . RIP Mum too .

Elvis was a man who hide alot of heartache inside himself. Music was a saving Grace for him. It's a known fact, he loved having people he felt good around.....hanging around all the time. His sense of humor was well known. I loved Elvis very much....then ,now and forever!!!

Your math and a few other facts are off...
During the Korean War, the draft applied to men between 18 and a half up to 35. But the war was declared over in July 1953, literally weeks after Elvis past age 18 and a half. He only would’ve been likely to get drafted had the conflict lasted longer.
By the time Elvis entered the Army (voluntarily) in 1958, the U.S. wasn’t at war anywhere. And that remained the case the whole 2 years he served based in Germany.
