My grandma loves these bags but would never get a frivolous one for herself. I'm bad at sewing but your videos is great and hopefully I'll make a perfect gift for the perfect grandma 💛
Love your tutorials :) . These are great for quick gifts; I've been searching for something quick as I want to make something for the granddaughter of a friend of mine who loves unicorns and this fills the bill! Thank you.
Thank you,I will make this bag for my 2 granddaughters, hopefully I can find some fabric as cute as yours!Love those bags, love your tutorials, thank you.
Whitney, I have gone to your website and can’t not find the bag you referred to for measurements. I am wanting to make this crossbody bag! Love the video! Thank you, Kay
+Kay Myers The direct link to the blog post is in the video's description box. Click that link then scroll down through the post. The measurements will be on that page.
I do love this tute. I always thought it would be great to make one but always thought they were to difficult. Now, you made it look easy to do. I am going to make one & maybe many more for gifts. thanks
I would like to try this with a faux leather. I wouldn't use the french seams. I would probably just use my serger. Do you think this would work out alright? Have you or anyone else used faux leather? I have done this many times with prequilted fabric or just cotton fabric. Great tutorial.
I am so tickled I tried this. I wanted crossover bag for vacation. I wondered if you thought of reversing zipper for left handed people. I want to make for my vacation buddies. Great instructions
My mom is a lefty, so yes it's something I think about. You can definitely have the zippers going whichever direction is best for you :) Glad you like the video!
Nancy Lee I don't have written directions with pics for this project, but the measurements are on my website. You can click the first link in the description box for those.
Hi Whitney Love your tutorials and I have made a few bags using your method. Really quick and easy especially when you need a gift in a hurry. In one of your tutorials could you please show how to sew the zips that have lace edges. I can't seem to get my head around how they are sewn on. Thankyou regards Maxine
I finally made this bag, it's a little wonky but next time I'll iron my fabric. Other than that I adore this pattern thank you so much for sharing this Whitney!!!!
I love the bag look and your easy directions. It is however, a lot of bulk to do those French seams. I broke two needles and my machine is fairly heavy duty. I would love to see this pattern without all the extra overlapped fabric.
Hi you're the best! Clear and to the point! Please I wish you'd show me how to make a nurse's pouch with partitions for pens, scissors, tape, stethoscope, needles.
So cute... thanks Whitney! I'm guessing both pockets are complete in & of themselves. Thinking it would provide another 'pocket' to leave the top of the smaller pocket unattached from the larger one... for three pockets. In my world, you can't have too many bags, or pockets. :)
Yes, they are two complete pockets. I thought about leaving that top bit open on the smaller, but was afraid the weight of the anything inside the pocket would risk tearing out the seam since it wouldn't be as secure.
True. :) I like to use pockets like that for receipts or coupons... for light and flatter objects. I have my supplies all ready to whip one up this weekend.
I had a question about the zipper. I wondered why it didn’t lay flat…this was my 3rd & 4th zipper, so I may have top-stitched it wrong. Any suggestions?
Nondirectional is something like polka dots that look good turned any which way. Directional is like the Mickey print that has to be turned a certain way to look right.
I have been trying to make hobo bags, and I always have a really hard time understanding how to do the straps. (turning them out and sewing them together) Would you consider making a video about hobo bags?
Just make it the same as shown then when you're ready to sew up the side seams turn the bag so it's right sides together and sew them finish the raw edges with a serger, zig zag stitch, or pinking shears
There isn't a seam there so you would either have to cut the fabric across to add them or have them on the very back which might look a bit unfinished. But feel free to do whatever you like :)
Though I do enjoy your videos and techniques I find it so time consuming and somewhat confusing to have to go to website for measurements, watch a different video to connect to this one THEN watch this one to make a French seamed crossbody bag. I wish you would combine all 3 to make it more comprehensive. Going to try though. Thank you
i wonder if you really know how great this method is, the easiest for a double pocket all the others have a cut out for the zipper weird so much easier your way I made it a while back in oriental fabric turned out great
Ok I have now finished making 1 of this crossbody bag and my daughter hasn't seen it yet as she fell asleep early, I wonder what she'll do/say in the morning ❤️ Because when she came home from school she saw me adding the iron on pieces and said, "mummy make a bag for me na" 😂😂😂
I followed your directions to a T. Both on the website and all on the videos. Tried it twice and neither turned out right. So disappointed to waste fabric and zippers.
I'm so sorry to hear that it didn't turn out right. I've had several people make this project and theirs turned out great, so I'm not sure why it's not working for you. Was there a certain step where you could tell it went wrong?
Whitney Sews the bottom corners seem so thick for some reason. I guess the other issue is I didn’t use a big enough allowance in the inside because when I turned it back out you could see the rough edges. Thanks for your help. I love your channel.
I love how you used the french seams, it looks wayyyy more easier than some other videos I watched
Thank you.
I finally made my crossbody bag!! Thank you for your easy to follow video 😊
Thank you for making your videos easy to follow. I have a real problem when it comes to following steps if they're not showen slowly and in order
Aww thanks! I'm glad you like my videos :)
when attaching the small pocket to the large, I didnt sew the top so I could have an extra pocket between the 2 zips
Great idea!
Omg I just had that Idea too!! How did yours Turn out?
I did that too, my granddaughter loved the extra pouch.
I love this tutorial! Thank you so much. Also you have the prettiest eye color!
Thank you,I will make this bag for my 2 granddaughters, hopefully I can find some fabric as cute as yours!Love those bags, love your tutorials, thank you.
Nice!! and I was wondering how I could add D rings and a strap with the French seam! :) Thanks! Going to make one tomorrow for sure.
Awesome! Let me know how yours turns out :)
Thank you nice bag
Hi,great tutorial.
You showed me a quick and easy way, thank you 🤗.
From the UK.
Love this do you have the measurements for childs size?
Hi! I'm looking forward to making this! Can you tell me at which point you use the shapeflex & how you used it. I've never used it before.
I LOOOOVE all your bag tutorials!! can't wait to try this one!! thanks!!!
Yay! Glad you like it :)

