    I saw a guy using rubber exercise bands to limit the sideways movement of the weights. He tied the middle of the rubber bands to right above the weights, and then tied each end of the rubber bands to each side of the rack. He said that in addition to keeping the weights from moving too much, it also gave a little more resistance towards the end of the movement...

    Good money saving tip. Use hevy Duty Paracord instead of Wire. Just make sure you got the right size Polly for paracord. U don't need eny clamps. Just Nots and carabiners. E bay Rock climbing equipment.

    I accidentally deleted someone’s comment when I was trying to reply to it (and I can’t get it back) - Sorry about that that “Canadian Patriot”. It works by reducing the “swing amplitude” of the cable by eliminating the swing from ever getting too drastic in the first place. As far as adding the ball stop by feeding the cable directly through the plastic ball- yes that would work if you wanted to go to the trouble of disassembling the cable (i.e., removing the thimble and clamps and then having to reassemble it) but by doing so you will also slightly reduce your potential range of motion by about 2 inches (the width of the ball). Happy Lifting!

    sorry if this is a dumb question, but would or could you try to make like a net for weights for the pulley system? i have a bunch of dumbbells and was seeing if somehow a net could get them together for a pulley attatchment.

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you could …weight is weight…however doing so would put extra wear and tear on your plate’s paint job…with the plates loose inside the net…also it sounds like it would be MORE work to set up than using a loading pin…. But - that is just my opinion…if it makes sense to you- go for it!

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I re-read your comment…you want to attach Dumbbells …got it….just hitch a “Soft Loop Tie Down Strap” to your dumbbell and then attach it to your cable with a carabiner. These straps are available at any hardware store for $1 or less. If you try it let me know how it works for you…should work out perfectly for you

    Does it work when you’re reps are at a faster pace? Or does your pace have to be as slow as yours was in this video? Slow and focused reps are cool. But sometimes I gotta get mine in quickly if I have a busy day ahead.

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How long would you recommend the chain to be?

    • @DesignBuildLift
      @DesignBuildLift  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used a Piece of 21” chain in the video.
      The required total length of the chain primarily depends on the exercises you want to do. If you are doing exercises where you stand close to the pulley (e.g., most tricep push down variations), you do not need the full 21” chain (as demonstrated in the video where clipped the to the last link and the 6th link inward). However , if you stand far away from the pulley to do the exercise (e.g., high cable woodchop), the full 21” could be needed. Hope that helps!
