Just made a double-zippered bag based on this video. Instructions were pretty clear and the video was easy to follow. I added a short strap at the top while sewing the side seams and did not attach the top of the smaller pocket, to make a third pocket that doesn't fasten. Thanks for the tutorial!
Omg this technique is THE BEST!! I came here today specifically to see how to make this type of pouch. After scrolling through videos once I saw Whitney Sews had a tutorial...I literally said to myself "oh I'm going to follow her video....she makes everything look so easy!!" 😊. Great tutorial!!!
Whitney, thank you for this tutorial. I'm so happy I found your channel. I'd love to send you pictures of everything I've made, alas, I'm not a technology person and don't know how to download! I just wanted to thank you for two things I've made in particular this week. My granddaughter wants to go all natural so I made your pad tutorial and this tutorial using PUL in the lining of the larger size for the wet/dry bag. I researched to find patterns and I found yours to be the easiest, best and most concise instructions. Thank you for explaining things so clearly and making the sewing so easy with the fewest steps. Thanks again, can't wait to see what's next!
Nice nice nice, I have been wanting to make a small bag like this but dreaded how to do it. Well you gave a easy way and that is exactly what I am going to make .....you do things so easy . Love it tks for showing how....🌹❤️🌹❤️
I love how finished the seams are, and how you make it look so easy! Going to try this, but I think I'm going to turn it so it goes long-wise and add a strap. This is just what I was looking for to make a little crossbody purse for our trip to WDW next year! Thanks so much!
Janet Coker Awesome! I looked for the pic though and didn't see it. Is your account private? You might try actually tagging me in the pic @whitney_Sews to see if that will show up for me. Can't wait to see it :)
I've been making padded zipper pouches for a while using the other method, but I think I might give this a go as well. Your videos are so easy to understand. I had a go at filming how I made my zipper bags. I do card making videos, which are a whole lot easier in some ways than filming sewing videos - I had so many stop and starts! Let's see if I can edit it and make it understandable 😂 Kudos to you for what you do :) xx
Thank you for your video! I am in the process of making one! My only problem is that I do not have short term memory! I suffer from Lupus and old age, LOL. I have to keep coming back to your video and stopping and starting it over and over again. I wish I could print this out step by step! I have to keep going back and taking out stitches and watching you again and again. I tried to write it all down and explain what to do step by step but it is not like looking at your video. I am making a cross over double pocket bag for a sister that is in a nursing home and needs one to keep her items in while she is out of her room. Some people cannot keep their hands off of and out of her things. She has been robbed of her very limited funds and a lot of clothing items. I hope this will help her keep her money and other small items safe from other patients and some of the employees! Thank you for your wonderful idea and video! An old welfare worker!
Thanks, Whiteney. I really like this idea. I'm worried about sewing over the zipper teeth with my new Pfaff 5.2 as my last Pfaff blew a gasket (literally) when I did it with the nylon zipper I was attempting to install, however, I am going to think of a workaround for that. Perhaps a wing needle, or a jeans needle would work, I'll try it with both. Thanks for your great videos.
Absolutely awesome. Can you do a video with this bag and attach a strap or string for a cross body bag? Thanks for taking the time to share, Ms. Whitney!!
How would I put a strap on this if I wanted too? Would I fasten one end at the back and the other end in the front? And maybe to make it sturdier for something like that should I put a stabilizer in between the fabrics for the larger pocket? I’m not sure what kind of stabilizer I should use....not too familiar with those. I had to take my machine in to have it serviced a week ago but I get it back today and am excited to try making this pattern you posted! I’ve been deprived too long, lol.
Thank you so much for this video and the cross body bag video i will have to make one soon because i keep misplacing every small objects i carry with me, especially my keys, my wallet and my phone😅
This tutorial is great, thank you for sharing! I would like to use this bag to hold a tablet or iPad, how would you go about adding some batting for extra padding on the main body? Would the French seams still work with that extra layer of fabric? Should I add some quilting stitches to hold the batting in place? Please help ☺️
There are similar bags (the one I'm asking about) on TH-cam, but you have such clear instructions. I usually try ad find one of your videos! Its really nice to see the younger generation so talented in sewing. I took it up at 15 when I made my own clothes..Got busy with kids and now I am returning to it as they are grown.
Hi Whitney I came across your video where You talked about a craft fair in jenks Oklahoma I live around there and I was wondering when the next one is so I could come and meet u PS:I also love to sew. 🙃
Hi, that's awesome! The craft fair I did a few years back is in November. I don't actually live in or near Jenks, so not sure if I'll be doing it again this year or not. If I decide to do it I will announce it in a future video :) BTW really liked your Elvis cover!
I wouldn't really recommend sewing this bag by hand. You could try sewing something like a basic tote bag or even my five minute zipper bag (the lined or unlined version) by hand and see how those go first. Here's a playlist with all those tutorials and some extras in it. If you give any of them a try I would recommend using a backstitch because it's going to be much more secure than a basic running stitch. Best of luck! The very first link in the description box is for my blog post about this project. In that post I share the exact measurements for cutting your fabrics. Since they are just rectangles there is no need to an actual pattern. Hope that helps.
Click Show More under the video then click the first link of the description box. That will take you to my website, scroll down a little bit and the measurements will be there.
Thank you for keeping your videos, short, sweet and to the point. Love them.

