Im following what brooks do with interest Never even considered brooks shoe, last year they got my attention with hyperion- but couldn't make myself to buy it because it looked ugly AF - well basically it looked like all brooks shoes, yeah brooks its 2024 you know .... But this year picked up hyperion max 2 - oh boy looks like brooks is turning it ship in good direction - keep old brooks fan base happy but at the same time also give something that will bring new customers in Well done brooks - keep coming 🤜
I hv switched over to Brooks, for all my shoe rotations, this year. They are long lasting, uniquely stylish and have better performance to price ratio. This shoe looks gorgeous, so tempted! 😂
Hi Chris, another great review. I’m an adrenaline GTS runner, slightly heavy, would this be a good option or maybe not enough support for an over pronater. Just appreciate your opinion
Yeah, I'll take Superblast (1 or 2) all day long before I spend the same on Nitro EVA.... but it does look sharper than some of their other shoes. Great review... things are hopefully on the up at BROOKS.
Superblast hype is real lol it's good shoe - have 1 and 2 - basicly same shoe - but it seems in runners mind it become shoe to rule it all - guess asics marketing people need rise lol
I love this I'm a massive fan of the glycerin so hearing there bringing out a max excited me. Can't justify the money though. Until price comes down I'll grab another pair of shift 3 for £95
I'm a heavy overpronater, I normally wear Kayanos and currently running in the Tempus. I think you are one of the only shoe reviewers that also over pronates. What are your thoughts of this shoe as a stability platform?
What no 1980's 😂 Brooks are really getting it together. Looks a great shoe, be interesting to hear your thoughts when you've tried the new glide ride. Top review as per Mr F
Really looks good well done Brooks! Would be on my list if i hadnt bought the Puma Magmax; its the most comfortable shoe, soft springy, done tempo and easy.
Although the shoe is not for me, I'm glad that brooks is experimenting because they usually play it safe with their shoe line up. I currently own a brooks glycerin 21 and I'm enjoying it for my daily commute.
The brooks guy at the GNR shakeout run told me quite proudly they have a pebax midsole coming in the future too, when they do that I’ll probably use mostly brooks shoes. Currently use ghost max and Hyperion max 2 but go elsewhere for race shoes
I have been buying Brooks for years, love the brand. $200 (in the US) is expensive, they look worthwhile, what I don't understand is the lack of colors. Brooks tends to roll out colors at a slow pace, currently the pre-order page just went live and the color you showed in the video is the only color in men's, maybe they will release more shortly. I tend to do a lot of hiking and I often regret buying the lighter color of shoe, because dirt and other things leave marks on them. Brooks strangely seem to release the lighter colors first and darker later. Often you can't even buy an all black shoe without waiting a month, though my favorite brook's color scheme has been when they mix black and green. I get the marketing behind it, like hey you love this shoe but now it comes in a even more intriguing color, buy it again, but I imagine most people like myself buy once and then wait for another model the next year. Going to have to pass on this one till we get a color scheme I like, hopefully sooner than later.
I read a comment somewhere saying this is the Mercedes Benz S- Class of running shoes. I'm really considering these for long comfortable and steady runs when legs feel exhausted. I'm on my feet all days and they tend to be tired by the end of the week.
Brooks definitely in a right direction. A tuned version of the DNA Flash would surely be phenomenal as Brooks I think has already perfected doing uppers.
Brooks Glycerin is my go to shoe , never let me down yet , this seems like they have ripped everything up and completely started again so it will be interesting to see how it goes although the price is crazy
Great review. Question I am more a supinator need some stability like lateral flare side walls etc and not to soft heel and stiff forefoot will help. I looking for a recovery / daily. I was thinking about the hurricane 24, magmax what would you recommend or what are the major differents. I think this brooks will not suit me? I really like the brooks Hyperion max and my hoka Mach 6, tempus in my rotation. Hope you can give me a direction to look for in a recovery shoe
Resisting the max cushion daily trainer with everything I’ve got. Not sure why I’d spend this type of money when we have Novablast, Velocity Nitro, SL2, Mach 6 etc for £110-£130. I also picked up the Tempus for cheap and does a good job.
I am an overweight runner. So I'm not sure what to choose between these shoes and magmax. I like the design of this shoe better than the magmax. Should I choose this shoe or is the magmax a better choice for my knees?
I'm not a huge runner but I use new balance fresh foam 860 and like them. Mostly using a treadmill to light jogging. I also own brooks adrenaline gts and they are great shoes. Mostly using them for walking. Brooks has 12 in drop and new balance has 8 in drop. And both are more stable shoes. Would theese work beacuse they look awsome. And think that Brooks makes superb shoes. Don't need super much in stabilitt but i pronate some inwards.
I have the Glycerine 21’s and I like them, but $200 for this is nuts. They did a great job with the new Hyperion lineup, but I think they’re throwing stuff against the walls to see what sticks.
Random question: How would you say does the glycerin max compare to the Triumph 21? Not too fuzzed about the Triumph 22 so I'm wondering whether I should get the glycerin max or the triumph 21 on discount
Recently got the Triumph 22, and although it’s not going to blow the doors off, I do find it has a “not overly soft” midsole, so comparable to the glycerin? I did get the triumph for £124 though. With the glycerin at £180 I’d be more tempted to borrow £20 off a neighbour and go Superblast 2 (if you can get it that is)
Would these compere in anyway to the asics Superblast 2? Looking to get a pair but they keep selling out in my size 11.5 so would these be an alternative?
@@FordyRuns Awesome, thanks! I also mildly overpronate, and land mid to forefoot. I was looking for a long-run shoe that could hold my 90+kg body over 10 miles, lol. This feels like a promising contender.
At least Brooks will possibly come out with a wide option while ASICS Superblast and Puma Magmax only come in regular width. I know where I’ll spend my $
the ghost max is a daily trainer, the ghost is too firm and no good over 3 miles where the max is so much more versatile. This is a big cruiser and different
Too expensive. There also appears to be a trend of new shoes coming out in a max cushioned version with a high price. Not affordable to the everyday runner in my opinion, especially for what is just a daily trainer. For this money, it should be compared with the Superblast, and I think that is likely to affect sales for Brooks.

