  • Stephanie's tutorial involves sewing a winter wind draft stopper to solve a neighbor's drafty door. Rice is used to fill the tube.
    narrower stopper:
    patch: 28" x 7" to start, 27" x 6 1/2" Rice: 2-16 oz (you do not use all)
    bigger stopper:
    patch: 35" x 8 3/4" to start, ends with 33" x 8" tube,............rice: 48 oz & 16 oz
Add ribbon, on belting, or other material to make an end strap to use for storing on a hanger.
Double stitch seams to secure the rice.

I did one years ago but never thought about using rice. Instead of the band on one end I made a Long leash? With a circle on the end to hook it on the door handle so I wouldn't have to bend down to pick it up. Kind of like a dog leash. It also caused the draft dodger to slide back against the door when I closed it. Hard to explain but it worked really well.

That sounds so neat! That would move my draft dodgers (cute, name) up a couple of rungs! Thank you for sharing!