I will be using this method to make wet/dry diaper bags. Soooo much easier than other version I tried. Thanks!
Awesome! Let me know how it turns out :)
I love how you make things so much easier to make and to understand. Thank you.
Aww thank you :)
I've made your other zipper bags and love how fast and easy they are. I'm looking forward to trying this one too. Thanks for the tutorial.
Awesome! So glad you liked the other bags and this one too :)
Thank you for teaching me how to make French seams. This bag is great!
You're welcome! French seams are so awesome!
This was a fun project and the results are really satisfying. Great tutorial!

I'm so glad you found my channel and the videos were helpful :)
I never thought to use one long piece instead of two smaller front and back pieces. That loop was mind blowing!
Love it. French seam makes this great! I love to use these type of seams. Thanks for sharing. 🌺
Thanks! French seams are my favorite sewing technique right now :)
Thank you so much for helping me. You make everything look so easy!
Aww thanks! I hope you give the bag a try!
You explain everything so well. Love your tutorials.
Aww thank you!

I'm so glad you liked the video. I would love to see a pic of your bag!
How do I add a picture?
Lisa Wolkerstorfer TH-cam doesn't allow you to add pictures, but you can share a pic on my Whitney Sews Facebook page
I think I will wait for your vid on the cross body bag. Love this, and I will sew it for my granddaughter! Thanks Whitney ;-)
That video should be up next Wednesday :)
Thanks Whitney! ;-)
So awesome! Love the bag! Thank you Whitney. ❤️

Whitney Sews I made 2 of your zipper lined bag yesterday and hash tagged you on Instagram. 🙂
Janet Coker Awesome! I looked for the pic though and didn't see it. Is your account private? You might try actually tagging me in the pic @whitney_Sews to see if that will show up for me. Can't wait to see it :)
Whitney Sews ok I will! :)
Whitney Sews I told several of my friends how to find you on You Tube for your great tutorials!

Let me know when you get your video up so I can watch it :)
Whitney Sews I finally posted it last week - hope you like it. It's hard doing sewing ones! Xx
Great Tutorial Whitney - I've been making pouches with 'lacey' zippers so I'm going to try them on this project - should look great :)
Awesome!
Thank you so much!!! Very easy to follow!
great Whitney just what I need to put my phone's in and car keys I wouldn't need to take a bag to work anymore love your video's ☺☺
Terri Roper Awesome! I'm so glad you like it :)
it would be good for your scrap pieces to make this
I love your tutorial on fast zipper bags. I am trying these soon! :)

Thank you very much for your always clear tutorial. I checked your website, but couldn't find the final dimension of the bag.

Yep! That video is coming next week.
Loved it. Can´t wait to try.
Yay! Let me know how it turns out :)
Good job...I loved this
om ahmad Thank you!
Great little bag! I'm going to make this! Have you ever used a zipper with the lace on it? I have a couple of them but not sure how to use them.
Awesome! Let me know how your bag turns out :) No, I have never worked with decorative zippers before.
awesome.... super easy! thanks Whitney
Helen Shukla Glad you liked it!

Easy to understand and quickly.

