I have both and love both. Fully agree with Tom's assessment - after all, Tom is the proven expert on max cushioned shoes! Seriously, the MagMax is better at picking up the pace and is a bit lighter. The Glycerin Max seems to fit in between the MagMax and the More v5 - a little softer than the MagMax but a little livelier than the More v5.
I looked at, amd tried both. I really likes both. They are much the same. The Brooks feels a litle softer. They are both great, but the Puma was a lot cheaper here in Denmark. Puma 140 euro (on sale)and the Brooks was 210. So in the end the Puma was a no brainer to choose
Great review guys! Cool to see honest opinions; how Nick just didn’t get along with the Puma, how Tom has now come around to the Puma but thinks the Brooks are still a great easy day shoe, how Mike prefers the Puma because it provides a bit more pop and therefore versatility. Would love to try both these shoes one day! Just wondering, how would you guys compare the NB Balos to these two shoes? Seems like another good easy day option if you get along with the ride
Had to return my Mag Max as it was just too narrow in the forefoot. I loved the geometry of the shoe, and the feel of the foam, but it was just a bit too narrow to be confident running in them for a couple of hours without discomfort. I’m usually a standard D fitting, and the Mag Max is certainly closer to a standard D width than the Deviate Nitro 3, but not quite enough. Such a shame Puma builds such narrow shoes without routinely offering wide fittings. I would have thought it would be worthwhile making a wide version of the Mag Max given how suitable it should be for larger runners……..
I've definitely noticed they're narrow and find most running shoes I have to order a half size up with some (Hoka) needing to be a full size up for me.
first few runs in the MagMax it irritated my Achilles a little like Nick experienced, 3rd run got caught in a biblical rain downpour (amazing grip as usual with Puma)...since that soaking it's been no trouble on the Achilles...maybe that's the thing it needed
Anything but Nike these days for me. Personally I swear by Puma and Asics down to their beefier outsole rubber that just lasts longer with me being so heavy footed.
What a joy to ride with the puma mag max !!! sensational and quite responsive to be honest...best shoe ever for my long runs

Magmax is $70 dollars cheaper in Australia. Tough to argue against that.
I had both. I can't get with the Glycerin Max. Felt like it took more effort to run in compared to the Magmax.
Which one would you say is better for heavy runner
Team Puma ❤
In HKG,PUMA MAGMAX IS 799,AND BROOK IS 1550

or just get the magnify 2 for half the price (frequently on sale for 80/85)
Not the same at all. Good for alternative but not on the same level. Nowhere near.
@@botrytis_cinerea care to elaborate , I'm considering magnify 2
@@bradleyhenry1996 magmax is a bit better but it's not worth 2X the price basically.
@@bradleyhenry1996 magnify 2 is a great shoe for everyday training up to long easy runs. magmax might be better but not nowhere near twice!
Magmax vs Magnify Nitro 2
How does the Hurricane 24 compare to these?
