Been carrying the newest 18650 version (TA30C) for well over a year. Honestly, I just love the UI so much that I'm willing to overlook the greenish SST-40. Walking on low mode, just aim up the trees and momentary high to check for partially broken branches, low again quickly just by releasing. Night and day difference doing the same with Weltool (need to off then on again, and if I want low again, there's a long duration of no-light while I do the multi-tap). I think if either the Nextorch TA30C or the Fenix PD40R v3.0 did stepless 1~1000lm + no strobe, either of them could easily become the best emergency light for every household around the world cuz there ain't no literacy barrier involved in a rotary UI.
It does look like an excellent light. The only negative I come across with Nextorch is their customer service with those that have had issues. Not that I have any of their lights but just reading various reviews others have given. That aside, I agree with you, it has so much going for it.
Its an older version. The new TA30c is the newest and your reviewed it over a year ago. But this has an Osram Led and it has a much nicer cleaner tint. The new has a Luminus with a very greenish/yellow tint. THe UI is the best for a atctical light!
I like the rotary switch and from what ever mode you’re in you can hit the tail cap and be straight into high and strobe. Good idea.

TA30C is my fav tactical light right now. Good size, decent throw and brightness, all parts metal switch (love it)