This isn't a good bag style to be padded. The French seams will become nearly impossible to sew because of the bulk.
fun &easy !thanks for sharing. 😊
Merci for this lovely tutorial.
You're welcome :)
I WILL be trying this!
What small seam allowance do you use at first so when you cut it, you won't cut your seam allowance?
This is just so darling. Will try it very soon, Will have to watch video as I work, tho’.
Let me know how your bag turns out :)
You are definitely the best on TH-cam! So...can you make this into a cross body bag?
Aww thank you! Actually it can be...that's the video I am planning for two weeks from now ;) Cut the fabric yesterday and started filming today!
Whitney Sews great, that was my question. Glad i read the comments. I. Anxious. Gonna do both. Thx
Great looking forward to it! Always nice to see you since you look exactly like my niece Jessica who is in another state. Same huge blue eyes!
There are similar bags (the one I'm asking about) on TH-cam, but you have such clear instructions. I usually try ad find one of your videos! One more..How does it work with Amazon? I order many things every month for my business.
This is awesome! Thank you SO much! :D
So glad you like it!
Thanks! Love this!
Yay! Glad you love it :)
Can/how would I add straps to this awesome bag? Thanks for the great tutorial!
Alma Dominguez I'll be showing that in a new video this Wednesday :)
Whitney please make a video on make up pouch (box type)with inner pockets for brushes etc.. thank you :)
Hi! how would you suggest I attatch a loop for a keyring or handle to this bag?
th-cam.com/video/WREdQ4xZ0jk/w-d-xo.html
I'd like to make a purse out of this. How would I add straps?
Hi Whitney I came across your video where You talked about a craft fair in jenks Oklahoma I live around there and I was wondering when the next one is so I could come and meet u PS:I also love to sew. 🙃
Hi, that's awesome! The craft fair I did a few years back is in November. I don't actually live in or near Jenks, so not sure if I'll be doing it again this year or not. If I decide to do it I will announce it in a future video :) BTW really liked your Elvis cover!
Whitney Sews Aww thank u so much I definitely subscribed
love... I am going to make this and put a strap on based on the video you just posted today... :)
Awesome! I'll actually be posting a video next Wednesday showing the best way to turn this into a crossbody bag :)
Thanks so much! Could you make this bag as a crossover body bag too?
Darris B. Nelson Yes. The tutorial showing how to make it a crossbody bag is here - th-cam.com/video/WREdQ4xZ0jk/w-d-xo.html
thank you!
Do you have advice for those without a sewing machine? I want to make easy bags items like this but id have to handsew it. Could it be possible?
I wouldn't really recommend sewing this bag by hand. You could try sewing something like a basic tote bag or even my five minute zipper bag (the lined or unlined version) by hand and see how those go first. Here's a playlist with all those tutorials and some extras in it. Hey Whitney loved your video, just wandering what do you do with all the crafts you make?
Thanks! I try to stick mostly to making useful things so usually me or someone in my family uses them :)
Have you made any of the NoodleHead bags??
Ashley Olanna Design No, I haven't.
Hi Whitney: Can you do this same double zipper pouch with handles?
I'll be showing how to make a crossbody bag version soon.
wonderful l love it
Thank you!
unable to locate your pattern on your website. please advise. Thanks and love your tutorials
The very first link in the description box is for my blog post about this project. In that post I share the exact measurements for cutting your fabrics. Since they are just rectangles there is no need to an actual pattern. Hope that helps.
Nice work
Cute! I will try this :)
Awesome! Let me know how it turns out! BTW love your profile pic :)
How do I get the measurement for the double pocket lined pouch?
The first link in the video description will take you there.
Could you use a patchwork quilted top for this?
You can try it, but I will probably be hard to sew through that many seams and layers.
Okay. Probably right. I'm planning to make this soon.
good tutorial
Que medidas tiene? Podrías poner las medidas en un papel para que los que no sabemos tu idioma podrámos entenderlo. Gracias
Love this 😁
How would you place a strap onto this bag?
I show exactly how to do that in this video th-cam.com/video/WREdQ4xZ0jk/w-d-xo.html
Cool!
Thank you!
Can’t find your measurements on your website
Click Show More under the video then click the first link of the description box. That will take you to my website, scroll down a little bit and the measurements will be there.