Whitney Sews Where did I see written step by step with pictures?
Nancy Lee I don't have written directions with pics for this project, but the measurements are on my website. You can click the first link in the description box for those.
Whitney Sews thank you so much. I must be mistaken then.
Wow, I asked about this in your last tutorial and here you go and make it. Thank you so much.
Hehe yep! I had actually already filmed half of this tutorial before the last one was even posted ;) Hope you give it a try!
Great tutorial

I'm so glad you like my tutorials! I have never worked with lace zippers before.
I finally made this bag, it's a little wonky but next time I'll iron my fabric. Other than that I adore this pattern thank you so much for sharing this Whitney!!!!
I have to try this , girl this is awesome work
Thank you!
Love the bags... have both videos "liked". That kingze site is difficult to navigate. Never could find that Mickey/floral fabric. Darn!
Yeah, their website is a little unusual. Unfortunately the Mickey fabric was an older print and is sold out now.
Thanks... appreciate the reply, Whitney!
I love this bag! New subscriber, thanks for all your great projects.

I love this bag can you do it with a triple pocket?
yes, just don't sew the bottom pocket at the top
Muy bonito! Gracias por enseñar 💕👏👏
Good crossbody bag demo !! Thanks.
You are so young and already an expert at sewing !!
When did you start taking sewing lessons ?
Thanks, but I'm not that young. I started sewing 20 years ago as a teenager. Never took lessons, just watched my mom sew.
I love this bag! How would I make this bag have a boxed bottom?
Hey, Karen, if you check out her video she gives at the end of this one, she shows you how to do just that!
Hi Whitney! How did you attach the Pellon Shape Flex? Did you iron on one piece of fabric and then sew?
Hi Whitney. Nice bag.. Can this bag be made no sew bag.. I don't own a sewing machine..
Really cute fabric for this project
Thank you! I had been saving it because I wanted to make sure to use it for just the right project :)
So easy. I love it. Thank you Whitney ♥
Glad you love it!
I had a question about the zipper. I wondered why it didn’t lay flat…this was my 3rd & 4th zipper, so I may have top-stitched it wrong. Any suggestions?
This is so cute. It looks like a Vera Bradley.
Thanks! The fabric is actually a Vera Bradley print :)
I seen a saddle type bag on one oh your videos, and cant find it, please tell me where I can locate it, new to your site, and I’m hooked.
This one?? th-cam.com/video/-D7vYZI9bh8/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much, really enjoying your site. Happy sewing.
Fabulous Whitney 👏👏 love the French seams
Cute bag and easy. Think I’ll make one out of fabric samples I have. Thanks?
+ROSE MARY LADINSKY Glad you like the tutorial! Let me know how yours turns out :)
great job
I love it. Super easy 👍
Very nice. I love all of your videos
Thank you!
Hi Whitney please accept my ignorance but what is non directional print?
I look forward to making this bag love it
Nondirectional is something like polka dots that look good turned any which way. Directional is like the Mickey print that has to be turned a certain way to look right.
Thank you Whitney I did actually google it and found out. Also I have made the double pocket bag and looks fantastic
Wonderful! I'm so glad you make one and love it! If you're on facebook please share a pic on my page :)
I'm wondering if you could record a video about an off the shoulder halter dress?
I have been trying to make hobo bags, and I always have a really hard time understanding how to do the straps. (turning them out and sewing them together) Would you consider making a video about hobo bags?
Me too!
Hi the lining u sew on the fabric, is the an piece of fabric.
Hi, what type of fabric it is? Which section of store can I get this fabric?
Love the fabric
Can't find the older video. There was one I saw of you sewing the double zipper bag, but it didn't have a strap