They are lovely wait for the new colours
It’s a miracle, 2 positive Brooks reviews in a row 😮
Think the last one was the Hyperion 2 which I was abit on the fence
I love the Glycerin, the Ghost Max, and Hyperion Max series. It’s a nice shoe but 200$ is a bit steep.
yep its pricey
You’ve run in it? How do you know it’s just nice and not special?
Hi Chris, another great review. I’m an adrenaline GTS runner, slightly heavy, would this be a good option or maybe not enough support for an over pronater. Just appreciate your opinion
Great looking shoe, can’t wait for other colorways in this shoe.
Yeah, I'll take Superblast (1 or 2) all day long before I spend the same on Nitro EVA.... but it does look sharper than some of their other shoes. Great review... things are hopefully on the up at BROOKS.
Yeah keep an eye on them
Superblast hype is real lol it's good shoe - have 1 and 2 - basicly same shoe - but it seems in runners mind it become shoe to rule it all - guess asics marketing people need rise lol
Fair play to Brooks, you've been a vocal critic of theirs for years but it always came from a good place. Seems they've finally listened.
They have mate fair play to them
Brooks is on 🔥. Have 250K in the Hyperion Max2 and it's a great addition to my rotation.
I just got my first pair of Brooks, the glycerin 20. I did a short run and a 2 hour run. Really liked them but they totally beat up my quads
Looks incredible, I can't believe it's a Brooks shoe!
I love this I'm a massive fan of the glycerin so hearing there bringing out a max excited me. Can't justify the money though. Until price comes down I'll grab another pair of shift 3 for £95
yep price is hight although get cheaper at start fitness using my code
Compare the Shift 3 to another shoe? I have the Triumph 20 and Wavesky 7 at the moment. I've heard the Shift is firm. ty
Thanks for the review! I’m sold and can’t wait to try them.
Hope you enjoy!
Haha I mentioned these shoes in the live last night, no wonder you didn't respond to my question about them! Man they look so beautiful 😮
yeah sorry i didnt want to do what others have done today and break embargo
@@FordyRuns oh 100% brother, I'm just happy that the shoe is real! From the moment I seen the leaks I've wanted a piece of that in my rotation!

