I bought a brand new 1967 Mustang that was exactly like this '68. It was a GT, 4 speed, 390 and it was Acapulco Blue. Boy this sure brought back very pleasant memories. Thank you very much for posting this.
I am a Chevy guy, Corvettes specifically, but that Fastback Mustang is one of the most beautiful cars that came out of Detroit. Great find and I look forward to seeing you all rebuild this beauty and bring her back to her former glory.
Awesome barn find! I wish I was that lucky to find a awesome 68 Mustang fastback GT with 390 4v 4speed power brakes and steering! Looks like it will clean up nice inside and out! Can't wait to see more content on it! Take care.
@@SpeedBumpGarage And it's in ridiculously good shape for a 50+ year old car. I gotta say, my big brother had a 67 390. He special ordered it. Waited 6 or 8 weeks for delivery. Quit his job at a factory in Detroit. Got a job at a gas station with mechanic hoist. Put headers on it. Cheater slicks. Big carburetor with custom intake manifold. 411 rear end. 2 fat pin stripes. Custom grill on concave tail end and beat a 67 427 Corvette. He was 18 year's old. Turquoise blue.

I remember my day bringing one of these home from the Ford Dealership he worked at...sure wish we had that car today..have always been a fastback fan..
My first car was a 1968 Ford Mustang with a 289 V8. This video brought back a lot of fond memories. I now own a 2019 Ford Mustang GT/California Special. I still enjoy Ford Mustangs. Thanks for sharing this find.
These 67-68 mustang Fastback and the Shelby cobras are my favorite fords nMy first car was a 61 Ford fairlane and my second car was a ,63 Ford Galaxy 500 390 engine
Great video. My Brother bought a new '67 in '67. It had was a GT with 390. It was just like this one, except they started putting the clearance lights, front and back in '68. His had the automatic trans. What a great car!
Great find. I'd get a Marti report on the car. Tells you everything you need to verify what should be on the car, and how many were made, with the same options. Good luck on making it a great runner.
Definitely a old ford guy love to get ahold of that old blue short bed dent side i just found a 65 fastback picked it up for Christmas it's tucked away in my gurage will be my summer project 🐎🚗💪🇺🇲💯👊
AWESOME!!! Acapulco Blue❤ I have one in my garage in pieces, mine is an S code 390 as well. My first car ❤. Unfortunately, the motor wasn't the original 390 when my dad bought it for me many years ago.
Dan a great find for sure. I love the 68 fast back. Is the engine date coded to the car. If so look at the tranny rear end a n.v d fine the stock carb , air filter housing and coil. If all is good you got a fine car. That's is big bucks for sure.
That 4-speed center console and pad are rare including the pad that surrounds the AM / 8 Track ! Those items alone in good original working condition are worth big bucks!
Looks like a nice car. I know your friend will have a good time with it. It's amazing how many old cars was at that place. GOD BLESS Y'ALL. MERRY CHRISTMAS JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

Appears to be a color difference between the right front fender and door. Not terrible but a concern for possible handling issues? Mice in the Mustang , besides the chewed up towels. The headliner hanging down means they have been in the roof , check under the dash I've found nests in there after thinking I had everything done. Set some mouse traps right away and leave them in for a while. Beautiful car and a collector special. The 56 Crown Victoria looked like it needs to be saved as well. Looks like there are a lot of Ford trucks that need saved? And I thought I saw a couple square bodies sitting around. You guys found the honey hole!!!
Damn, that's pretty much the same Mustang I had back in the 80's... I'm so sad that I sold it. Thanks for this video because it brought back so many memories. Maybe I'll sell my newer stang and get back into the older one again.
Nice car. I have always been a GM guy, but that car would have been one I would buy. But that Crown Vic got my attention. One of my cousins bought a new 56 Crown Vic when I was about 5 years old and I thought that was a beautiful car. It was had the 312 Thunderbird engine in it. It was black and white. I don't know what he did with it he moved away in the mid 60s and still had it then. Love you'll stay safe and God bless. Dan
Wow nice car its so nice. The best thing to do to a auto that is sitting is put under the HUD and in the car is mothballs that keep the Mic a way if you take to this guy your at let him know to.
It looks like the front seats have been replaced with the later 69 Versions with the head rests and solid light blue pattern . What nice find!!!. You could have just put the car in first gear and move it back and forth to check if it was stuck.... More leverage than your hands....
Real nice car, and nice motor. I had a buddy in high school who had one (1974), I drove a '68 barracuda then, in those days (gas crunch years) we could get them for between 500 and a thousand bucks which was a lot for us in those days but doable. 325 hp, only ten hp less then a 428 cobra jet. I hope your buddy has a blast.
Looks like a twin to mine when it was new mine had a white C stripe. It is now orange with black C stripe and black int the 390 is long gone it has a 428 cj in it now It was drag raced in late 70s and early 80s I’ve had the car almost 36 years. Really fun to drive and fast

The intake is not factory. Pretty sure it should be C8AE 9425 intake with a big S cast in. The air filter housing is unique to Mustang and Cougar for 68 S code. Cut the hood and put a 2 4 barrel intake on it sticking through the hood And y’all will be ready to go on the Hot Rod Power Tour with a kick butt car. Regardless don’t leave it stock because who cares about an old car . Thanks see y’all out there.