If you search Double Zipper Bag Whitney Sews on TH-cam it should come up.
supper and nice explanation
Will you post making your child crossbody bag? I’d love the dimensions.
No, I don't think I'll be making a kid size one
Great easy bag!! Thanks!
Glad you like it!
Where do I find instructions on how to make an adjustable strap?
That tutorial should be linked in the description box, if not just search Whitney Sews adjustable strap on TH-cam and it will come up
ok I love your posts !!!
I'm loving your videos! Thank you!
Aww thanks! Glad you like them :)
Do you have instructions for this bag without using French seams?
Just make it the same as shown then when you're ready to sew up the side seams turn the bag so it's right sides together and sew them finish the raw edges with a serger, zig zag stitch, or pinking shears
I can’t find where you made the original bag?
th-cam.com/video/s5AmAMkzkPc/w-d-xo.html
great cross body bag .😄some time you just need a small bag to get around .😉....thanks for sharing. 😊
Yep! Sometimes I don't want to carry my super big bag around.
could you attach the d ring tabs to the top of the bag?
There isn't a seam there so you would either have to cut the fabric across to add them or have them on the very back which might look a bit unfinished. But feel free to do whatever you like :)
Show how to stitch cross bag to keep books
very nice I love it
Thanks :)

th-cam.com/video/uXmBkYbKz1E/w-d-xo.html
Do you have a PDF for this
No.
I want to know the measurments
The first link in the description box will take you to them.
Please do one with three zippers in front and one in back.
i wonder if you really know how great this method is, the easiest for a double pocket all the others have a cut out for the zipper weird so much easier your way I made it a while back in oriental fabric turned out great
Very good
So cute.
Thanks :)
Wow, this is be a "must make" bag. I needed one to go shopping with so my hands can be free.
Awesome! If you give it a try please let me know how yours turns out :)
I know for sure if I only try to make 1 like this my daughter would want to "steal" it as well 🤣🤣🤣
Ok I have now finished making 1 of this crossbody bag and my daughter hasn't seen it yet as she fell asleep early, I wonder what she'll do/say in the morning ❤️
Because when she came home from school she saw me adding the iron on pieces and said, "mummy make a bag for me na" 😂😂😂

Megan Dodds Here's the link th-cam.com/video/uXmBkYbKz1E/w-d-xo.html
Thank you sew(pun intended) much!
O my I need that print!!!!!
I made this today. Its a lovely and easy tutorial Thank you so much,
I'm so glad the tutorial was easy for you to use!
Whitney Sews I plan to make more. I have posted the one I made on my Instagram page and tagged you in it. I hope you get a chance to see it.
Asha Merchant I looked and could find the pic. Is your profile set to public?
Whitney Sews I am not sure. I will check. Its called "schnopam".
Asha Merchant I looked you up and your profile is private so I can't see the pic.
Cute
Thanks :)
thanks I would have appreciate it if this video was better explained instead of having to watch another video to make this one . Good video

I cannot do this project because you have the measurements in inches. In portugal we do not use inches and I have no comparison
You can convert the measurements through google
@@Whitney_Sews I know but I dont know how to do it because I dont know the equivalents
YAY! thanks, Whitney! ;-)
You're welcome! Hope you give it a try :)
My daughter just asked me to sew my granddaughter a purse. Yes, I will sew it for her.
Wow really too fast! Wish I could find the more detailed video that you spoke of.
I believe this is the video I referenced th-cam.com/video/s5AmAMkzkPc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you
What size did you make the child one ? . would like to try one for our little one.
+Jo Cropley I haven't made it in a kid's size yet.