Tell me about that Glyc. 21, 'cause I'm thinking about it. What do you compare it to? ty
Last Brooks I bought was the Glycerin 16, I think. Brick. went straight to the yardwork pile. Kinda want the Glycerin 21.
The brooks guy at the GNR shakeout run told me quite proudly they have a pebax midsole coming in the future too, when they do that I’ll probably use mostly brooks shoes. Currently use ghost max and Hyperion max 2 but go elsewhere for race shoes
It is they have it on their elites currently look at the midsole colours 👀
I'm waiting impatiently for that Glideride Max! 😂
I’m waiting on these from a retailer
@@FordyRuns They've released in the US as I got an email yesterday. No sign of them on the UK Asics site yet though 🤔
I wait for Nimbus max 😅😊
It’s been released in the US. I just received my pair a couple of days ago! 😊
@@FordyRuns Do you have a UK release date? Not much info online...
I appreciate the comparison to Puma's Nitro. That helps. Visually, the midsole reminded me of the Maxroad 6.
Good afternoon. Thanks for this information, Fordy. Like. Have a great day.
Thanks, you too!

No they have made it their widest shoe to create a relative stable ride
Thx, in that case I"ll give it a try.

Would you recommend this for a marathon at 9-10 min/mile pace?
Too heavy tbh
should i buy More V5 now or wait for this?
Obviously this one
Just pre ordered mine, nervous because they’re heavy compared to the superblast 2’s which I can’t get my friggin hands on to save my life

Best thing brooks did is to make it not look like a brooks shoe. What's the arch like as all brooks i have tried have bruised me in the arch?
Recently got the Triumph 22, and although it’s not going to blow the doors off, I do find it has a “not overly soft” midsole, so comparable to the glycerin?

Can you do a Brooks Max show comparison? Ghost Max 2, Glycerin Max 2, and Hyperion Max 2 are looking good. I have 2 of 3.

Will we get a GTS version or is it inherently stable enough that this isn't needed???
How would you compare the midsole the the Superblast 2 and the Skyflow?
Puma nitro
Books ain’t bricks anymore, innit?👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🔥🔥🔥
Correct
How do you think I’d get on with it Chris? Usually a glycerin gts or adrenaline gts runner.
You need guidance
@@FordyRunsyou said they were inherently stable in the video. That always makes me wonder.
I'm torn between this and the new balance 1080 v14 as a daily trainer - any ideas ??
1080v14 more versatile
It looks very stable at the forefoot, looks like it has a higher medial sidewall medial? Landing and toe off seems stable from the shots.
Also, the midsole to me looks like similar structure to Puma ForeverRun, maybe that’s why it feels stable, lol.
Very stable and I mildly pronate

The only shoe brand I can see not change in terms of advancing technology and following suit is Reebok.
They are behind
Could it knock the Asics Superblast from top spot ?
How does it compare to the More V5?
Morev5 video drops Saturday but it’s more a walking shoe, I like it don’t get me wrong
Glycerin Max, Hyperion Max 2 or Puma Magmax? Assuming Superblast will never be in stock in a 9.5.

the ghost max is a daily trainer, the ghost is too firm and no good over 3 miles where the max is so much more versatile. This is a big cruiser and different
Brooks keeps doing great things…and Nike is just going “meh”
