I think of Elvis Presley, "The King" and then think of today's singers, and there is absolutely no comparison in talent, heart, and the material. Huge difference. The ultimate voice.
Elvis and Michael Jackson sang straight from their souls/heart. Each with a spectacular unique voice and they really loved their mothers in addition to being very loving/generous with their things especially to their children whom they dearly loved 💕
My Daddy’s favorite song. He sang this at all family functions people thought he was hired. Today my Dad would’ve been 83. He passed October of 2019. I miss him terribly sure life of the party This song was played even at the church at his funeral
I can’t fathom that Elvis was real. The man gave guns and cars as gifts, met the President, had an insane diet, stared in movies and left a legacy even in death. The King wasn’t a nickname it was a lifestyle for him a true American rock star
Hola & Buenos to all you hombre's & amigo's out there tonight, every post that I read is in support of Elvis Presley, I cannot dispute anything that has been said, this man was phenomenal in almost everything that he did, my one & only criticism is that I wish that he & his minders had taken greater care of his health, & who knows, he may even have been with us today, now there's a thought, he would only be 85, there are still some about, Engelbert for example. It's a French song from Claude François called "Comme d'habitude". In English those words have been written on the music from the French singers in English who died on March 1978. It's knowned better in the English version thanks Frank Sinatra and Elvis

I was actually at that concert. My mother was a huge Elvis fan. We were on vacation in Hawaii in January of 1973 (Christmas gift to the family from my father) and my mother took me. Even though I was only 6 years old, I’ll never forget it.
My family chose Elvis' version of "My Way" to play at my dad's funeral, because the words summed up how Dad lived his life. It was just family members gathered together and some of my dad's favourite songs were played. My Grandma and Grandad have been Elvis' biggest fans since long before i was born, so I've grown up with knowing his music. But now, as a 34yr old with heartbreak behind me, and after seeing the movie and learning more about his story, this song hits deep and makes me so emotional- it really feels like he's singing from the heart. As i grew up i found i appreciated all of his songs and the lyrics so much more now that I understand them. He was an incredible man and I feel sad that sometimes it wasn't all his way, some of the things he did he didn't have a choice in doing them. All of his songs are masterpieces and his legacy and music will never die. R.I.P Elvis x

i can't help it but I still have a soft spot in my heart for the guy. I grew up with him. And I can still see my mother, waking me up one morning, with tears in her eyes, saying: "Elvis is dead." Of course he had his faults (like we all have), but for me he is truly one of the few who, when he sings, you don't only hear it with your ears, but also feel it in your heart .

@@AB_422 Not exactly lol the lyrics in the English version were written by Paul Anka and are "unrelated to the original French Version". HOWEVER, the music IS set to the original. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Way
@@kevinkelly5569 we already know that which in this exact case isn't relevant ever since when we say "song" most people think about the music itself, the melody, not the lyrics. Anyways, Paul anka wrote the English version thanks to Claude François creating the song in the first place. BTW Comme D'habitude means "as usual" or "like always" where Claude François explains his lifestyle kind of, his regrets also.. So my way isn't that different when it comes to It's meaning. It's just more individual. All that being said, this is neither Sinatra's, Paul Anka's or Elvis song according to what Loraine wrote she probably didn't know abt Claude François who created this masterpiece.
It doesn't get better than this. His heart and soul is in this ,as he did with all his records , nobody will be like him . He's singing about his life, thank you elvis 🙏 when he lost priscilla and his daughter that was the beginning of the end. All the riches and anything he wanted didn't matter he really wanted them both back. Every song he recorded after they split I think he was singing about them. I believe in the end he gave up because he wasn't happy and never would be without them. We were so privileged to be around when he was. He really is a LEGEND
In his last 2 years, still performing in Vegas, these songs along with so many of his most iconic songs, he would intentionally butcher them on stage....he was truly done with the "Colonel" as well as Vegas.
I’m nearly in tears listening to this in 2024. I remember that event was televised all around world. It was like bigger than the pope. No wonder he is called the King of Rock with a voice like that.
I'm 60 years old and I know all musical styles. I've been listening to Elvis since I was 10 years old. I watched the live concert of Elvis in Hawaii 1973. I appreciate any kind of good music. I also know all the songs by Johnny Cash and June Carter (Great). However, Elvis remains the greatest musician and entertainer of all time. He implied all the power of his soul in all his songs. One could almost say: he gave away his whole heart to his listeners. So, in that way, this is definitely unique.

The way he delivers that last verse. Nobody puts heart and soul into singing like that today. And if there is anyone good, they are never brought into the spotlight because rap and other junk is mainstream. I’m 27 and I wish i was born in a better era of music. I hope Elvis is never forgotten. The King.
I think it’s just a matter of looking for the good stuff because the 2010s was jammed pack of insanely good music and in my opinion it’s the best decade for music (obviously not mainstream music, but individual albums, etc). And a lot of people do definitely put emotion into their singing again, you just haven’t discovered those artists yet. Plus, Elvis was definitely just singing along to a song his manager threw at him, he wasn’t involved in the actual creation of the song. Creators today are actively interacting with their music and pouring emotion into it.
Louise Hazeldine that is for real. Your comment makes no sense. He didn’t use autotune because it didn’t existed, he didn’t lip synced because it didn’t exist yet either and he didn’t need it. Actually plenty of artists today doesn’t use Autotune neither lip sync. Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Adele, Bruno Mars & the list goes on, so what’s your point? And he had no competition, on his genre of music, for sure. That in its nature is something not many could achieve in HIS era, and in this era either... But the real meaning of your comment is probably that “artists these days suck” which is stupid because in the 70’s, 60’s and all the way back there were plenty of artists who sucked, but you know why nobody knows them? Because they’ve been forgotten as time passes and in those times with lack of technology and social media it was almost impossible to take off a music career. In 50 years from now all those artists which you consider to suck will be as forgotten as dust and people will just recall the legends just like it have been happening in the past decades.
His incredible I must say..... I hope now you all can agree that elvis presley is among the greatest musician of all time.... what's your favourite elvis presley song?

I think of Elvis Presley, "The King" and then think of today's singers, and there is absolutely no comparison in talent, heart, and the material. Huge difference. The ultimate voice.
Laine hardy is really good.
Guess I should find out who Laine Hardy is and give a listening to.

The unique.
Also inspired many to sing, to play, to form a band, to express themselves. The music in the 20th century wouldn't be the same without Elvis Presley.
TJR Canary Islands.

Elvis re-invented "My Way" not only by his incredible singing skills, but also by turning it to the story of his very own life. Miss him vey much!
My family chose Elvis' version of "My Way" to play at my dad's funeral, because the words summed up how Dad lived his life. This is Claude François song named Comme d'habitude

There's plenty of good modern music
Hard to say who sang it better elvis or Sinatra. Love them both!
No autotune, no lip syncing. No competition.
Not many can say that these days.
Louise Hazeldine not many could say that in those days either so what’s up?
Toph Beifong is this for real or just for funny?
Louise Hazeldine this is the MAN!! Nobody ever can touch such a voice!! Thank you king!!
Toph Beifong are you done???
I’m 76 and still my favourite singer ❤
The King Was The Best Singer That Mankind Has Ever Had. REST IN PEACE "THE KING" 👑👑👑

The better voice of all times.
Even the great Pavaroti said that Elvis was the only one who had the best natural voice.
Not just a singer, but a master showman.
Ya
Frank Sinatra had the best version of "comme d'habitude" in english. Elvis is the second.
@@TechnicalMX Oh, please, you are out of your mind. Get the hell out of here and take Frank Sinatra with you.
Reminds me of George Floyd. Not just any man, but a hero. Whenever I feel sad, I also remind myself of King George’s brave life. If that isn’t a brave and powerful comment, then I don’t know what is.
